Have you read the front page?: yes I have
Will you pick up this mustang on the 22nd of June?: I will because my school gets out the second or third week in June so I know I will be at home.
Will you train this mustang?: I will, I have always loved mustangs so I will try my hardest to do so.
What are some of your training plans?:
For the first couple of days I plan to let it get used to me and the environment. I would try to keep it in a large area so that it does not feel trapped, I would try to make it feel that It is in a natural area and it does not have to be afraid. After It gets used to its surroundings I would try to walk p to it and try to pet it and calm it down showing that I am not a threat. I would show it that I am its friend by personally bringing food, water, and fresh apples. Then if not afraid or not willing I will try to introduce it to my other horse
Spirit. Hopefully they will be friends and won't fight or hurt each other.
If it warms up to me I would spend a few weeks trying to get it used to a blanket on its back and possibly a saddle. If not then I would keep trying to show I am friendly and kind until it shows it will trust me. Once it is used to a blanket, I would introduce a saddle but not put it on it but merely Leave it under a tree so it can sniff it out and get comfortable. Once it shows interest in it I will lay it on its back and buckle it. I would let it get used to the feel of it. I would do this for a few days or until they seem okay with it. After that I would try to get on the horse. If it accepts me I would do that for a few weeks and then start training it commands. I would start with basic riding commands, such as "walk" , "trot", "canter", and "gallop".
From there I would develop an even stronger bond and start taking it out on rides. I would start off with 5-10 minutes and progress to half hour and hour rides. Then I can love the horse for the rest of its life. I would take care of it and give it the best life I could offer. (I plan to introduce the horse to racing before the end of this.)
