Of course, sitting here doing nothing
about this isn't going to help, then why
am I doing it? Eh, who cares.

The days around my house are overall
too laid back, but that never bothers me or
my family. We just sit and lounge around
in the two big green chairs in our living room,
we can all fit in the both of them.

Of course, not all days around the house are
relaxation and petting our 8 year old cat
and trying to catch our 2 year old kitten.
We go outside nearly 3 times every week
to go on walks, often I want to stay home and
draw but they drag me along anyways. Any who,
we often bring our dog, a female 7 year old Lolli
{Border collie x black labrodor mix} with us.

Only, one day I decided to stray away from
my sisters as they sat on the top of our hill
overlooking our and our adjoining neighborhoods.
Instead of sitting and getting my already filthy adventure
pants covered in dirt, I decided to go down the hill
and into our small forest.

"Of course," I muttered as I stepped through the
weather made entrance, "it's still mucky wet in here."
It had stormed the day before, but this time I
had dragged everyone out here. For what reason?
Well, I love rain. I love getting wet, well, as long
as it doesn't get in my eyes. Also, when it storms
it leaves that 'icky' smell {I love the smell, have no
clue why everyone else calls it the 'Ich' word. That's a
fish disease, not a smell.} that's like a mixture of a snail
trail scent and leafy mud. That smell comes when
the snails and frogs come out. Long story short,
I get my hands on every single one that crawls or hops
into my sight.

Sneaking over to the 'hanging tree', it has a bunch of white
elastic ropes tied to the branches, don't ask 'cause I have no
clue where they came from. Anyways, I stuck my back against
the damp bark, dipping my head around the tree to look at the
ground, focusing to look for the toads that often
blend in with the leaves.

I saw more then I had bargained for.

There, standing just a few feet away from the 'hanging tree' stood
a Merit. Of course at that time I had no clue what the heck it was
and I nearly screamed.

Dairy-day one
I saw him...again. In the graveyard. He never moves. Is always there. I work at the graveyard. Tending to
the graves. I see him wonder around. He is like a ghost. A bone like spirit that wonders around. I never try
to touch him or speak to him. Sometimes I can feel him watching. He is always watching. Waiting almost. I
am scared he will attack. I always move slowly around him. Never wanting to offend the crow sized creature.
I have heard of his species. Masked Merits. I never expected to see one here....at my job of all places. I work
at night. Keeping teens out. I have only seen him once before, and it frightened me. He frightens me. Maybe
tomorrow I can try something...maybe talk to him...I just do not want to get hurt.

Dairy-Day two
He started following me around the next day. I found it odd. He would follow me! I went about my day, trying
to ignore the tiny creature about ten feet behind me. I cleaned the tombstones like normal and kept the flowers
as fresh as possible. I watered the grass and make everything look nice. I have been wondering what he wants.
I finally stopped once on break and crouched down. I held out a feather and placed it on the ground before
heading off to my normal spot by the weeping willow. He followed me, the feather gone. What he did with it is
beyond with me. I am just lucky and amazed he hasn't hurt me yet. I wonder what he wants.

Dairy-day three
I noticed he is getting closer. Last time he was following me, he was about ten feet behind me. Now he is like six
feet behind. What does he want. I try to keep the fear down. It is so hard when he is following me. What do I do?
I am so confused on why he started following me. Will he continue following me. Is he playing a game with me? I
may never know.

Dairy-day four
Today, he sat beside me while I ate my "breakfast". I was shocked he even was that close to me. He just sat in
front of me, with his head cocked to the side. I was scared, scared he would try to hurt me. I watched him. He
never talked...and I was starting to tense up, waiting for him to attack, but he never did, only watched as I stiffly ate.

Dairy-day five
He followed me home. He is starting to remind me of a duckling. Yesterday, I noticed he never hurt me, only
watched. Now he walks right behind me, like a weird little ghost like shadow. I find it funny and frightening at the
same time. Yesterday, I had started calling him Shigo..Japanese for after death. He reminds me of a ghost that
stayed behind. A spirit. After death. Fitting? I think it is. I let him follow me home. I just hope he doesn't destroy
anything...maybe this creature is a child in need of a friend or guardian...and did he choose me? A poor man who
works at a graveyard because nobody would accept me?

Dairy-day ten
I am shocked. For the past five days, Shigo has followed me everywhere. He spoke only once, but that was to say he
liked the name I gave him. I let him follow him as I try to keep on working. Nobody knows about him. Only me. I would
like to keep it that way. I will let him follow me. As long as he doesn't hurt me. I am happy that I have my job. Nobody
would be able to see him...and I don't have to worry about people trying to hound me about him.
