Hands Explanation
Alright I've be seeing a lot of forms with heights that aren't real for a horse.
So basically, hh means 'hands high', and a hand unit is four inches. By the way, i don't suggest using a calculator to figure out a horse's new height!
To convert inches to hands, divide the number of inches tall your equidae is by four and the remainder is added after the radix point/decimal.
For example; say you have a 50in tall equine, divide by 4 to get 12.5. This is not the horse's height! A hand is only four inches, so instead of .5 you put 12.2, meaning the horse is between 12 and 13 hands high.
Because there is no such thing as a 15.4, 15.5 or 15.6hh horse(:
Now say we have a foal standing at 15 inches at the withers, divide by four and you get 3.75. Do not use 3.7hh as your horses height. You instead put 3.3hh.
It's really simple really once you understand this measurement. 12hh is an even horse height, 12.1h is three quarters away from being 13hh. 12.2hh is between 12h and 13h, and 12.3hh is basically a quarter away from being a 13 hands high horse.
from now on I will not accept a user to adopt a horse if you put an inaccurate height ^-^

This one of a kind reserve specializes in the care, management, availability, and skill of Earth's Equidae (commonly known as the horse family). Our Equidae are properly tamed and then trained of the up-most important necessities, then adopted out to hopeful owners. A step away from the reserve you may find commonplaces, barns, skill amendments, and even competitions to put your Equidae to the test. So enjoy!<3


Rules

now before we go on, i'm afraid i'll have to direct you to our guidelines. it's mandatory, but only takes the shortest of a minute or two ~

-New Nimrod97 will be here to help answer questions and mod<3
-As of August 17th, you must have correct height to adopt an equidae
-Follow the general rules of the site
-Please refrain from spamming, begging, flaming, or guilting
-Do not claim a design that you did not adopt
-Respect anyone who comes across the thread please and thank you
-Keep your Equidae on CS (or personal character site) only
-Ten overall Equidae per person (choose wisely!) unless you buy extra slots (not available yet)
-There is no gifting or co-owning allowed w/o my permission

Animal Classification

there are our basic and general animals and then our crossbreeds ~

Ponies ex; shetland, minature, welsh
less than 14.2hh
Horses ex; arabian, thoroughbred, paint
14.2hh to 17hh
Drafts ex; shire, percheron, belgian
16.3hh to 18.3hh
Zebras ex; grevy's, mountain, chapman's
14hh to 16hh
Mammoth Donkeys basic mammoth donkey
14hh to 16hh
Hybrids ex; donkey x horse or zebra x pony
height depends on both parents, lines depends on mother's lines

The Equidae Reserve's Data

customs and health

-Customs are closed unless posted on the main thread
-Equidae are not exempt from disease or medical issues, which must be resolved either through time or medicine
-Health can go down from competitions, breeding, or seasonal illnesses
-To keep up the health of your equidae, you must post some sort of development of your Equidae's character at least once a month. For example, post it's personality, short story, art, or poem.
-Basically, health equals character. Show me you are taking care of your horse like a real character.

breeding

-Breeding is closed for the time being
-Twin foals are exceedingly rare
-Only natural breedings are permitted at the reserve (mare x stallion)
-Foals take about a month to age, born as a newborn on their mother's page, then going through foal lines, then moved to it's own page. Patience is required to have a healthy horse.

competitions

-There will be different types of competitions, either based on luck or skill
-There is a monthly stable competition in which the stable with the best horses will be given a trophy
(sometimes poll decided, luck decided, or flat out skill average decided)
-Equidae with a placing of 1-10 get a ribbon per competition

stabling

-To stable your Equidae, create a new thread to house them (like a character thread)
-This is the only way your Equidae will be legible to enter in the competitions
-Show names are encouraged alongside having a simple barn name

skill average

-Skill is a number that every equidae has, owning up to a role in its offspring's skill average, and competition rating
-Bred foals will have more skill points than their parents
-Foundations are given a skill average by random generator
-You cannot change the skill average yourself
-To gain higher points either buy tack, train, or enter in competitions

currency

-Daenies/Dae are the Equidae Reserve's main source of currency
-Each registered member receives 10,000 daenies, then 300-1000 per week depending on activity
-Don't spend all your money at one time.
-You can choose to have a stud or broodmare fee
-In each competition, both the victorious and the not so lucky will receive more Daenies + Skill according to rank

Shop

tack is not added to your equidae's image but is recorded in the information on its page.

-Post the form on your chosen equidae's oekaki page so i won't miss it
-Your equidae must have a bridle, saddle, and saddle pad before entering in competitions
-Training can be bought once a week per equidae. (7 days after posting it's first training)

I advise keeping money in your bank or start saving up, offering breedings, etc.

thanks! yeah i was working on this before school ended and now i'm working on it again as school is starting back up XD preppy reminded me about equidae, i totally forgot about this ;o;

and i don't know yet dragons, it depends how hard school is gonna hit. it's pretty likely i'll try to hire a few artists and someone to run the weekly/bi-weekly competitions later september or october. but for now i'm just going to make long adoption comps and fewer horses than bear run so i can focus on both equestrians :>
