I adore all three, actually, but the blue...just clicked. Blue + wings + tiger stripes = Tiki is in love.

Creature wanted: Male, Mountain Parduseros-Green gray

Link to character thread (Required):

Background:

Personality:

Magici is proud, and eager to fight with other males for the right to mate. He is strong willed

I smacked my horns into the side of my cave, making sure to catch all the crystal fragments, It jarred my old injury from last mating season bringing back the memories. I had chipped one of my horns in that fight and I was hoping it wouldn't effect my performance this season but it seemed it might. I caught all the crystals I could in my fur then trotted out of my cave.

The suns heat warmed my fur as I stare up at it feeling the power in my muscles. This season I knew would be a good one because I was feeling particularly powerful. I scented the air, I could smell a female nearby, and a male. Maybe this year I would finally get the chance to mate. I went looking at a pace that was fast yet wasn't a run, and finnally found the male and female in a oasis; the male was clearly trying to impress her but not doing a good job of it from her reaction.

When I got closer I could see it was my brother, now believe me I love my brother but we were not always on the best of terms and I really wanted this female myself. I gave him a challenging roar which to him must have been a surprise but then he returned it full force. We studied each other for only a moment because we already knew the others strengths and weaknesses by heart.

Then we charged, I moved to prevent a full on charge because of my still weakened horn and caught his horns with my unweakened one which caused me to fall back quite a bit. It also cause his attention to take notice of the weakness and I knew he would use it to his advantage. He pushed against my horns in a way that made me have to use both or be pushed down. When he did that I used both jolting my weakened horn with pain; I staggered back away from him shaking my head in pain.

He took his chance and ramed me, sending me staggering again. I bit into his nose this time and let go almost immediatlly. He roared in pain shaking his head repediatlly. He backed away seeming disoriented from my bite then looked at me like he didn't know if he should continue fighting or not. He looked at the female then seem to decide to continue fighting was worth it.

He charged head on and I had three options to make: to dodge, jump over him or meet him in charge and try to toss him on his side when we locked horns. I decided the last would be the best option and I turn to meet his charge locking horns with him. I twisted my head and sent him toppling over with the force of the twist. Then I went for his neck being sure to keep my stomach away from. At this angle I could break his neck or crush his air pipe if I wanted to. He continued to struggle for a few moment the went limp in defeat.

Once he did I let him up and we bowed to each other for a good fight and he left off to try to win another female. I had won mine this day but had it not been my brother I don't know if I would have.

Creature Wanted
Blue-Grey Mountain Male

Name
Rilutore
(Ree-loo-tore-ay)
(Combination of the French words for "reluctant" and "protector")

Character Site
Vox Tigrem
Though Aani Tiikeri will be up soon.

Personality
I am not much of a caregiver. I never have had the chance. I have been alone for most of my life, the snows and wind my only company in my mountain home. However, if fate demands it, I will do what it asks of me. I do not believe in testing fate, as there's no hope of beating it. I am thoughtful, intelligent. Something I hope to one day pass down to a cub of my own. One day, I will have a family. One day.

Background
Fate is a very strange thing. One moment I have no one but the howling wind to accompany me, the next I'm raising a cub that isn't even mine. Tiresia must have a sense of humor, really.

But, to understand how I came to be a parent, you must go back to a year ago, in the middle of a bitter winter. Snow whipped through the howling air, making even the hardiest of beasts look for cover. I was one of them. That was, until a yowling cry echoed though the night. I couldn't help but venture out, the feathers on my wings fluttering violently in the gusting wind and snow mixture. The cry continued, though sounding weaker with each sound; I hurried as fast as I could though the blizzard. Whatever was making that noise was in serious trouble, and, despite my better judgement, I was going after it.

It wasn't until I nearly tripped on it, that I realized I had found the source of the yowling: a small, barely weaned leopard cub, half buried in the freezing snow. I looked around in vain, wondering where the cub's mother was, but I saw nothing. Silently, I looked down at the cub, considering...

I picked it up, carrying it back to the safety of my den, where I would wait for morning. It's mother had to be around.

I was wrong.

Morning came, and I went searching, but there was no sign of the cub's mother, or any beast for that matter. The blizzard had effectively stopped all life, but what would you expect this high up in the mountains? So, I went back to my den, the cub now awake and watching me, his eyes sad. I looked at him awkwardly, not accustomed to cubs of any sort.

