Username ;;
Dovepawlover

Name ;;
Enobuthi, translating
to 'Toxic' in Zulu.

Gender ;;
Female.

Kennel Number ;;
Eleven, 11.

Species ;;
Cat; feline.

Breed ;;
She is a Cinnamon
British Shorthair
with a bit of
American Shorthair
in her.

Odd Markings/Scars ;;
She has a green
tail-tip that was
once white, and
green spots on
her side that
were also once
white. There is
a long scar on her
right side from
when she escaped
from the Lab.

Why Would You Like This Character/What Will You Do For This Character? ;;

This character has a simple design, yet is beautiful in every way.
I try to get characters like this; such as my characters Patches, Waterstar and Christopher.
It actually really upsets me when people only go for the characters with items, bright designs, or even missing body parts.
These guys are always the ones left, and are always my favorite of the bunch.
I would like Enobuthi because I think, no I know, that she deserves some love and a good home.

I'd make art for her as well as order as much as I can before I run out of rare CS pets.
I've also mentioned before, on I think the SCAA, that I sometimes right novels.
Because of my need for practice, I'd try to write a book all about her, featuring her entire life in extended form.
She would get her own post on my character thread as well.

Personality ;;

Courageous | Brave | Strong Willed | Leader | Loving

Enobuthi has always been courageous, it's just how she is.
Often you will find her plunging into things that seem im-
possible; things others are to scared to do. Though som-
etimes her courage does falter, as it does with everyone.
Others sometimes say that this is because she only 'fakes'
being courageous. She herself says it's because nobody is
perfect at everything, no matter how hard they try to be.

Being brave is a lot like being courageous, though are two
different things. When Enobuthi decides to do something,
breaking out of the lab for example, she relies on her br-
avery and courageousness to finish what she set out to do.
Without it, it wouldn't matter if she were courageous. If
she weren't brave in the face of danger, she wouldn't have
lasted a minute of her life so far.

Enobuthi is very strong-willed, or as some might say, stu-
bborn. After she has decided something, it's hard to make
her change her mind. Though this is sometimes a bad pe-
rsonality trait, it does help when others try to manipulate
her. Most people fall easily under pressure as well, but she
has learned to block out others when they speak. It may be
a bit rude, but it has saved her from choosing the wrong
choice many, many times.

A natural leader, some might say. Enobuthi often takes c-
harges when a leader looses it, or when things are going
down hill. She has an air of authority and the much need-
ed strength of a leader. You couldn't wish for a better pe-
rson, or cat, to follow.

Enobuthi may be stubborn and brave, courageous and a
born leader. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have a h-
eart. She is surprisingly loving and gentle, even more so
to young or injured. She is a bit slower to forgive, thou-
gh. While she wouldn't think twice about saving a bysta-
nder's, or a friend's, life, it takes her awhile to forgive
someone for a horrible deed.

History ;;

A quiet snowfall fell onto the fur of a small brown-chestnut kitten. She lay on a slight hill in the middle of an alley way. The trash and dumpsters were covered with the powder as well, making them seem pretty or actually natural. There was silence in the alley; nothing moved but the little kitten's chest. Everything was peaceful. At least, for a moment.

There was a slight rumble and the ground shook. The kitten's ears flickered slightly and she raised her head. Her bright green eyes were watering and the fur around them was wet. Her cheek bones jutted out a bit from lack of food, a slight bald patch on one ear from a bite she got not long ago. The kitten was alert, ears swiveling around to hear the sound again. She barely caught it, it was no more than two alleys down. A large car, but not the trash truck. Dog catcher maybe? The kitten thought to herself. If it were the dog catcher she wasn't in any trouble, being a cat and all. She lowered her head and closed her eyes. Bones aching from cold, she drifted off.

She didn't have time to react when the car was coming down the alley. One moment she was fast asleep, the next she was in a net. The human who caught her, a large funny-smelling man, opened the rear end of the truck and threw her into a cage. All around her were other animals- a raccoon, a couple crows, two doves, at least a dozen dogs, and three cats. Plus something else that looked like a dog, yet had a different scent. A fox maybe? She was unsure, as it was white, not orange. They were all in cages similar to hers. But there were to many animals and not enough kennels. She saw three dogs stuck in the same cage, as well as the white-fox-thing in with a cat. It was lucky that the cat was bigger than the fox-thing or it might have eaten it to have more room, as well as a snack. The kitten was just realizing three things when the door shut: one, she was being caught by someone like the dog catcher. Two, she was trapped with no way out. And three, this had no way of ending well for her.

She let out a yowl of despair that started the dogs howling and the birds cawing. Through the low window on the trunk door, the small hill was just visible. A slight gust of wind came from farther down the alley and blew the snow. Mini snowballs rolled down the small hill, or, what looked like a hill. A faint patch of chestnut-brown fur was visible from the snow. The hill wasn't a hill. It was a cat.

Good bye, Mama... The kitten thought sadly as she was rapidly driven away. I'll always remember you... The kitten curled up in her kennel, shivering from cold. This is it, she thought as she slid back and forth in the cage silently crying. I'm gonna die. Oh, but she didn't die. She lived through the day and many after. Death would have been more merciful, though, even for one so young. Because she didn't go to the pound.

