Why do you want this character?I really couldn't put my finger on why I love this character. I was just scrolling through the kennels, and his design just caught my eye and pulled me in. No matter how much farther I scrolled, I couldn't get him out of my head, so I decided that, since I couldn't stop thinking about him, I'd try out for him. I don't normally go for such simple designs - I like complex, difficult-to-draw-correctly characters, especially when speaking of canines. However, I have found that I'm very intrigued about this little one, and think he'll be well loved with me. Like, every time I look at him, I just get this instant reaction of, "Aw, he's so cute!" and that's sort of why I'd like him.
Also, Bentley donated him here. Bentley is a great person here on CS, so I wouldn't mind adopting him for that reason, too.
Where will you use it, and what will you use it for?I'll definitely use him as a character, probably making and ordering art of him (though probably making it most of the time, as his design is very simple). I'd also put him on my weebly, which is a WIP, so I'm not ready to post the link here just yet. XD

♂ Personality:AdventurousDylan doesn't ever shy away from a chance at adventure and mystery, so you can always count on him being in the middle of things! If there's a fight, he'll either be in the ring or surrounding it - if there's a race, he'll be the one running. He's always caught up in the current of excitement and thrill.
Doesn't Back DownDylan is very brave and practically fearless. The only thing he slightly fears is a manticore, honestly. He fears more emotional things than physical things - he fears losing those he loves, mainly...but because very few of his family members are still alive, he doesn't generally have to worry about losing them.
Powerful, but to a FaultWhile Dylan is one of the best monster hunters of his time, he sometimes lets the popularity get to his head. He doesn't always stay humble, and most of the time, he flaunts his talents in a flashy and puffed-up way, very filled with pride. He is extremely talented and helps many beings get out of sticky situations, but sometimes gives off a very bad vibe due to his bragging.
KindWhen he's not bragging or being prideful, Dylan is really a sweet guy. He only wants to help others, especially children, who need the most help learning life's lessons.

History:As he raced from the manticore, his breath came in ragged gasps. The golden goblet was gasped tightly in his jaws as he raced ahead, feeling the ground shake from the massive creature following close behind. The shadow of the beast fell over him, and he started shaking in fear, trying his hardest to keep his legs pumping up and down, keeping his breathing as normal as possible. He could hear the blood rushing through his body, and as he gasped for air, the goblet tumbled from his mouth. He turned and grasped it, glancing up as the shadow overcame him again.
He growled, leaping over to a tree and stashing the cup inside. He turned to face the beast before him.
The manticore roared.
Saliva stuck onto the pup's ears.
He shook his head, clearing the spit from himself. He growled at the creature before him, getting low to the ground for an attack. "I NEED that goblet."
"And I need YOU for dinner."
His eyes narrowed. "You clearly don't know who I am,
kitty cat."
The creature snarled at the insult. "You dare insult me?!"
"You dare not know who I am."
Pausing for only a moment, the creature studied him. "And who exactly ARE you?"
"Dylan Omicron. You'd do well to fear me."
Three days earlier...
Dylan awoke at his house, rolling out of bed. He yawned, stretching after the long night of restlessness. He sighed, slipping on his headphones and plugging them into his iPod, starting his day as he always did: with music. On his playlist today were songs by
H8_Seed. Yesterday it was
Wooden Toaster. Quite honestly, his iPod went on random and just picked out odd songs for him, but he didn't mind - he liked everything on the little machine, so he didn't mind being surprised by the songs that came up.
"Dylan! Come down for breakfast!"
Dylan yawned again, taking off his iPod and headphones and setting them into his backpack, slinging it onto his back. The bright red color was similar to his hair, though he hadn't planned on buying it - his mother had bought it for him as a Christmas present.
He trotted out to the kitchen, wondering where his mother was. He could've sworn he'd just heard her call -
Suddenly, he was bowled over, a vicious-looking
Fury screeching at him. And where there was one Fury, there was bound to be another.
Dylan's eyes narrowed and he shoved the large creature off with a paw. "Please," he said, rolling his eyes. "You'll have to do better than THAT to beat me."
The Fury screeched once more, but setting eyes on Dylan's bored expression, she decided to give up. She turned and flew away, calling her sister after her.
Dylan shrugged, turning to the table. "Cereal. Soggy." He shook his head. "Wish I would've gotten here sooner."
He grabbed his father's sword, slinging it around his neck and sticking a leg through the strap. He then grabbed his mother's bow and arrows, slinging those on his back as well. He slipped on his headphones, sticking the ipod in his backpack which was being dragged behind him in the wagon which he'd tied to his tail and was wheeling along after himself.
He walked out his front door, armed with as much ammo as he could possibly carry. He slipped on his sunglasses, flinching from the bright light that blinded him as he walked out into the sunny day.
He smiled as
a song started playing on his iPod. He walked in time with the beat, nodding his head to the music.
The two furies had circled about, spotting Dylan as he walked to school.
Dylan shrugged, grabbing the sword from his back with his teeth and swinging it menacingly at the two furies. It was enough to scare them off. Putting it back in its sheath, he started walking off again.
When he reached the first house on his list of stops, he knocked on the door.
It slowly creaked open, and then he found himself being pulled inside. "Quickly!" hissed the cat as she slammed the door behind him, padlocking it in every way imaginable. "You go out there, you're mincemeat!"
"Clara," he said, smiling, "I've explained this to you. I'm a
monster hunter. I
hunt the
monsters outside."
"That's foolish talking!" she hissed again. "Why, I have half a mind to whip you on the - "
"Grammy?" a tiny kitten asked, popping his head out from behind the couch.
Clara turned. "Yes, my sweet?"
"Can I come out now?"
"No! You stay back there until the monsters go away."
"But I'm not as scared of the monsters as you and Mom are."
"STAY BACK THERE!"
He sighed, rolling into a ball. "Yes, Grammy."
Dylan frowned. "If he's to stay back there 'til the monsters go away...Clara, he'll be back there for most of his life. This infestation is huge, and I can't fight off more than thirty a day. Even at that rate - not counting the fact that they reproduce faster than rabbits - it will still take years to get all of the monsters out of our city. If you want to protect him, let him come with me, or at least watch what I do when I work, so he can fight off his own monsters instead of being cooped up in this house."
"Get. Out."
"Sorry?"
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" she screeched, slashing the air with her claws.
Dylan leapt back, yelping in surprise as he tore out of her house, unlocking the front door and racing down the street.
"AND IF YOU EVER COME BACK," she yelled after him, "I'LL CLAW YOUR EARS OFF!"