"Hello, there..." I said gently, laying beside him, startled when he cuddled against me. It was then I realized he was too young to be truly aware. He probably didn't even know his name. I had no choice. I couldn't let the cub die out there. He was to stay with me, until he was old enough to take care of himself. That shouldn't be too hard, right?

8 months later

"Rilutore! Come on!" I sighed, following the hyperactive teen, though the shallow snow. I had decided to name the boy Castitan, "pure son", as the small cub had been wearing a pendant, one that I vaguely remembered belonged to a Lord. I figured he had been a weakling son, abandoned as he wasn't good enough to be an heir. I had never shared this with the growing child, nor would I ever. He did not need to know, until he was much older, and I was about to go to my death.

Apparently, Fate didn't like that plan, either.

I watched the cub leap over a steep snowbank, yowling in happiness; happiness that was cut short.

A roar. A squeal. Castitan.

With a furious roar, I lept over the bank, knocking the leopard male away from the teen, taking a protective stance over the boy, my eyes furious, teeth bared, a growl deep in my throat. The male backed off, but not by far. He seemed to not know which of us to pay attention to: the cowering cub, or me in my fury.

"Tsamitan," he whispered, deciding on the boy. I growled louder; Castitan whimpered behind me.

"Who are you? How do you know the boy?" I snarled, taking a step forward, my wings flaring in my anger. He took a step back and regarded me with cold, calculating, aristocratic eyes.

"He is the son of Lord Eyktan. There is no mistaking the boy. Plus...the crest around his neck. The crest of the Lord of Leopards. Eyktan believes his son to be dead, beast. How is he living?" he snarled, daring me, testing me. My snarl deepened as Castitan peeked from behind me, his eyes confused. He had always believed himself to be my son...to find the truth in this way.

"Your Lord abandoned him in these mountains. I found the boy buried in the snow, alone. You have no business with him, now. Leave my lands, before I make you," my voice deepened, conveying the threat of death if he did not leave my charge be. He looked at the cowering boy, no emotions in his eyes.

"Your father started a war in your name. Remember that, boy. Innocents died for you."

"LEAVE!" I roared lunging at him, my paw slamming into his face, claws digging into his soft flesh. With a roar of pain he retreated, knowing he couldn't win in a fight with me; I had the upper paw, of both strength and knowledge of the landscape. I watched him run, not ready to face the boy behind me. I knew the questions he would ask would hurt him; I couldn't do that.

"Rilutore...is...is he right? Am I...not your son? Is that why...I'm not like you?" his voice was so broken, and my heart broke with it. I turned to regard him, my eyes sad. I approached him, scooping him into my paws, holding him, my wings shielding him as he clung to me.

"It is true, Castitan...but no matter what, you are my son. Blood or not, you are my son. Never forget that."

1 year and 4 months

I watched him as he regarded the world below. He had been watching them for ages; it had only been now that I knew. He wanted to go down there; find out if the leopard had been right. Had a war been started in his name? Even I didn't know.

"Rilutore...I have to go down there. I have to know."

"I know, my son. And I respect that," I said softly, stepping up beside him. He had grown into a strong, intelligent leopard. It was time for him to go. There was nothing I could do to keep him there. I had fulfilled my duty as his father, and the promise I had made to myself all those suns ago, the night I had found him. He looked at me, a soft smile upon his face; I smiled back, knowing, one day, I would meet him again, whether in this world or the next.

"Thank you...father. May the gods protect you."

"And you, Castitan, son of the snow, and you..." I watched him go, my head held high.

Fate is a very strange thing. One moment I'm raising a cub that isn't even mine, the next I have no one but the howling wind to accompany me.

And I wouldn't change it for the world.

Eyktan
-Lord of the Leopards, Castitan's father
Castitan
-Cub Rilutore finds, Eyktan's son, originally named Tsamitan ("War Son")

Originally, he was going to be more reluctant to be a caregiver to Castitan, but he decided to go against that idea once I started writing. He took over on his own; this is the story he wanted to tell to everyone.

