"A Story is Meant to be Told"

Syn is a zealot to say the least, the loyal Syn will be ruthless in her persuit of life and her actions. Being a zealot she is stubborn and will not be swayed by those who try to capture her mind. She relies on her wits and mind more than her physical strength, reason being that she can be pretty lazy at times if she has nothing to live for, or when there is no adventure to be had. Since Syn is loyal she can be difficult about earning other's trust, she has had moments in time where when she was naive and trusted someone and there was tragic results.
Syndra can come off as cold and ruthless since she is distrusting of others she hasn't had enough time to actually get to know, so she can be quite judgemental when she is with others, picking out flaws and pointing them out, like a jeweler appraising the crystals that will be made into jewelry. She is picky about people, decisive and quite organized, she likes to have a plan rather than rushing into things blindly.

I was born white. Pure white. Nothing special really, my parent were pretty normal too, a psychic mother and a darkness father. I wasn't born with any siblings but I did have some 'friends', my parents were always concerned for me with my little crystal shards peeking from my body on my elbows and shoulders. The black mist though. It was the bane of my existence. I grew up pretty fine, with my few companions, one named Thalia who was a water saber and another named Nascence who was an electricity saber. I was one of the few that was psychic, but my friends were pretty fearful of me even though I was loyal to them all the time. My childhood was bland, with me just being a little kid with my friends who still avoided me, we would play hide and go seek and they would be hidden for hours. It certainly made me somewhat annoyed at the world when I couldn't find my friends, I would often give up and mope about, getting angry with the world for not being able to find my friends. I turned a little frigid when I got angry, my friend Thalia called me the Ice Princess even though I was Psychic not an Ice Saber. It made me all the more upset at them.

-

I slowly began to develop a deep purple color and yellowish markings on my front half of me body, then when I was getting into my teen years my crystals began to develop more and the mist grew stronger with me. The headband was now a bright yellow, heralding the crystal that was the strongest on my body. "Thalia!" I called, running through the trees, my paws gripping the dirt firmly to keep myself going in one direction, searching for my friends was still something I did even though they would keep coming back to me. "Nascence!" I yelled for them, I skidded to a stop when there was a pool of water, I purred softly, "Thalia, " I growled playfully, hearing a rustling in the grass near the water. I felt my tail twitch a little, "Got'cha!" I jumped onto Thalia, holding her by her shoulders, "Ha, I win again," I gloated, getting off of my friend who was looking annoyed. "Great job Syn, you found me again, just go find Nas, " Thalia said with her teeth bared a little, "Just leave me to my practice now, " She said, going to the pool of water and swatting her paw at the liquid.

-

I ran off again into the trees, soon coming to a stop at the large tree where I spent a lot of my time when I was alone, I could feel a static charge in the air and my ears pricked forward a little, my senses heightened a little, Nascence was near and I could feel it easily. I then smelled a musky sort of scent like a wet bird or a waterlogged carcass, it made my nose crinkle in disgust, I heard a loud roar and it made the air become dangerously charged with electricity. I stopped in my tracks and I saw Nascence was bent over a carcass of a bird like creature, his face and paws splatted with blood, I flinched, "Nas?" I called quietly and cautiously. His head whipped in my direction and he had a wild look in his eye, his normally calm demeanor was gone, "Nas..." My voice trailed off as I heard a low growl begin to creep from his mouth, his eyes almost looked clouded over, I saw his ear twitch in an unnatural way and he began walking towards me. He was like a zombie. Fear began to engulf me as my best friend was walking towards me, more like limping like a reanimated corpse, "Poor poor Syndra, " He said in a trance like tone, "You must be frightened to death, " He cooed, walking closer as I walked backwards slowly. My head was spinning and I felt my markings pulse a little in fear that was taking hold of me, making my throat close like a vice, "No-no," I struggled to protest as he inched closer and closer to me, the stench growing worse as he neared me. "No Nas!" I cried, my markings pulsing again and then he froze. Nascence was entranced by the gem on my forehead, his eyes still clouded over in a milky color, I saw his head twitch and he then was inching closer again, "Now now pretty gem bearer," He soothed in a tone that seemed to make the fear rise farther into her. He then reared up on his paws, slamming back onto the ground, making it quake with electricity that seemed to hold me in place as he charged at me. I was immobile, the electricity holding me firmly to the ground, I shut my eyes and braced myself for impact and it came. Breaking my stance and making me whack into a tree with great force. The wind had been knocked out of me and I was sprawled out on the ground gasping for air, "Nas-" I coughed and struggled to get up before I felt an immense paw press against my throat, cutting off my air again. "Poor poor Syndra only wanted to play..."