She went to the Lab.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three years past and the kitten, now full grown, was still alive.
Enobuthi stalked back and forth at her cage's door, her stomach growling. Where was her dinner? She had been through two tests that day- which meant she got two meals. Had they changed the system? Did everyone only get one meal a day now? She sure hoped not. It was bad enough being in a cage for hours each day. One meal would make it even worse.
She yowled as loudly as she dared, trying to remind them she, as well as everyone else, was hungry. A moment later a man, the same one who had caught her, came and hit her cage door. She stood her ground and didn't jump away, which seemed to make him even more irritated. Happy to have upset him, she yowled again. The man grumbled and opened the cage. With a loud thud, he dropped in a food dish. It was half filled with little kibble that looked like fish. She bent down and began to eat, barely keeping from scarfing it right away. She had to make it last as long as possible.
She heard the others around her woofing and mewling as food was given to them. Unlike her, they ate theirs in a second flat. Probably hoping to get a stomach ache. She thought with a snort as she slowly ate. If they got sick from eating to quickly or as a side effect of a test, they were given up to a week of rest. Sure, that sounded great, but if you don't have any tests done you only get one meal, sometimes none. Two tests, two meals. Three tests, three meals. You get the point.
She sighed and sat down. She had a little food left in her bowl for later. Really no point in eating it if she didn't have to. Her eyes traveled across the room outside of her cage, watching the other animals eat.
The room was white with slight splashes of gray and black on objects like tables or chairs. Embedded in the wall across from her were many, many more cages. A few held dogs, mostly pit-bulls and mutts, but most held cats. Each and every animal had been caught and brought here against their will. Well, not all of them. The truly desperate dogs and cats just show up in hopes of having daily meals. They had no idea what they were getting into.
Averting her gaze from the other animals, she continued to look around. There were two large glass doors at one side of the room- one going into the Testing Room, the other into the Hall. On the other side, the right, there were three more doors, all made of iron or some other kind of metal. One was just a closet, but the other two led into huge rooms were the animals were let loose for an hour a day. One for dogs, one for cats. The birds might have a room, too, but she wasn't sure, as they were somewhere else in the building. As she looked at the door with a big C on it, her paws itched to run. They were usually let out after the tests were done and everyone was fed. That would be any minute now.
She restlessly started circling her cage. It wasn't big, only enough room for her bowls, her torn up bed, and a few inches of floor. She circled the kennel a good twelve times before she stopped in her tracks. She was facing the room and a woman was just coming in. In her arms were two kittens, each still fluffy with kitten fur. Not more than three months old... Her heart hurt as she watched them. She wasn't much older when she was brought here.
The woman put them into the cage next to her, shutting the door so quickly that one of the kitten's paws was crushed. That or their tail, she couldn't be sure. The kitten yowled with pain, the other one purring to calm them. The woman opened the cage a minute later and dropped in a dish, then she just turned and walked away. Enobuthi distantly wondered how the woman could bare doing that; locking two kittens in a tiny cage where they would wait until they were used in experiments. Swallowing a growl of disgust, she stuck her head partway through the bars of the cage. The kittens were still mewling.
"Hello there," she said with all the kindness she could muster. She hated this 'welcoming' thing the older cats had come up with. When kittens were brought into the Lab, a cat next to their cage has to welcome them so they know they are with friends, not enemies. She snorted at how stupid it was as she spoke. "Welcome to the Lab."
There was silence for a moment then a kitten's head poked through the bars. They could fit their whole head out, unlike her. "Hello." The kitten, a tom, responded. His litter-mate whimpered behind him. Though the kitten seemed calm, she could see fear in his eyes.
Sympathy for the kitten welled in her. His sister's head poked out under him, and that sympathy only grew. The she-kit's cheeks stuck out from starvation and her eyes were dull. She was much smaller than her brother and her fur was matted. She searched for something to say but couldn't think of anything helpful. "You might want to eat that kibble before it's time to be let out. Sometimes the Coats come and take the bowls." She finally said. Coats was the name the other cats had given the human workers. Fit pretty good, as she had never seen one without a white coat on.
The tom looked out at the men feeding the animals and seemed to get the name. "Thanks." Him and his sister went back in, and a moment later she heard them gorging themselves. She sighed and went back to her own food dish. She licked up the remaining kibble and went and laid down. Might as well get some shut eye before she ran for an hour straight.
She was awoken as a hand wrapped around her. She hissed as it grabbed her and pulled her from the cage. A loop was put around her neck and she was set down onto the floor. It tightened the moment the hand was gone and she strained to breath. The dogs barked at the cats as they were let out, desperately trying to get one but unable because of the loop. The 'Coats' held onto poles attached to the loop and were tugging the dogs to the door marked D. As the dogs were dragged through, the remaining Coats were pulling the cages from the cages. The more feral ones or older ones with loops on their necks, the younger ones just being held.
A minute later she was being dragged through the door marked C. As much as she wanted to run, she loved to put up a fight with the Coats. They got irritated so easily, it was just funny. She stopped struggling when her paws touched concrete, knowing they'd only be scraped raw. The whole room's floor was concrete, not even tile like in the Lab. In the center there was a small drain, and in one corner there was a sink. Next to it was a hose. A lot of the younger cats, even some of the elderly, made messes in here.
She was dragged into the corner of a room where the loop was taken off her neck. Instead of running towards the door, she sat down and waited. When a cat tried to escape, they were locked up in their kennel with no water. She knew that first hand- she had tried to get out a dozen times in the past month. All tries failed. Badly.
The other cats, other than the newbies, knew this as well. When they were let off their leash, they ether sat down or walked over to a friend. She saw one cat dart towards the door, only to turn around when the remaining dogs in the Lab started to bark. She waited quietly as the cats were brought in. There was Purdy, along with Jac and Tick. Behind them were Lil and Phil, two siblings who were double her age and always stuck together. Except the new arrivals, she knew the names of all the cats there.
When the cats were all let loose, the door was bolted behind the Coats. The moment it was shut, the kittens ran over and started roughhousing in the hose. The mothers of them, or ones who lost their own kits, padded over to watch them and gossip. The remaining cats started running laps around the room to stretch their legs or just started to speak to one another.
Enobuthi braced herself to start running, but then she saw the two new kittens. The she-kit looked even smaller now that she saw her whole body. Torn between running and welcoming them, she just stood there. After a moment she sighed and padded over. "Hello again." She mewed when she was close.
