Oh yeah, he's really pretty.

I'm going for #7, I have a HUGE idea for a story, and she will be perfect in it. If I get her I'll only need 11 more main charries before I start my story.

Name:
Asher
Character Thread:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=225524#p5804364
Breed/Species:
Paint X Shetland X Welsh/ Pony
Personality:
Asher is a very stubborn pony. He doesn't exactly like work but he does really enjoy jumping and running. His general attitude is sweet and nice, but stubborn and mean with small children during lessons. He loves affection and will stand for hours if directed. He gets attached to his owner or trainer mainly, but adores well mannered, well behaved children who do not kick and scream while on him.

He rarely gets ridden anymore by children and never does lessons, but that side of his personality will be released if needed. He is very well behaved now and, although stubborn, he is very friendly and sweet. He loves hugs and kisses from the main people and trainers in his life and also loves affection.
Other:
History: Asher grew up on a farm in Kentucky with a lot of other horses around, trained in all kinds of disciplines and of all different breeds and sizes. He was trained to be a show pony almost immediately after they saw how gorgeous his coloring was. He was trained extremely hard and that is how he developed his poor attitude, from harsh training and lack of affection.

Shortly later in his life, he was moved to another farm when his family gave up on him. Asher lived there for two years and gained back his calm, but stubborn attitude while he was there. The trainers at that farm were big on affection and love. He was shocked how nice and calm the people at this farm were so he tried to mimic their behavior. In the end though, Asher was moved again to a Professional Jumping and Eventing barn in Tennessee .

While at the Jumping and Eventing barn, Asher was trained more in jumping and eventing than he had been. At the other two barns he had been at, the trainers worked strictly on ground work and proper behavior. At this new professional barn, Asher was surrounded by World Class Jumping horses and Top Classes Eventing horses. All his days while he was there he was trained with more aggression, but he still received wonderful care and affection.

He stayed at the Professional barn once they realized his talent in Pony Jumpers and Short Course eventing. He was assigned to one trainer and that trainer showed him in both of those disciplines. His first show/event, he took first place in both classes and ended the show as Champion. His trainer got a small trophy, which she displayed in his stall, and all his ribbons he had won. She was super proud of him.

Asher continued to compete in horse show all around the Tennessee and and East Coast of the United States. Him and his trained continued to come out on top and never had a bad show. The only bad thing that ever happened was they were at a Top Class eventing show and Asher hit a log and tripped. He was out for a month due to a leg injury and his trainer was out for a month and a half due to a shoulder fracture.

But, They both recovered fully and went back to show and came back out on top. His trainer went on to college but he went with her. She later purchased Asher and after college, they both got offers to be on the U.S Equestrian Team. In the pony division of coarse! They took the offer and were on the team. They now compete all over the world with the Equestrian team and they are an unstoppable team.

Story Behind Blue Markings and Blue Mane/Tail/Forelock Tips: When at his first barn, Asher was used as a lesson, trail ride, and camp pony. During the camp part of this barn, during the summer, they would let the kids paint ponies. One group of older kids who were forced to go to the camp thought it would be funny if they replaced the washable paint to dye that would never wash out. Of coarse, it wouldn't harm Asher, he would just be blue forever wherever they painted.

The goal of painting was the best and most artistic horse or pony won, so they didn't use much paint on Asher. They did elegant designs on his one back leg and face, and painted the tips of his mane, tail, and forelock blue. They won most beautiful design and when the grooms went to wash the paint off, they were shocked at what they discovered. Asher had been turned blue.

They tried everything to try and get the paint off, but it just wouldn't come off. And since they painted on the last day of camp, they could not reprimand the kids who had done this. That is another reason Asher was shipped to another barn. The barn did not want a blue pony.

How Asher and His Trainer Came to be: "Come on! We're going to be late mom! The new horses and ponies are coming in today!" That was the first thing I shouted at my mom the day I met Asher. Hi, I'm JR and I'm a 15 year old girl living in Tennessee. I have been riding since I was born (Technically since I was 3 months old. Thats when I got my first picture on my aunt's horse) and have showed since I was three. Now I train horses and show in top class shows.

My mother is always running late and today was not a day to be late. All the new horses and ponies were being trailered in today and since I am currently looking for a horse or pony, I had to be there. They said we were getting rescue horses, for the first time in forever, which meant I would probably be training a lot of horses and ponies soon.

Anyway, 15 minutes late, we finally made it to the barn. They were already unloading the horses and ponies out of our Mega Trailer and moving them to the training barn. Some of the horses and ponies clearly didn't belong here, but others were remarkably gorgeous and looked very talented. I walked over to my instructor and barn mates and asked what was going on and what I had missed.

"We're just unloading the horses and ponies and getting them situated into stalls and such." My instructor informed me. "You missed the ponies. There's a few really pretty ones you might want to check out." Alison informed me. Alison owned several horses since her dad founded a major corporation. "Just don't ask anyone about any of the horses' stories. Some are really sad, they might make you cry." Kate told me. Kate was a tall girl who normally wasn't very nice.

Once all the horses and ponies were unloaded and in they're assigned stalls, feeding began. These horses and ponies had been shipped in from Kentucky and hadn't been fed all day. I was in charge pf feeding 5 of the twenty horses and ponies we had just received. I started with the giant Clydesdale and then went down the row.

My last pony to feed was named Asher. Apparently, his new nickname is Blue, and I have no idea why. When I brought the bucket of food in, I instantly knew why he was now called "Blue". Someone had dyed parts of Asher blue! I was shocked at what he looked like, but as soon as I looked into that little pony's blue eyes, I immediately knew he was the pony I was going to train. I gave him his food and gently stroked his neck.

After he finished eating, I asked my instructor if I could try him out for a ride. Of coarse she said yes, I mean, how could she say no to her top trainer? Anyway, I took Asher out on our extensive trails and trotted him for a while. Since I am a short and small girl, I can ride small ponies like Asher without a problem. We were really bonding and he seemed to really like me. Next I took him to the Show Jumping arena.

Our Show Jumping arena was quite large. It was an indoor arena, so we could ride no matter what the weather. Asher seemed surprised once he entered the arena. His ears perked up and he seemed ready to go. I warmed him up a little and then I took him over some small jumps, about 2 foot. He had a very rough way of jumping which made me uneasy because I thought he was going to hurt himself. But over all, he was pretty good. I knew, with some fine tuning, he could be a champion.

After Show Jumping, I took him back up to the barn and dismounted. My instructor was waiting there when I entered the barn. "So, how do you like him?" she asked. "I like him a lot. Jumping needs some work, but he's very sweet." I said to her. She seemed pleased and glad at the same time. "I was afraid that if you didn't like him, we'd have to send him back," she sighed and then spoke again. "He's going out tonight, so could you please put him in the back field." I was happy to do what she wanted me to with him. "Sure, no problem." I responded. "Thanks, see you tomorrow." And that was my first day with Asher.
