Well then! Basically, there was this dude named George. He wanted to be a knight. And there was this big fat dragon that liked to eat sheep, but eventually England ran out of sheep, so they decided to use children instead. Each day they would have a raffle and pull out a childs name at random. That child would be sacrificed to the drgaon. Now, there was this stuck up little princess. She was a bit of a brat, though it doesn't say specifically in the original ledgend. One day, the king pulled her name from the hat, and everyone across the land was ever so shocked. So, the king had to oblige. He had her tied to a pole outside the dragon's lair.
This dude, George, probably quite fancied the princess(though again - this is not how the ledgend goes, I'm just telling my version). So, he decided to go and rescue her before the dragon ate her, and hoped no-one would notice.
He set off, and climbed the hills, blah blah... evil... blah blah... the dragon woke and saw him... blah blah... slayed that poor innocent little dragon... blah blah... rescued the princess... blah blah... was a 'hero'.