The she-kit hid behind her brother, who's fur was a bit on end. He relaxed when he recognized her and sat down, slowly nosing his sister out from behind him. "Hey." He said evenly. They sat there in silence for what felt like hours. Finally, the tom spoke again. "We never caught your name. I'm Badger, this is Bird." Badger flicked his tail at his sister. It was then Enobuthi noticed the white stripe running down Badger's face and back. The rest of his fur was brown-black. He actually did look like a badger. Bird's fur was more of a brown-gray, with a slight white patch on one foot.
"I'm Enobuthi." She said, and Bird tilted her head.
"What kind of name is that?" Bird spoke for the first time, and Enobuthi was distantly hurt.
Badger cuffed his sister on the ear. "Have some manners, Bird, she is the only cat who has even spoken to us here." He said quietly, mouthing each word to her after saying them. He then looked back up at Enobuthi. "What is this place anyway?"
Enobuthi swallowed, thinking of what to say. The Lab is where the Coats and other humans tried to find cures for illnesses, animal and human, by testing cures on the sick animals. Sometimes the animals were cured, other times the 'cures' made them very sick- and they were given more 'cures' to try and heal them. Sometimes the animals died. Aside from that, they also experimented. They injected the healthy animals with weird things, causing them to get sick (so that they could test cures on them again), become a little kookoo, or have something just plain weird happen to them. Enobuthi had been in at least a hundred of those tests so far. In the third one, she was given a shot that turned every white patch of fur bright green. Last month the fur started to glow. That just freaked her out. All that alone was scary, but they did one other thing as well. They created hybrid animals- foxes that were half dog or wolf, cats that were half lion, just strange things. These hybrids were sold to private buyers, as she knew because that fox-thing she saw the day she was caught was one of them. The poor thing was half cat and half fennec fox, how ever that worked, and had gotten out of the Lab. On her way inside the building, she saw it being handed over to a fat woman and shoved into the back of an expensive looking car. Never heard about or saw it again.
She looked at the kittens and gave them her best smile. "This is a place where you are safe from cars and dogs, and fed everyday. You're safe here." She lied, then flicked her tail to the kittens at the hose. "Why don't you to go meet some of the other cats your age? You should make friends your first day, so that tomorrow you'll have someone to talk to." Badger nodded his head, leading Bird over to the other kits. She sat there and watched them for a moment, then prepared to run again. She was just launching off when a cat called her name. "Enobuthi!"
What now? Snorting, she turned around. Purdy and Tick were both there, along with Tick's sister Tock and Baxter. Purdy was a short, frizzle-furred tom with a sand colored pelt with flecks of gray. Tick and Tock were identical silver tabby she-cats. Baxter was a huge Norwegian Forest Cat Toyger mix with a ton of different shades of brown, black, and dark yellow. Gritting her teeth, she dipped her head. Baxter wasn't only the biggest cat in the bunch, he was basically their leader. He had been there for longer than anyone could remember, and rumor has it he died during one of the tests. He supposedly came back from the dead a few hours later. She didn't believe it at first, but then her fur started to glow. Guess anything could happen.
"Who were those kittens-" "You were just talking to?" Tick finished Tock's sentence. She shivered at that- it freaked her out how they seemed to be able to read each other's minds. Sometimes it was more scary than her neon patches of fur. Not that she scared easily. She was actually pretty hard to actually scare. Though she does admit to be freaked out sometimes.
"Badger and Bird. They arrived at Feeding Time." Enobuthi responded while she tried to figure out what cat was Tick and what one was Tock. Not only did they look alike, they sounded alike.
"Newbies?" Purdy perked up. "Did you give them the welcome?" Baxter and him eyed her expectantly. It had been Purdy's idea to start the thing, and Baxter, as well as the other Elderly, had voted with him.
"Ya, I did." She thought she saw Tick and Tock release a held breath. She snorted once again. I may not like rules, but that doesn't mean I break them... All the time. She looked away from them and at her paws. Everyone acts as if I disrespect everything. Though I don't like the 'Welcoming', it doesn't mean I'll shun the kittens when they're so scared, even if they try to hide it.
Baxter seemed to read her mind and quietly hissed. "Just making sure. We don't know what to expect from one of your kind."
She knew what he meant. The normal-ish cats who hadn't had bad effects from experiments usually beat up on or shunned the ones like her. From the corner of her eye, she saw Purdy shoot the tomcat a glance, though said nothing. The Elder may not like the way Baxter spoke, but he was smart enough to keep quiet.
After standing there in silence for a moment, Baxter turned around. "Lets go introduce those two kittens to everyone." And make sure they know you're boss She held back her comment as he stalked away, closely followed by Tick and Tock.
Purdy came over and nosed her head. "Don't let him get to you. I think he is just nervous."
Enobuthi looked up at the Elder. "Nervous? What could he be nervous about?"
The tomcat looked at her questioningly. "Um, the new tom. Didn't you see him? He is almost twice Baxter's size, and is friendly. Everyone loves him already, and a lot of them seem to be ignoring Baxter." He flicked his tail to the cluster of cats in the corner. A huge leopard-colored tomcat sat in the middle of a group of she-cats, kits, and elderly tomcats. Baxter's bunch, Tick, Tock and the remaining toms, sat away from them in the other corner.
She grinned. "Looks like he has something to worry about after all," dropping her voice, she whispered to Purdy. "Though I haven't met him yet, I hope he does take over. Anything is better than Baxter."
Purdy glanced at Baxter then gave a short, quick nod of his head. "I should go. I know this sounds stupid, but I want to keep on Baxter's good side until we know what James wants. If he remains leader, I don't want him beating me up for being nice to him," he turned around. "Though if James does take over, I'll be the first one to become loyal to him. I really... Dislike Baxter." With that he hurried away.
James? She guessed that was the new cat's name. And what was up with Purdy? It's like he was just sticking to the winning side. Guess that's pretty smart. Stay with Baxter and he remains leader, he would trust you more. Leave him and become one of James' followers, he'd just think you were thinking about it before. She realized that that kinda rhymed, and slightly chuckled. Guess I'll go meet James. She began to walk over when there was a loud whack! as the door's bolt came out. A moment later the Coats came in, brandishing their long poles with hoops at one end.
A Coat slipped a loop around her neck and dragged her out of the room. She struggled against them not because she wanted to meet James, but because she had never gotten to stretch her legs and run. She gave up when she could barely breath. Tomorrow, I'm gonna run before I talk to anyone. My legs get so cramped in that kennel.
But she wasn't let out the next day. Nobody was.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Enobuthi awoke the next morning to a Coat throwing in her breakfast. All the animals were given one meal in the morning, whether they were going into tests that day or not. She hissed at the loud clang it made as the dish hit the metal floor of the kennel. After the echo of it was gone, she stepped over and began eating.

