A few months ago a group of my 'real life' friends started making their own jbds. They aren't very active here on chicken smoothie but when I finally expressed my desire for a jbd they fell in love too. They then started making their own jbds and treating them as if they were 'real' ones that they had adopted {they obviously weren't} I was very angry with them as ive been an active member on the jbd fanclub for nearly a year now and have been working towards my first jbd for 2 years. Then they go and rub their made up ones in my face. I expressed al the rules to them of the neon colours, tail stripes, and the main one, they are not an open species and they needed to stop making them. They brought up a good point tho, what could the jbd owners do about it? I convinced them to finally take the design and put it on a wolf/dogs form. Now since jbds have closed tho they have taken the designs and put them back onto jbds and are back to the way they were.
Well as for my question, what will the jbd community do for these kinds of things? Even going to the extreme as to completely ban them from cs wouldn't get rid of their 'jbds'. Nor would it really phase them, as I said they very active on cs.
I know I may be blowing this out of proportion but as for trying my hardest for 2 years to win my first bean this really bothers me. And im not only asking for this case because im sure this cant be the first time someone was so impatient as to make their own 'jbd' and probably not the last time as they have closed with so many still wanting one.
Thank you so much for your time, and im deeply sorry for how long and drawn out this is. I wanted to go into detail as of my thoughts on the situation as well as my personal experience. Thanks again ahead of time for any sort of answer you could give.
And please don't answer if your not a mod like ive stated I want a 'professionals' answer.
No one has answered my question and id rather not ask any particular mod {as in pm} as id like someone who thinks they can answer more accurately than just a random mods opinion.
It depends on what the owner of the species would do really, as members that own them have no real power to protect them. Unless you know, they stalk them everywhere they go to foil their plans on selling them or claiming the species as their own. But really there is no protection for them unless their copyrighted, and by copyrighted I mean by the law. Where fines and going to court is involved. There are people like that that see something that they either cant have or have it and think I can make this on my own, and they will unless otherwise warned that they are copyrighted. I spotted this happening on FA with a breedable doll. Warning them, as well as alerting them it was copyrighted as well as alerting the "adviser" of the breedable dolls to keep an eye on them.
I mean in all honesty look at all the fake breeds that pop up when a adoptable becomes really popular. They're allowed to fully exist even though their whole existence is based on one person seeing a really cool and popular adoptable and saying I can make that. Or hey, a lot of people cant get these maybe I'll make something similar and get pets for them or glory; (really who knows what their thinking) But like I said there is a lot of adoptables that spring up when one is doing well and it generally looks like them, acts like them, or has one of their attributes. or all the above. I think honestly there are people that imagine what a certain adoptable would look like in their head. Basically a dream. or a custom. I mean who doesn't think about one day becoming an artist for a species and being really good.
~But im a mod of a formerly popular adoptable. And we've had to deal with art theft a few times. I've even had to watch the forums for knock offs. Im just glad it wasn't a bunch of them stolen and sold being with how popular we used to be. Really I wouldn't let it bother you until they get all huffity puffity about them and think they can sell them. That's when the real issue begins. Just let someone; or a few of the jbd staff know about your issue. Perhaps they can contact the owner? and see what they want done about it.
As for your friend, I would personally mention that they must feel so incompetent about their own skills and ideas that they have to steal someone else's hard work says a lot about themselves. But that's just me, I feel like I should tell someone that aligns themselves with me if they're doing something wrong. Reguardless of the outcome. Also even if they aren't active on Chicken smoothie, if the fakes are seen on any other sites they can and will be removed

and they banned.
