How many days a week are you on CS?: x of 7 : every day (though may be a bit less come my wedding)
How many adoptables are you an artist for?: I lost count....that reminds me that I need to get the pygmys back up and running...
How much time can you put into these FAEs?: as much as my life allows. I'll definitely be able to to the required amount and I take pride in my work.
Can you do highlights and use the coat calculator posted on the FAE Main Thread? : I can definitely do highlights. I will possibly need help with genetics and the color calculator, but I'm willing to learn if taught.
Will you help keep the topic bumped and promote it?: yes
Anything you want to say about yourself?: I'm always willing to learn and always interested in art. I'll try my best and please check out my DA gallery to see my commissions and artwork.

I'll try it out (: But I'm not overly sure about the genetic coding, what is that exactly? And do we have to add highlights? I'm not very good at that.

Hey!
We use this website for genetic coding. It's pretty straightforward and simple. You just have to know coloration and patternings!

I am asking that highlighting is used. To make highlights just use white (or a lighter of the color you chose) in the air brush. And then the same with some smudging on the mane and tail. ;)
Thank you!

Genetic Coding Tutorial

So I've heard people have been having problems with the genetic coding and that's what is holding a lot of people back from trying out. But fear no longer & I hope this helps!

Genetic Coding Helper

So first things, first... You must decide what coat color your equine has. If you don't know, I would suggest looking on google for a "horse coat color map" so you can begin to learn the general colors, which will help a lot in the long run. This is a pretty accurate color chart if you need one! Also included here are some markings. The coat color generater will NOT ask for specific markings. It is very vague, which is extremely easy and helpful.

Secondly... You see the link above that says "Genetic Coding Help"? Yes? Now you finally get to click on it! Go for it! Pull it up in another window or tab so you can keep checking back here for help.

So, since you aren't doing a breeding, you are simply trying to find a genetic code. Both "sire" and "dam" boxes will be the same. To make things easy... Let's say you created a brown horse with a black mane and tail, it has no other significant markings. (Insignificant markings include blazes, socks, cornets, or any other facial or leg marking.) This is a bay. So from the drop down box you would select "bay" and "solid." Then, go to the next boxes and do the same, since, once again, you are not breeding only finding a genetic code. Then click "Continue."

After clicking continue, you will be taken to another page that looks complicated, only it isn't. :) On this page you can select dominate and recessive genes. Though genes are very important, you can choose whichever genes you like with this task. (In breeding you will have to use the correct genes of both parents. Meaning you will simply have to select the ones specified on both parents pages.) But for now, click the ones you want. You created a bay so you could pick... That's right... Any of them! Just please don't leave any factors unknown. Then click "Calaculate."

Clicking this will take you to the final page! You will see both "parents" genes at the top and color possibilities at the bottom with a few seemingly random letters beside them. Click on your coat color in this case "bay", and it will give you genetic options that will look like this....
Ee/Aa = 25.0000%
Ee/AA = 25.0000%
EE/Aa = 25.0000%
EE/AA = 25.0000%
Pick any one of them and this will be your horses genetic code!

My bay will have a genetic code of EE/AA.

I really hope I helped and please feel free to pm me if I only confused you more!