As she munched away at the tasteless kibble, her fur slowly rose on her neck. Something wasn't right. She stopped eating and sniffed the kibble. Perfectly horrible smelling as usual. Cocking her head, she stepped over the food and went to her cage's door. Everything seemed the same across the room. She stuck her head out through the bars and looked at the cats around her. Her heart lurched when a stink came from the kennel besides her. With a shock, she realized it was from Badger and Bird's kennel.

"Badger? Bird?" She asked, feeling herself become rather anxious. There was a faint noise from inside the kennel, and the shuffling of paws. And the dull thud of something hard hitting the metal ground. Badger stuck his head through the cage's opening and looked at her. Her mouth literally opened with shock. Even without the kit saying anything, she knew what had happened.

Bird had died.

She stared at the poor kitten's wet face, following the tear tracks to a patch of blood on his chin. It didn't seem to be his, and that freaked her out even more. "How?" She asked.

Badger was silent for a moment. "That big cat, the huge slightly fat one with the cats following him." Baxter She suppressed a hiss. Why would Baxter kill a defenseless kitten? As if reading her thoughts, Badger continued. "He came over and introduced me and Bird to his gang. But Bird..." He trailed off for a moment, and she thought he had decided to stop talking. After a minute, he started up again. "Our mother died before she could teach Bird any manners. I've spent so much time trying to keep her safe, I didn't give it any thought..." More tears fell down his cheeks. "She asked Baxter why he was so fat, and he hit her on the head, claws out. A minute later those humans, the Coats, right? They came in before anyone else noticed. Picked us up and brought us back in here. Bird... She acted as if she were in a daze. I found her in the corner when I woke up... She had two gashes on her neck..." By now the kitten's eyes were streaming a steady flow of tears.

Enobuthi desperately wanted to comfort the kit, tell him she knew how it felt to loose family, that time would heal his heart. But everything she was going to say melted on her tongue, being replaced by anger. Baxter was going to pay for doing that.

She opened her mouth to speak just as a Coat came over. It held two tiny food bowls in it's fur-less paws. It set one on top of the other then opened the cage. She set them inside, and probably would have left without even noticing Bird if it hadn't been for Badger. The poor kitten ran up to the Coat and burrowed into her sleeve. The Coat made a sound that sounded like amusement as she pulled him out. She held him in one hand, stroking his fur, when she noticed his wet face. And the blood. She set him back inside the cage and finally noticed Bird. Enobuthi heard a gasp escape her as she pulled the stiff kitten out.

Bird's neck was covered with blood, how Badger hadn't noticed it before she didn't know. Her eyes were wide open and her head at a strange angel, as if she had been stretching. Her wide-open eyes were glazed over, and her pelt was soaked with Badger's tears. The Coat looked from Bird to Badger, then grabbed Badger. She gently set Bird down in the kennel, then flipped Badger all around. She looked at his paws and at his mouth for awhile, sometimes checking the same feet twice. After what felt like hours, she put him back in the cage, grabbed Bird, and left.

What was that all about..? Enobuthi thought. She looked over at Badger's kennel, but the tom was gone. She heard him curl up in the corner, and a moment later, his quiet cries as he mourned for his dead sister.

With a sigh of sadness, anger, and so many other emotions, Enobuthi went back to her food dish. She stared at it for awhile, then kicked it over. Brown and orange kibble flew into the walls, clattering to the floor. Hissing to herself, she stalked over to her bed. She clawed out some more of the fluff and laid down. I swear, next time I see Baxter, he will pay.

But Baxter is bigger than you. He might kill you as easily as he did Bird. Her inner-voice told her. Oh, shut up. She responded to herself. She pawed her face. Look at me- fighting with myself. Dragging her paw down her face, she sighed. Then all of the sudden, a plan popped into her head.

She thought it over for a few minutes, working out the kinks and thinking it over. Might just work... Satisfied, she curled up to nap. Considering the amount of food she was given, she was in for a few tests that day. Might as well sleep as long as possible. I'll- She paused to yawn. gather everyone when it's time to be let out.

She woke up when the Coats came to get her. Two hours later, she was brought back. Her rump hurt from the dozen shots they had given her that day, and her stomach was eating her insides. She scraped together the kibble, then ate it in a few bites. Tasted even worse after being on the floor. She turned and got a drink of water, then padded over to her bed to wait until they were let loose.

She waited. And waited. And waited.

The Coats shut off the lights, fed the animals, and left. She wondered why they weren't being let out, then remembered. Bird. The female-Coat probably saw the claw marks, then saw Badger didn't have blood on his paws. If the Coat was smart enough, she would have known one of the other cats had done it. She almost laughed when she thought about this, but the sadness for Bird kept her from it. They're trying to keep us safe from each other- but yet they've killed to many cats, dogs, and birds to count.

Enobuthi let out a slight hiss and laid down. There was always tomorrow.