Creature wanted:

What will you name it?:
Jakuta
[African God of Thunder]

Link to character thread (Required):
[X]

500-1500 word story (Any writing, descriptions, likes and dislikes go here.):

Likes:
Thunderstorms. Jakuta has a close affinity with the weather, and, even as a cub, would sit at the edge of a cliff and watch the ground below be struck by lightning. This fascination, combined with his untamable and loud personality, has led to his name- that of a Thunder God.
The air. A creature with wings, it is said, cannot be grounded before too long. The sky is a drug to him; flight takes away his worries and fears, leaving them on the ground to wait until he lands.
Emeralds. When he can find them, he loves trying to get the green stone embedded into his horns. They please his eyes, mating season or not, and he’d love to have them year-round.
Echoes. He thinks that echoes are another, non-Pardusero, animal, trying to mimic every sound that it hears. He loves trying to confuse it, roaring out and making multiple loud sounds from different areas.

Dislikes:
Droughts. Dry seasons frustrate Jakuta. Though he could easily fly north, into the colder region of the mountain range, he’s happy where he is. He also believes that a much larger Pardusero has claimed the best area in the colder region, and does not want to risk losing his home.
Snow. Too much snow at once- or an avalanche- makes Jakuta a very unhappy cat. He can’t hunt in pure white conditions; his body sticks out too much, even in the dead of night. If the animal he’s stalking hears a misstep, he is out of a meal unless he can find another prey item. If nothing else, he reluctantly takes to the foot of the mountain range and takes a meal from there.
Other carnivores. The dragons, Ajiros, nearby Smili village, and vagrant wolves that wander the North make him nervous and ignite his territorial mindset. He’s determined to keep them away from his area.
The Goddess. Jakuta and B’Arivoi, the Goddess of Life, have a love/hate relationship. On one hand, Jakuta knows he wouldn’t be alive if she had not allowed him to exist. On the other, he wishes to challenge her and defy the rules she has set for his existence.

Personality:
Unpredictable. Jakuta is as wild as the storms he loves to see. Not even B’Arivoi can control him.
Unlucky. Luck is rarely on Jakuta’s side, and does he know it. He often loses battles over both land and females, because his wings get in the way, and because he is physically smaller than the others- his muscles are more in his shoulders than his legs, because he flies wherever he wants to go, rather than jump and clamber all over the rocks below.
Stubborn. Jakuta has a head harder than his horns. He refuses to bend to another’s will, even if it has the possibility of making his life easier.
Loud. Jakuta has a tendency to be extremely loud and obnoxious. He screams and roars without reason, all the while flaring his wings and beating the air as hard as he can. Then, with no warning, he will be perfectly calm and collected.
Jealous. Jakuta will take and hold onto a grudge until Judgement Day. He is green with envy most of the time, watching the males of the ground species- most stronger than him- duke it out for the pettiest of things.

Story
A legend.
A legend among the herbivores and small carnivores, Jakuta has made a reputation for himself as a nightmare that swoops out of nowhere to take his prey. They say he was born of hate and primal hunger, hell-bent on destroying their races and homes while gorging himself on their carcasses.

A scapegoat.
Among larger carnivores and Parduseros, Jakuta is a laughingstock. He is known as the "screwup" of the High North Range, and the owners of the territories around him have bitten away at his home until he has been left with a single death-trap of a mountain. He is terrible at fighting and they know it; his muscles aren't built up in the right places for claw-to-claw combat, and he loses spectacularly every single time.

A failure.
Jakuta was born extremely curious. After his [flightless] mother died trying to protect him from being killed during one such excursion, he turned into himself, taking his anger out on the herds and groups of prey items that lived in his mother's- at that point, his- territory. He solved his problems through flight, developing his shoulder and back muscles into solid strength, but, at the same time, neglecting his leg muscles. Other males noticed this and took it to their advantage, attacking him whenever they could. He feels that he has failed his mother- his blood- through his negligence and failure to protect his land.

Anything else?(Things like drawings, little notes, etc go here):
[Short due to emergency. Will complete next week if it's not judged.]
[This form may be edited; However, it is complete enough to be judged at any point in time]

Am I allowed to go out for him, because I'm trying out for Murmure too? Your rules on how many you can try out for kind of confused me, sorry. 3x
Also, would he ever come across Cial, perhaps? His coloration reminds of a mountain setting that would be close to the tundra scenary; is that possible?

Yes, you can go out for one from each color coded group. C: Sorry the rule is confusing, I'll poke at it to try to make more sense out of it. XD The mountain parduseros can come across almost any other one, since mountains are pretty much anywhere. Their main story should be set mostly in the mountains though. ^^

I'm so glad you guys like these! |D Thank you all for your comments. <3

A reminder to everyone, when writing your story please remember to read all the information on the front page about the species, as some of it is very important and not abiding by it can seriously hurt your chances of winning.
