I love Sorren Fey's new rats. They remind me of those holograph stickers you used to see back in the '90s in the quarter machines. :)

Well, I don't mind if people don't like my designs/art or criticize them. Everybody's taste is different and on the other hand it could help to improve.

Yeah, the last one that grew kinda looked like seaweed under water. :D Just gorgeous.

I love the newborn design Sorren, the colors are so pastel-y and light. They remind me of the look of sunshine on the ocean floor, and how it makes a rainbow on the sand. :)

The neck and head seems to be held in a slightly akward position, from my perspective. Plus the fact the mane stops short of the ears, but continues past it threw me for a loop their. XD

All and all, very gorgeous artwork though! I love the hooves, legs and tail especially <3

Kiki wrote:Arabian horses are excatly like that. And the way the mane stops and then goes on is simply that the horse has something called a bridle path. The bridle path is the place behind a horse's ears that is kept shaved and clean and pretty. I ride Arabians, and yes, they do look like that. It kinda irks me you're caling this a mistake of some sort, as it is perfectly correct.

On another note, I squeeled when I saw the horses, equi! You are so talented! *hugs*

Woah, woah, woah people! I'm not calling it a mistake! I'm just trying to offer my own insight, nothing more. :?

Sorry, Equimagine if anything I said was taken the wrong way, or stung. I was honestly just trying to be helpful. I'm no horse person I admit, I just know the good old horses I help rescue around the area from abuse. Never seen an Arabian and when I looked at the pictures, your quite right. Never seen a horse quite like that.

Please don't jump on me though, I thought I was offering my own insight and being part of the discussion. I'll keep my opinions to myself next time though, since this seems to be such a hot issue. I wasn't around during the time Tess made that post, thus I shall refrain from such now on. :|

To be honest it's not just arabians that lift their tails, most horses will have their tails up when they are galloping. I think that if they were Arabs, she wouldn't of given them the spots like a paint horse, so i think they are paint horses :3

See, a paint horse with its tail up:

@TigressMin: I'm sorry if you felt that people were attacking you, that was not my intention. It is true that feelings can be hurt when people criticize work that the artists have spent many long days/hours on, and I really like what Tess said and ask that everyone keep that in mind when writing a post.

@Speckaroo: yes, holding the tail up during any type of forward motion is a sign of attentiveness in a horse, regardless of the breed. Bridlepaths are also clipped in most horses, although Arabians and most saddleseat horses tend to have the longest. I just happen to like the cleanliness of the look and so incorporated it into my design.

Luckily they don't have to stay forever. XD

the rats are what got me started on here- not only do i love the lineart for both the newborns and the adults, i love the huge variety of colors and designs, natural and not so natural. :-)

i think your newborns for this month are just lovely- in my opinion, it's just as beautiful as the adult versions. the colors on all are just breathtaking. these are going to rank in my all-time favorites. :-)