At least, she thought there was.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the next week, she and the other animals were kept inside the pens. A lot of the cats around her grew fat. There wasn't much to do other than nap and eat anyway. Strangely, she didn't gain any weight. Enobuthi blamed it on the experiments. She bet at least one of them was made to keep house-cats trim, no matter what they ate. If that were the case, then the Coats actually made a working treatment... For once.
Finally, when she thought she was going to explode from boredom, they were let back out. Only good thing about being kept in there was that she got to review her plan. She actually believed it could work. As a Coat dragged her into the room, she didn't resist. She walked ahead of them and was the first one to be let go. Somehow, the roomed seemed... Bigger after being in that cage.
She sprang over to the hose in the corner and dragged it over the drain in the center of the room. Luckily, it wasn't attacked to the pipe at the moment. She stood on the hose as she waited for the other cats to come in. It felt like hours before everyone was in. The moment the doors were shut, all the cats began complaining and stretching; all equally upset about being cooped up, and all about five pounds heavier than last week. Even little Badger put on some weight.
"Can I have everyone's attention?" Enobuthi mewed a bit to quietly. Nobody seemed to notice. She hissed then began again. "Everyone, listen up!" She surprised herself with the authority in her voice. The dozens on head swiveled to her, many curious but a few, like Baxter, very angry.
"I have some information on Baxter that I think everyone should hear." She started off. Step one was to make everyone dislike Baxter even more. "I'm sure you all met last week's new kittens, Bird and Badger." A few of the mother-cats nodded. "You all liked them, right? Even Bird?" More nods. "Well I have some bad news. Baxter killed Bird the day she arrived." There were gasps of shock from a few cats, though she noticed some of Baxter's gang looked guilty. There was a yowl as Baxter pushed his way through the cats.
"Lies! Liar! I have never harmed a kitten in my life!" He screeched, fur on end. He pushed Enobuthi off the hose and turned to the other cats. "And you guys! Why are you listening to her? She is one of the Shunned! Her fur glows for heaven's sake," there were nods from a few cats. A moment later, they began to turn away from them and start talking again. Baxter gave her a smirk and jumped down.
"Wait!" Someone called from over by the door. Badger she thought. "Enobuthi isn't lying! Baxter did kill my sister!" He didn't have to push his way through the cats like Baxter, they parted to let him through. He came and sat down at the hose's base, right next to Enobuthi's feet.
Baxter, who had begun to walk away, turned around. All the cats were looking at him. "Are you guys really going to believe a kit over me?" He hissed. Then something that shocked them all happened. Tick and Tock, Baxter's closest female-friends, tackled him and held him down.
"Let the kit," "say what he has to say." They spoke. Enobuthi dipped her head to them, eyes a bit wide. She looked down at Badger who nodded and looked at the other cats.
"Baxter came over to us and explained he was the leader here and if he upset him he would punish us. My sister, Bird, was def." Enobuthi's eyes widen even more. Hadn't the kit spoken to her? Hadn't she understood her name? Well, she could have read lips... "She lost her hearing when her head was hit on the side of a building a month ago." oh "She didn't hear Baxter's warning. She asked why he was so... Chubby. Then he hissed and clawed her throat open." Tears welled in his eyes, and he looked at his paws.
The cats began to yowl so loud that Baxter's hisses of outrage were lost. It was bad enough to kill a kit, but a def kit that didn't know any better? That just made it worse. Time for step two.
Enobuthi's plan was to make the cats dislike Baxter, then put James in charge instead. If everything worked out, then she would then be able to get James to talk the others into breaking out of the Lab. Though it was going to be hard- she didn't even know if he wanted to rule. I could always take over... She thought, then shook her head. No, she couldn't rule. Nobody would follow a 'Shunned like her'.
"I vote that Baxter is no longer the leader!" She called out to the cats. The cats, already in a frenzy, yowled agreement.
"But who will rule us?" Someone asked, and everyone quieted. Even Baxter stopped yowling, clearly sensing he was going to stay in charge.
"James!" She called.
James, who had been hiding at the back, came forward. She saw him clearly for the first time. He was tall, very tall, with yellow fur and brown spots like a cheetah. His ears were huge and his eyes bright orange. "As happy as I am to hear you all like me, I do not want to lead you. I only want to get out of here and find my mate before she has our kits." The cats turned back to her.
Badger looked up at Enobuthi. "Why don't you lead us?" There it was again, a cat who seemed to read her thoughts. She looked out at the cats, hope swelling in her.
Purdy stepped out of the group. "I have never agreed with what Baxter does," his gaze swiveled to the tom. "I've only acted loyal so that he wouldn't kill me like that poor kit." He faced the cats again. "I vote Enobuthi leads us."
"Enobuthi!" Tick and Tock both called. The other cats began to call out as well. Baxter squirmed out from under Tick and Tock and stalked to the darkest part of the room to mope.
"That settles it!" Purdy called. "Enobuthi will lead us!" He turned to her. "What do you want us to do?"
"Get ready," she mewed, heart swelling with happiness and hope. And courage, so much courage. "Because we are breaking out."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For the next two weeks, Enobuthi trained the cats for fighting. The weight they gained slowly fell off of them, being replaced by lean muscle. James volunteered to teach the kittens basic moves. Though she didn't like the idea of the kittens fighting, she agreed. They would have to protect themselves after all. On the last day of the second week, Enobuthi was sitting on the hose watching everyone.

We're ready she thought, paws prickling with excitement. She stood up and called to the other cats. "We are ready to break out!" She yowled. It was returned with yowls from the other cats, even Baxter. "Prepare to attack!"

She, James, Purdy, and a couple other cats had discussed their escape plan. When the Coats came in, the elderly cats would stand in front of the kittens at the back. The other cats would stand in a line at the front and attack their legs while the elderly and kittens got out. Once they were gone, they would run out after them. They would then try to get everyone left in the cages out, check the Testing Room for other cats, and get the heck out of there. It was a long shot, but it was the best plan they had.

Enobuthi took up her place at the front of the line, right ahead of the attack group. She was facing the door when she felt a tug at her side. She turned and saw Badger there. In the past two weeks, he had almost doubled in size. His head was at her shoulder, and his tail closer to her head.

"I wanna fight, too." He mewed.

"Badger, we've gone over this. You're only four months old, you have to stay with the kittens." She looked at the tom, her heart swelling. She thought of Badger as her kit, though she never told him that. Badger looked as if he were going to fight, she she leaned down. "You're one of the strongest young cats we have, Badger. If only the kittens and elderly get out, it will be your job keeping them safe. You can't do that if you're trapped here too." She lied. Purdy was going to lead the elderly and kittens, not Badger. But the thought made him perk up.

"Right! Good luck, Enobuthi!" He mewed, and pranced back to the other kittens.

She faced the door again. She was stiff from the excitement and fear that built up inside of her. The door opened and four Coats came inside, brandishing their poles-with-hoops. "Attack!" Enobuthi screeched.

The nimble front-line cats swarmed the Coats. They bit and claws at their exposed parts, ankles, legs, what ever they found. The Coats were driven to a corner and Purdy yowled, signalling for the elderly and kittens to get out. They swarmed out the door, and Enobuthi just glimpsed Badger at the rear, helping those who fell behind. She watched him for a second, then sprang into the fight.