It had been about a year since the incident with Nascence, I was now pretty judgmental of others now, keeping to my tree near where the incident had occurred, Thalia was still my friend, coming to check on me every few days to see how I was doing, sometimes she brought a rabbit or a deer with her. She seemed to care but I was too absorbed in my thoughts to really care if she did. My life was pretty boring, practicing my attacks, clawing at the tree how many days had passed since Nas had. After that day I was found unconscious by Thalia as well as Nascence dead near me. Others had accused me of killing Nascance but after healers investigated the found he had been infected with a human virus carried by the Gryphon he had killed making him pretty much go insane and get all zombie like. I still miss him yeah, how would I not miss the saber that gave me the most hope. Nas had always been the nicest to me, even more so than my parents who kind of shunned me when they found out about the mist on my shoulders. I didn't have much else to do but my duties to the group and mundane things like hunt and practice. Thalia was pretty much the only link between me and insanity, keeping me company on the days I was cold and angry, luckily she didn't mind my perfectionist of myself, picking out the little things she or myself did wrong. I guess you could call it OCD but I'm not that bad, I just like things organized and planned out.

-

Thalia always seemed pretty naive to me,I watched her agonizingly go through relationship after relationship with males, the same outcome every time. She lost the guy. Every time a male even dared to look at me they seemed to cower in fear of me. It made me laugh sometimes, but made the hole in my heart grow ever so colder and iced over. No wonder I was the Ice Princess. The tree was still my refuge, my days I still counted as they went without Nascence. Every day seemed to get longer with my duties, hunting, protecting, I was loyal yes, and I kept going. The hope of finding someone as good as Nas was something that kept a small part of me warm with hope. I never knew something so amazing would happen though...

