and yes, all pending breedings can totally be done, as well as new ones to come until I decide a closing date.
I'm highly considering to open the nursery every once in a while and not to permanently shut it down.
Ohhh maybe we could have like a breeding season? I mean, they're dragons and.... They could have a 'heat' season instead of being able to breed the whole year long ^^
I think that would overwhelm the artists xD

[quote="Hiccup" Let's all retire as staff now, okay? It's just me now.[/quote]
That's from hiccup's "closing" post.
I for one, will be standing by if hic ever needs someone in the nursery again.

There are a few thoughts I would like to share.
JBD adopts have been closed for quite awhile now. I remember how I used to stalk the created pets forum, hoping to see a new bean for adoption. It's been a long time since I have felt the excitement of seeing a new bean, and I have accepted that I won't feel it again. But there's nothing better than posting a ticket for your bean and their mate, and waiting for the baby with excitement. That's not something I want or will accept to be gone. It's oddly satisfying, finding a mate for your bean isn't easy, and is something a lot of people work for for a long time.
I was always greatful that the nursery was kept open. It was something for the community to have, something to look forward to. It kept things alive. It was also a great way to get some beans out there, especially to the nonowners. The nursery doesn't take a lot to run, artists just open slots when they want to. Contests for new beans UFA were all user run. I don't really see why it has to close, because it was the last thing that kept the community together. People have been leaving with just this news. I would really like to see it stay open. Jelly bean dragons have changed the adoptable oekaki forum forever, it would be a shame to see them gone.
But if the nursery does close down, there are some things that should be changed before it does.
- 2nd generation beans have to be owned a year before they can breed. I always thought that was a bit much, and should be lowered so the beans can breed.
- I had always expected for beans to be able to breed a total of 6 times, just 3 for now, so it could be cool if that was upped as long with maybe another nursery slot.
I hope that these thoughts could inspire some sort of change, I know many people who agree with them.

I agree with Segie's thoughts
I see no reason the nursery should be closed anyway.. it was never really involved in much drama, I mean I've only seen two issues staff got involved in so far.

In my personal opinion I'm just glad that Hiccup is even considering opening the nursery at future times because I have a teen bean and I want him to have kids but even if I aged him into an adult now it wouldn't work for him to have babies by the time the nursery closed. So at least I'm happy that it might be opening in the future and I don't even want to ask for more than that because I don't want that taken away xD

To add on, it's really hard for us who have been roleplaying with another bean for a while, but we never wanted to solidify as mates because we felt like we weren't ready in the roleplay yet. If the nursery was kept open (only by artists who wanted to do it), it would give the long-running couples time to not have to rush into a relationship.

Wait so I'm a little confused quq
If it's jut hiccup and berk, what about mxm or fxf couples who might breed in the future? Because a see all should know by now is that hiccups oekaki doesn't work; and berk only does mxf couples.
Unless the nursery artists are able to stay while the main artists retire or what not?
Idk just a concern of mine since my bean and his mate are both male, and we(me and the other owner) would definitely love for them to have at least one child. <3

I thought that patches was still open? That could be just me.
quitting chicken smoothie.
I am keeping my characters unless stated in their species rules I can't. I will gift the ones to close friends that I know will be active.
Do not ask for any of my pets or items, thank you.
Do not pm me. If i get one I won't read it.
If I lost a tryout contest winner is free to the art in my form. If I won you CAN pm me for this only reason. Title the pm, "You won!"
Thanks for being a great community. I did have fun.