One of the Coats started to hit the cats with the poles. The other two had fallen over, and the last one was sitting in the corner rocking back and forth. "Leave him, let's go!" She called. The cats raced out of the room and into the Lab.

James stopped at the door and looked back. "Let's see how you like being caged up!" He yowled at them as the Coats helped each other. He stood on his hind legs and pushed the door shut. It clicked as it locked.

Enobuthi signaled for half the cats to follow the elderly and kittens. A moment later, she was left with Baxter, James, Tick, Tock, and a couple other cats that were new there. She thought one of their names was Norman, but she wasn't sure.

"Tick, Tock, you two take James and check the Testing Room," she flicked her tail to the other door. It was slightly cracked, not quite shut. They could easily get in. "The rest of you, help me check the cages. We don't want to leave anyone here." They all nodded, even Baxter, and began to check the cages.

They checked each of them, but found no one. Tick, Tock, and James returned with a kitten with bright purple eyes that they found in the testing room. Enobuthi sends the two she-cats to the main group with the kitten.

"What about us?" Baxter demands. "Aren't we supposed to head back as well?"

"Have some patients, Bax." James laughs. Baxter only grumbles.

"I actually had an idea." She looked over at the door marked D. Baxter saw where she was looking and shook his head.

"Nuh-uh. Not doing that. Not getting near those dogs."

She looked back at Baxter. "Well, you and who ever else is to scared can go to the main group." She mews evenly. Nobody moves, and Baxter ends up staying. "James," Enobuthi turns to him. "You're tall, could you reach the emergency button?" The emergency button was a big red button between the C and D doors. If pressed, it opens up the cages and the rooms. She figured it was used during a fire.

"Ya, I can try," he said. "But why do we need to let the dogs out?"

"The dogs will scare the Coats more than we will. If they're smart enough to get what we're doing, our escape will be a ton easier. They can do the fighting, we can just follow them out."

"What if they decide cats make a good chew toy?"

"I think they'd prefer Coats over us. I mean, what have we done to them? If the Coats are as bad to them as they are to us, you can bet they'd attack them instead."

"You're crazy." Baxter said angrily as James walked over to the button.

"Ya, you're just realizing that?" She grins and James slams his paws down on the big, red button.

The doors fly open- including the C door. Uh-oh, she thinks. She didn't even think about how that door would open too. The dogs and Coats swarm out at the same time and stare at them. The dogs look from the cats to the Coats. Half of them, the puppies it seems, attack the Coats. The older dogs follow their lead and attack as well, only two of three heading to the hall.

Enobuthi and the others ran down the hall to catch up with the group. Every now and then there would be a Coat laying on the ground, though not often. She looked up and saw birds flying above their heads, and she heard a distant noise that sounded like a raccoon. "The button opened all the cages!" James exclaimed.

The dogs started to swarm after the cats, though for some reason they didn't attack. When they got near they just swerved around and kept running. Guess they're smarter than I thought Enobuthi thought herself, but then a dog stopped. It growled and attacked her, ripping her side. James and Baxter attacked it and drove it away. "You all right?" James asked, and she nodded. They continued to run as if nothing happened, though her side throbbed with pain.

They caught up to the group in a large room with halls leading away. On the left there were two huge doors, the dogs were swarming them. The way out!

"Where did all the other animals come from?" Purdy asked when they caught their breath. The birds were flapping above their heads, the dogs barking at the doors, and other things ran down the halls.

"Oh, you know. We let them all out." Baxter shrugged as if it were nothing.

"What do you mean we? You were scared out of your mind! I let them out." James said, humor in his eyes. Enobuthi hadn't spoken to him a lot, but he seemed nice. Always cracking jokes.

The cats stood in silence, watching the dogs at the door. "How do we get out?" Someone asked from behind. "Ya, what now?" Someone replied.

Enobuthi opened her mouth to reply when the doors opened. A human in a light brown suit was wheeling in a box. He stopped dead as he saw the cats, bird, dogs, and hybrids. All at once, the animals surged past him as he screamed. The dogs barked and ran out over the grass, rolling in mud and barking to one another. The cats frolicked, though didn't stick around. The Coats would be out any minute. Enobuthi led her group down the hill and along a street. Water roared in a ditch besides them. It had just rained.

They ran over a bridge and into a large park. Finally, they stopped.

"We're out! We're out!" Badger danced around as everyone caught their breath. The other cats began to yowl as well.

We're out... I'm finally out... Enobuthi thought, then joined the others in celebration. They were free.

Username: Hi there, the name's sushí! c:
Name: I will name this guy Rosey Rac. I'm not sure exactly why, but I think it's a pretty nice name and suits this girl.
Gender: Female
Species: North American Raccoon
Kennel Number: 30.
Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:
I love Rosey Rac so much because of her designs and she kind of resembles a raccoon, so being the raccoon lover I am, I will guarantee that I will love her to death. So I would take care of her... A lot like bringing her into collabs or roleplays and art.
Personality: Rosey is very independent. She learned how to do everything by herself. She loves to do different tricks to get her way around her home, which is a place in the forest. Rosey also loves to scavenge and savor everything. Whether it's food or objects left behind by humans, she saves them and keeps them safe, or she goes around and shares it with her friends. Because of this, she is very giving. She can give up almost anything if her friends envy it a lot.
History: {First Person} I sighed and knew it was time to scavenge... again. Although I said I loved it, really, not is not the time. My front right paw was injured from scavenging the day before. It got caught in the branches and you probably know what happened. I looked down at the jade necklace which I found when I was little and thought back to that time.

"Look look look!" I panted, trying to catch my breath. (Let's call her friend 'Friend') Friend looked at me and smiled. "What is it?" I showed her the necklace I found next to the river. "Isn't it gorgeous?" I put it over my neck, carefully. "Oh my it is! Rosey Rac, you've found your first necklace! It's so beautiful and shiny and..." Before she could finish, I ran off, looking for other things. Friend rolled her eyes. "Look at Rosey, she's growing up so fast... She's learning how to do many things all by herself... She's a miracle!"