-

My head lazily pressed to the tree, my paw swirling slowly, manipulating the mist beneath my paw like water, I heard a rustle in the grass behind me, making my ears perk a little. My tail twitched lightly and I moved my head a little to the side to see if I could make out who was approaching me. I froze when I saw a saber with strikingly similar looks to Nascence, his markings were almost the same, so mush so I bit my leg to see if I was dreaming and I wasn't when pain shot up me leg. "Hello?" The male called, his voice was cautious as he slowed to a stop near me and my tree, his silvery eyes watching with intent curiosity. His ears seemed to be piqued with wonder at the sight of seeing me, an odd reaction. "What do you need, It best be good, I don't need to have some male think he has smooth moves waste my time, " I muttered, my crystals glowing in slight annoyance at this male thinking he could just waltz up to me and expect me to talk to him. I didn't play nice. Especially with males. "Thalia sent me to get you, she said she had news but couldn't deliver it herself." He said with a shake of his pelt as if to shake off my stinging remark at him. He still had a glint in his eyes showing that he still had mounting interest in conversing with me. "She said something about apples and peaches if it means anything to you, " He added, his ears moving back a little as if trying to act coy. Nice try lover boy. Then I actually listened to what he said, apples and peaches was our little code for she had made a mistake with a male. I knew she was naive. I snorted, "Well yes that does mean something to me, " I growled and got up from my lazy sitting position and began stalking away from my tree. I heard quick footsteps and felt soft crackles of electricity bounce off the male. It made me stiffen and walk faster, "You know it's not very wise to follow me, " I hissed at him, my head low and my ears pressed to my skull as I trudged along. "Well sorry i'm not perfect, I want to make sure you get there safe, " He shot back at me. It made me shiver a little, that's how Nas would usually respond when I was icy. The resemblance was making me a little freaked, "Fine, if I may know my escort's name then, " I asked, annoyed he insisted to stay with me. No male besides Nas had lasted more than a few seconds in conversation with me. "Status, I already know your name since everyone knows you pretty much," He said in a slightly cheery tone and it made me sick a little, "You're the one who had the zombie attack you, your friend Nascence right?" He asked me with a tilt of his head. I snarled and jumped onto Status, my anger and hurt becoming evident, my paws pinned him down and my markings pulsated angrily, "Don't ever speak of Nascence, you fool, " I growled at him. He didn't seem too fazed by my actions, more just slipped out of my grip, "I get that it hurts but you're letting it take over, " He muttered, his ears bending back, he obviously was one of those glass half full characters. It still made me a little sick to my stomach his level of cheeriness. "Yeah but you didn't watch your best friend try to kill you, " I mumbled sadly, my head downcast again as I kept walking in the direction I had been going. Status flicked his ear a little, "Well he obviously meant a lot to you if it hurts this bad, " He pointed out with a slightly cocky smirk on his face. I wanted to slap it off his face. "So what?" I spat, " If I want to hang on to it no one is stopping me, " I said in a dire tone. He then slipped in front of me, making me stop in my tracks, not letting me get past him I still kept my head down. "Stop Status," I growled, annoyed he had done so. "Not going anywhere until you let go of this thing strangling you," He said with a firm tone, sitting onto his haunches and looking down at me. I could feel his electricity still. Thoughts of Nascence flooded my mind, I shook a little, my feet trembling. "I saw the marks on the tree, you were counting weren't you?" He asked, his voice wasn't commanding or prying, more concerned for me. "Yes, I was counting," I choked out, "I count the days he's gone, " I submitted, sitting onto my haunches and sighing, "He was my only hope in life, he seemed perfect and always understood me. When he attacked me, I couldn't bear to strike back," I said in a sad, dragging tone. Status still was watching me even though I wasn't looking at him with my head as close to the ground as it was, "Well you should always have hope,"

-

I stayed with Status for a while, he talked a lot more than I did, obviously seeming a bit more cheerful than myself, even though he was a glimmer of hope in my pessimistic life. I still was pretty dim and cold but Status didn't seem to mind, neither did Thalia anymore. Thalia was still wrapped around some male's finger, but she had given birth to a cub, and she didn't even remember who the father was. Naive Thalia. "So how are you today Syndra?" Status chimed cheerfully as he came near to me, his trot showed me he was in a good mood today, as I was not. It was the anniversary for Nascence's death. Some thirty years ago. Yeah it was that long ago and I still hadn't gotten over Nascence. Status was beginning to think I was a little too attached to my late friend, "You seem a little more down today, you're usually not this bored looking, " He pointed out, pushing a small hare towards me sheepishly. I knew he liked me. I really did know. But I didn't want to accept that just yet. I didn't feel I was ready for any kind of commitment, especially with someone who looked so similar to Nascence. "Yeah, you could say that I guess, " I muttered, looking at the hare and sighing lightly, moving my head up a little, "I'm just thinking, " I mused, pawing at the hare and then leaning down and taking it in my jaws before lounging on my stomach. "You say that every time I ask that, how are you really doing?" Status pushed, he knew not to push too far, last time he had pushed it he ended up pinned to the ground with my claws ready to slash at his cheek. "You know the answer, lost, feeling hopeless, " I sighed with a little glare at him, he knew not to mess with me, especially today, I knew that he knew that this was a woeful day to me. "Well you don't need to feel lost, there are plenty of others that could fill an empty soul, " He said softly, laying down next to me but keeping his head up optimistically. He was trying to reel me in, but I wasn't biting. I lightly tore at the hare he had brought me, I looked up at him.
"But what if the one that made you feel safe and on direction and not lost was gone, "
