Welcome to the Sheltie Rescue Center!
Shetland Sheepdogs, or Shelties, are a high energy breed of dog. They looks like small collies, and are often called just that. They share many traits similar to a rough coated collie, including the same coat type, wedge shaped face, as well as being of the herding group. Especially, they kinda are a miniature rough collie! They are agile and incredibly smart, willing to learn, and eager to please. They are excellent watch dogs, as they tend to be incredibly alert to noises outside, as well as barking at strangers. They come in several coats, coming in Tri-color, Bi-black, and Sable as well as bi-blue, sable/brown merle, and blue merle.

The Sheltie Rescue Center offers free adoptions. Most of the time, these pups come in their natural coat colors. However, occasionally we will find one that is a little special in the fact that it comes in either another dog's coat, or that it has full spectrum coloration.
