The donated image was a bit too vague for a reference, as it was hard to tell what was the coat colour and what was shading, but if Meadow could make a clearer reference for the pup then it would be accepted. :3

Rain makes her happy, and so does the rainy season.

A flock of jet-black crows flew high above me, forming dazzling patterns and shapes, their silky feathers gleaming in the moonlight. Stars twinkled in the gray-blue sky.
The songs of the mockingbirds rang in my ear like a bell.
Sometimes I'd lose myself in thought. I liked to think of another world above me, like a safe haven. Something some beings call 'Heaven'. Yes, Heaven. I'd like to get there someday. Where the clouds are soft as a sheep's pelt, the sky is as blue as a bluebird. Some said it was all [censored]. Some said I was greedy, while others insisted I was flat out insane. I'm not sure if it's really true or not. They may as well be mere fantasies.

I enjoy my life on Earth as much as possible. Try to get as much out of life as possible.
When I pass away, I want to be proud of what I've accomplished. Everyone does, I guess, but this was a special 'need'
Maybe when Im set free, I can spread my wings and fly. I can be with my family, who had passed away years ago.

Meaning: Nothing, her master loves to make his own, prestigious sounding names.
Nickname: Ver ('vare')
Reason behind nickname: Her master just started calling her that to shorten her name.
Species: Silken Windhound

Personality: Verana is quite the innocent and clueless when it comes to life. She knows little, thinks she knows a bunch, and doesn't know a lot. She is very loyal to everything she does and always tells the truth, unless is told not to by her master. Never really having any friends, she was used to being lonely, but loved having a hand stroke her back. Though she didn't have any friends, she always wanted some, because on the inside, she just wants a relationship. She's very dependent to have things done for her or to have someone help her out, so the position she is in now isn't the best for her. She wishes everyday that small bump in the rug wasn't there, but knew it could never be reversed. Because of Dango kicking her out of his life, she feels like she has no more meaning, which you will see throughout her form what I mean.

Lineage: Comes from a very prestigious family of racers.

Hometown: She comes from Russia actually. They hold large races there and she was bought by Dango while he was vacationing there.
Type of childhood: Her childhood before Dango was very rough, being taken away from her mother as a very young age (3 weeks) and being made to eat kibble and goat milk. Pushed from cage to cage, she was roughed around a lot. But then Dango came, he changed her life. He treated her like a queen and loved her bunches.
First Memory: Her mother.
Most important child hood event that still effects him/her: Being taken away from her mother.
Why? Because even though her eyes were still closed, her mother loved her soo so much.

Relationship with Mother: Though she never really knew her, she felt such a connection with her. She felt really close to her and still thinks about her to this day (though she never knew if her mother felt the same way).
Relationship with Father: Never knew him because of the way the breeding goes.
Siblings, How many, relationship with each: Unknown.
Other extended family: None that she knows of, but there is probably a lot. There are only a few studs in the Russian races and they breed all of the females. They are quite cocky.

Most ill at ease when: Made fun of.
Past failure they would be embarrassed to admit: The mistake at the race that ruined her life.
If granted one wish what would it be, why? To never have been born because then she would never have to have felt all the agony she's been through.

Background // Story:
Dango's hand softly slid over my smooth, silky fur. Here, it where I sit. Almost everyday next to my master's chair while he watches the fire and I sit next to him until he tells me to go. The large room felt rather empty today. Even though my master's hand was soft, his expression was hard and he looked as if something irritated him. I whimpered and rubbed my snout against his hand. He had a soft spot for me, but somewhere in my sub-conscious, I knew he was a very evil man from the very mean things he does to other dogs. He's a dog racer, but under cover and in an illegal way. He treated me well though, and that's all I really cared about.
Barking orders at the track, Dango went along with his normal business. His bids were already set and now he was going setting everything up, making sure everything was as perfect as could be until 1:30 (in the morning), when the race started. Sure it was dark, but we could see quite well, and we were just going forward so us Windhounds it's easier than licking a front paw.
The other seven contenders and I were lifted by our cages and over to the straight-away tracks. I felt more ready to race then ever, ready to impress my master and if I did, I would get a belly rub. Oh how I enjoyed those soothing belly rubs I get after every win.
I looked around my surroundings, but mostly I looked at the new pups who weren't quite used to the harsh setting yet. There faced were scrunched as if they were about regurgitate their minimal dinner they ate just about an hour before now. We were in cages that were quite large, so I was able to lift my rump up a bit to get my front paw forward and the other front paw back. In this stance I would be able to get a quick start, which I would need against so of these top competitors.
The announcer was now set up in a booth a ways away from the tracks.
"Welcome ladies, gentleman, and bidders," he announced, "the race is about to start, in 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. And they're off!"
As soon as my cage door was lifted halfway, I slid under it and ran at top speed. The once dark place was now quite bright as my eyes adjusted and I could clearly see the finish line all of us were headed for.
It all happened in a blur.
I looked to my side of me, an immediate mistake, and then back when I didn't see my competitors, once again, another mistake. Then my right paw fell behind, tripping myself as my left paw came forward for another leap. I could almost hear Dango screaming out in fury. I knew I had left him down, and the consequences wouldn't be good.

A truck came to a lurch as it reached the pet store parking lot. A man stepped out of the aged looking truck, and tugged out a cage. "Alright Pup. Time to go.." The man walked inside and gave the pup to the Pet Store. Teo, said the name tag in the corner of his cage. He sniffed around the box for awhile before settling down and relaxing. Eventually, he dozed off.

The Next morning when he awoke, they took him to a place where they set him on a cold metal table, and poked him. Well, it was more like a pinch then a poke. Teo had gotten his shots. When he was put back into his cage, a bunch of humans walked in, and dogs got adopted. Not Teo. He was still in his cage, his tongue hanging from his mouth, his brown eyes were big. Yet nobody picked the adorable puppy.

Two Weeks Later, Teo was adopted by an ugly man, with a scruffy beard and a unirow. The man stuff him into a small cage, and took him to a colorful circus. The man taught Teo tricks, and if Teo did them wrong, he would be whipped. Teo eventually learned to do everything the man said. Then, Fire struck the circus and Teo ran free! He ran until he couldn't feel his legs. He found himself at an open field, with green grass, and sheep. His tongue lolled from his mouth and he approached the building, a red barn. The farmer that lived there took him in. He now takes care of Teo.