Look at that, I was now scavenging. "Friend, can you slow down? My paw still aches from yesterday." Friend turned around and looked worried. "Are you sure you're okay to scavenge? I did tell you you didn't have to." "I guess I'm fine," I mumbled, moving towards a tree. "We have to take you back." Friend walked back home, and I knew I had no choice but to follow.

Friend led me to her house. As I entered, Friend gestured to her stool. "Sit, Rac. We've gotta patch up your foot some more..." I obeyed her as she walked out, getting some leaves. "Okay ready?" She came in with leaves, taking out the old ones that patched my scratch, then put the new ones on. "Get some rest. I'll go scavenge alone."

Username: Hello again! I am still sushí.
Name: Celeste
Gender: Male
Species: Starry Cat
Kennel Number: 107.
Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?: I would like Celeste because I am literally obsessed over space, and I think that Celeste is just perfect <3
Since Celeste cannot be my 'sona, he will be one of my main charries, and I will love him so much <3
Personality: Celeste is quiet and prefers to be alone. Practicing and perfecting is his absolute passion, and he cannot do without it. He has a big passion for drawing backgrounds of pictures. They're always space with tons of detailed planets and detailed stars. He is a perfectionist of many kinds and is, in fact, the best artist in my realm of characters.
History: {Told in first person} Dip. Paint. Dip. Paint. Refill. He didn't know what to do. He'd been painting the same spot for the past two hours. "Stars, moons, planets, galaxies... Why can't I think of anything?!" "Perhaps you need to go out and get some fresh air," Starr, my star pet (I hope I'm allowed to add a pet) declared. "I'm pretty tired of watching you paint that spot. It hasn't changed." I glanced over at Starr and smiled. "You're in luck." I opened the door and ran out. It was nighttime, the best time to gaze at the stars. "Maybe I need to draw outside. My passion lays here at night." "Exactly!" Starr floated around.

I had taken the habit of drawing at night outside. "I'm tired of this fresh air," Starr complained. I ignored him, focusing on my artwork. "Look, I'm almost done, and I need you to be quiet please." Starr grumbled, going inside. "I'm going in either way." He slammed the door behind him.

Username: cyril.
Name: I have decided to name this beauteous girl Sari, which means "My Princess" in Hebrew. At first, I had only chosen this name because of its simplicity and elegance, but when I looked up the meaning, I found that this was very fitting for the character I had in mind for her.
Gender: Obviously, Sari would be a female.
Species: North American Raccoon.
Kennel Number: This beauty resides in kennel thirty (30).
Why would you like this character?: Well, for starters, her design is very cute. I've been looking for a raccoon character for a while, now, and I think that Sari would be the perfect fit. Her accessories fit her so well, and the personality I have in mind for her is simply irresistible. She's adorable, and I'd really love to take her home with me.
What will you do for this character?: I'd start out by trying to perfect this form, and try to prove to you that I'll love her. Once that's finished, I'll make sure everything's nice and orderly for the code drop.
Use: A main character. She'll be drawn as often as I possibly can draw her, and she'll be written and role-played as. I just found out Windows Movie Maker works on my laptop, so I might use her in an animation test. Overall, she will be loved.
Personality: Sari is, in short, spoiled rotten. She thinks she's a princess, and has been treated as such her whole life. She's a brat; there's no way around it. But there's a reason Sari acts as she does, and that's because she's afraid of being ignored. She's afraid that, if she behaves normally, people will tend to ignore and forget about her. She's found that acting as if she's better than everyone else gets her attention. Despite it being negative, it's attention all the same to Sari, so she'll take what she can get. All she wants is to be noticed, and she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants.
History: Sari was the runt of the litter. She was always pushed around by her older brothers; they'd steal her food, bite her, scratch her - pretty much roughhouse her. Sari couldn't take it anymore, and one day, ran away. She kept running until she heard a high-pitched scream some ways behind her. Her eyes bulged and she turned around, darting right back towards her mother and siblings. But when she arrived, there lay a gruesome scene - her mother and her brothers lie, torn open and dead on the concrete. Sari panicked and ran out into the street in her frenzy, just as a car was headed her way. The lights blinded her and she clenched her eyes shut tight, waiting for the thud, waiting for it all to be over. But all she heard was a screech of the tires, and a little girl's voice. Sari opened her eyes and blinked, spotting a small child and her father looming over her. Sari flattened her ears back on her head as the man picked her up and carried her over to the car, where he put her in the backseat with his daughter and proceeded to drive off.
Sari was scared. What if this man was planning to kill her? She decided not to upset him, and allowed the little girl to play with her until they arrived at a large building. When they were there, the man came around the back again and lifted Sari into his arms, carrying her inside the building and clipping something around her neck. Sari looked down and pawed at it; it was pink, with a little golden thing around it that made a funny tinkling noise. She liked it.
Ever since then, Sari has been living with the little girl and her family. She doesn't know it, but ever since she was picked up off the street that day, she had become nothing more than a little girl's pet.

Name: Sekaii, the alternate spelling of a Japanese name meaning "the world".
Gender: Male, of course. There's no way I could see him as a female.
Species: Genetically-mutated canine, with scientifically-engineered parts.
Kennel Number: Kennel one hundred and five (105).
Why would you like this character?: When I first found Sekaii after he was first donated, I was head over heels in love with him. A creature like this is just gorgeous to me, especially appealing because of his simple design. The razors, armor, spikes, and sabre teeth just made me adore him even more. I've always had a "thing" for macabre characters, and with Sekaii, it's no different. He's a stunning character that I'd just love to have in my character family, not because of his design, but because of the ideas his design brings me.
What will you do for this character?: Try to perfect my form and show you that I'll care for him. I'm amazed he hasn't gotten any more forms; he's an absolute beaut! Nonetheless, I'll tidy up this form and hope that you pick me, haha!
Use: A main character. He'll definitely get loads of art, and I'll write stories about him, as well as role-play him. He might even get his own comic series, if I decide to get up off my lazy butt and start one.
Personality: Sekaii is a dangerous creature to be around, no doubt about it. He is a serial murderer, known only for being so remorseless as to kill literally anybody - be they fluffy kittens, the elderly, women, or even small children. He has no moral compass; all his regrets went down the drain one day, and nobody knows why. Sekaii only cares for two things; himself, and finding a dog with an army cap. Nobody knows who this dog is or why Sekaii is after him, but one thing's for certain - when Sekaii finds him, that dog will never breathe again...
History: Sekaii once was a normal canine - of what breed, nobody is sure. He had a caring mate and three pups, and lived peacefully in the land.
That all changed one day, when the dog in the army cap arrived.
Sekaii had found the runt running about the forest, seemingly in a panicked frenzy. Concerned about the mutt's well-being, Sekaii stepped out to ask what was wrong, when the dog lunged at him. They tumbled down the dirt path, a ball of teeth and claws. Sekaii, in a sudden burst of energy, threw the dog off and raced back to his family, tail tucked between his legs. He wanted to warn them, to help keep them safe...
When he got there, they were gone.
Sekaii looked feverishly for them, trying to find them and reassure them that everything was okay. But everything wasn't okay. They were gone, and they weren't going to come back.
Sekaii tossed back his head and howled in agony, the howl abruptly cut off by a tranquilizer dart piercing his side. He collapsed, but not before he saw his attackers: three humans and the dog in the army cap.
When Sekaii woke up the next morning, he was in a cage, along with many other animals. He saw the dog in the army cap trot by his cage, and growled menacingly, lunging for him angrily. He barked and snapped at the dog ferociously, but the cage held him back. The humans soon arrived and tranquilized him again - all the while, the dog in the army cap smirking.
Throughout the next several weeks, Sekaii was subjected to many tests and experiments, pushed to his limits until he no longer looked like a canine - instead, he looked like some sort of monster. His tail was replaced by a robotic razor blade; spikes were growing out of his back and legs; a helmet was cemented onto his head; artificial claws were placed over his paws; and his two top canine teeth had become giant sabres. Every day, he grew more and more miserable, was pushed further and further off the edge, until one day, he'd finally had enough.
When the scientists had come back to get him, he was prepared for them. He lashed out at them, attacking them and mutilating them beyond recognition. He then went for his true tormentor - the dog in the army cap. However, the dog was nowhere to be found, so Sekaii just settled for escaping.
But ever since the day he'd escaped, Sekaii has been searching for the dog in the army cap. He vowed revenge, and he will have it, one way or another, no matter how many lives he has to take.

    Username ;; Hello there! I'm Dovepawlover,
    though you can call me Dove,
    Dovie, DPL, really anything
    that suits you. c:

    Name ;; Her name is Stardust. She was
    named after the night she was born.

    Gender ;; It's pretty easy to tell she
    is a girl. Female.

    Species ;; Stardust is a member
    of the Night Wolf species.

    Kennel Number ;; Stardust is currently in
    kennel number eight (8).

A Little More ;;

    Why Would You Like This Character/What Will You Do For This Character? ;;
    As I said on Enobuthi's form, I just love the simple designs on some characters. I try to get a lot of them because nobody ever really wants a simple character. Everyone goes for the three-headed-dogs or ones with missing limbs. These guys are always the ones left to rot. It really upsets me when this happens- it's basically saying 'we don't like you as much as this one- bye'. I know, they're just pixels and I'm talking as if they're alive. But still. You get my point. I guess I want Stardust so that I can save her in some way. Like save her from rotting in a kennel until someone wants her, save her from being alone. I don't know how to explain this reason any more than that. I want her to save her and to give her a home.

    Also like from Enobuthi's form, I would make and buy art for her until I can't anymore. She may have a short story writen after her, depending on how much free time I have. She will also get her own post on my character thread. I will also most likely look for a roleplay to put her in, though that may take some time. Can't think of any that would accept a wolf like her at this moment.

    Species Info ;;
    Night Wolves are a rare breed of wolf that are only active at night. When born they do not have pelts that look like their parents' fur. All of the Night Wolves are born white, and their pelts change color within the next five hours. The pups' fur is determined by what time of day it is, and what it currently happening. It's it's dusk and there's clouds, you can expect the pups' fur to look like that. If noon and sunny, it will have a bright pelt that resembles the sky. No matter what weather or time of day, the Night Wolves' fur always looks like the sky. Nobody is sure why this is. It's one of the mysteries of life.

    Night Wolves are partly vegetarian. While they will eat plants and berries all summer, they are forced to eat meat as well in the winter when the plants die. Night Wolves are docile animals and are about three feet tall on all fours. While normal wolves live in packs, Night Wolves live on their own or with their mate and/or other family. Because they are not quick to fight with others, they have become endangered, possibly extinct. Hunters have killed them for their beautiful and unique pelts, other animals have killed them for dens or food. There are said to be extinct since 1969, but a few travelers say that there are still a good dozen alive. Endangered, extinct, protected, hidden, no one knows what to believe. Little else is known on these amazing canines, but with researched one day we might know more.
Big Finish ;;

    Personality ;;
    Calm.Smart.Graceful.

    Stardust is very, very calm. When faced with danger or a hard choice, she keeps a cool and level head. You could count the amount of times she has panicked on one hand alone. It's very hard to make her hyper or scared of something, which is strange, given the life she has led so far. Because of being so calm, she doesn't fight or argue much. As well as being calm, Stardust is also insanely smart. She loves learning new things, figuring out how things work, and testing ideas. Most people call this 'being a nerd', but she isn't ashamed. She would rather go through life being smart and called a nerd, than being stupid and simi-fitting in. Being graceful is important to Stardust. To her, it's plain rude to hunt without being graceful. When you catch prey by being sloppy, the prey is almost trash. But by being graceful it is almost always perfect, and it's a way to respect the life you took so that you could eat. To her, being graceful is practically a way of life, so to speak.

    History ;;
    Stars rained across the dark night sky. They vanished over the horizon only to be replaced by others. Hours passed and they still rained down in the beautiful shower of shooting stars. Dawn broke, and it was then when Stardust was born. Her fur was snow-white for the first hour. Then it took on the colors of the sky.
