Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

Have you read the front page?:Yes, and am constantly rereading it to make sure i haven't missed anything.
Will you pick up this mustang on the 22nd of June?: Absolutely.
Will you train this mustang?:To the best of my ability.
What are some of your training plans?:
First thing first is establishing trust. Trust, and dominance, of course, in humane ways. Second is desensitizing and getting the horse familiar with some ground work-simple commands -walk, stop, etc.
Next is to work on more complicated commands, leading, and getting familiar with tack.
The last , end result, is to have the horse sound and safe, ready to be ridden. but, all in good time.

(WIP, Please keep in mind folks I have recently taken on a very good, but very demanding job, and my internet time has been severely cut. )

Hey, sorry if this is spam but I can't pm or post on the discussion forum (I'm coppa) but I have a question...

I'm a little confused on how this all works, do we just fill out a sign up sheet when they are released and we get a horse? And how do we "train" our horse, just make artwork, stories, extras, add tacks to our horse ect? I'm sorry if I sound dumb, I was just a little confused since I have never done this before. :)

Have you read the front page?: Indeed I have, but I'm probably going to refer to it multiple times for double-checks on information.
Will you pick up this mustang on the 22nd of June?: I will try to, but I hope it's alright if I am late a day. What I'm doing that day is currently up in the air, so I am unsure of my schedule. But I'm going to try to, definitely!
Will you train this mustang?: Well, duh! He/she will be one of my higher priorities Chicken Smoothie/Cottonwood wise.
What are some of your training plans?: I have not a completely detailed aspect of plans, as it will go partially with my mustang's attitude. So, I have created a rough outline, and I hope to get to each points and farther on along as well. I will place these in bullets and then try to briefly expand.

  • Haltering - for a bit, I'm hoping just a few days, the mustang will go halterless, bridleless, free. I will give him/her time to adjust, simply letting him run out in pastures and arenas. I will let him get any possible high-strung energy out. I also plan to bring two of my horses, Guitar and Aero, to help out. These are two of my better trained horses, and this could help the stallion or mare calm down and feel comfort in a herd-like enviroment.
  • Trust - trust is extremely valuable to me. As soon as I can gain the mustang's trust and I feel comfortable enough to trust him/her, a connection begins to form. Little by little, I will try my shot to gain more and more trust.
  • Respect - respect is also valuable. The mustang needs the respect me, but I also must respect it. However, my respect for the stallion will have to be earned. Just how I will have to jump through hoops to get him/her to respect me. This will be done through multiple stages of groundwork, as it has been a valuable technique for me before.
  • Tacking - the jump between respect and tacking might be too wide of a space between the two, but I will fill in what training will be needed when it comes to that. When the stallion or mare finds his calmness and patience, I will work little by little to bridle, saddle, etc. him. I hope to be able to tack him up in a decent amount of time in one to two weeks.
  • Riding - again, a big jump. I want to ride this mustang. I shall be choosing a discipline for him/her based on personality and physique. We will start riding - walk first, work up to trot, "lope" or gallop finally. Then patterns and work in the chosen discipline. It may be long, but we will work relentlessly.
  • Events & Tricks - now I plan to try to be able to do tricks with the mustang and run him/her like you might in an event. I hope to do at least these and possibly more by the end of the training period.

I plan to get it to trust humans and be diverse in all riding styles, be it western, English or a cross between the two. I plan to train it in trick riding and as a trustable companion from young kids to older people. I would also love to train it in liberty and natural horsemanship.

Have you read the front page?: Eeyup. I've sieved right through this, so I have a good idea on what's going on. c:

What are some of your training plans?: To start with, I'd simply get used to my horse. I think that's the best way to begin training. I would show him/her the correct amount of love and affection, but tell it right from wrong, to make sure it knows that it should follow me as a leader.
I would then train and break him/her in, so they are safe and sure-footed when it comes to working with people and tack. Moving up a level I would train them with pole-work and move up to jumps and other high-level work.
Depending on the progress this horse is making, I may just lleave it off their, but if the horse is working at a high-standard, then I may just begin work at competition level, making the sure I can get the best out of a horse I can.

Lots and lots of things :) I first want to observe and let him/her calm down a bit and get used to me being around them. The I want to work on getting their trust and being able to groom them successfully. When I get past that area and have their trust, I will start with the lead line etc. and move up from that spot.

Will you pick up this mustang on the 22nd of June?: well of coarse! thats why I am signing up!
Will you train this mustang?: Yep, I have a few ideas already! :)
What are some of your training plans?: observe the horse and let it get used to me slightly. I will get the horse to join up, no matter how long it takes. I will start lunging and walking with them on lead rope half an hour to an hour a day, and afterwards reading a book outloud to them in stall/pen. I have many more ideas, but I have to go right now, I will carry on later.

Have you read the front page?: Of course, I did help look over it! ;3
Will you pick up this mustang on the 22nd of June?: I will be refreshing all of the 22nd! <3
Will you train this mustang?: Gentle and train it, yes. I fully intend to do awesome on this.
What are some of your training plans?: I am going to start slow with building trust and a bond between us, of mutual respect and understanding, then slowly move into basic desensitization and halter leading.
After the first, slow and steady portion, things will speed up a bit in the actual gentling process, depending on how well my horse acclimates to being under saddle. I would love to start teaching cues bareback, then move up into saddle work. I am really hoping to work my mustang in endurance and liberty, which are two of my preferred disciplines.
If I have the time and feel that things are going well, then we will move into western pleasure and trail work. I may start under English, but that will not be until after the Makeover is technically over most likely. I am so excited for this. <3

*NOTE TO ALL ENTRIES* If you guys want someone to proofread or give feedback on your written entries, send me a PM! I am an English-Writing Major (along with my German major) and I like to work with other people's writing because it helps my own! <3 Also, if people want to do interaction pieces with my mustang later into the summer, I would love to have him/her spend some time with others, once they're semi-trained of course. XD

Have you read the front page?: Yep! At least three times! :)
Will you pick up this mustang on the 22nd of June?: Yes ma'm, I am very excited! :D
Will you train this mustang?: Is the sky blue? Is the ocean unpredictable? Am I a horselover? ( The answer to all of those is yes.)
What are some of your training plans?: (Minimum Answer Length: Three Sentences ; Maximum Answer Length: Three Paragraphs) I plan on getting to bond and gain my horse's trust, since you cannot ride a horse that doesn't trust you. Then I plan on doing simple saddle breaking and making sure my mustang is used to a saddle. Then the hard part begins, I am going to do groundwork and eventually teach my mustang to be skilled at barrel racing, and maybe even jumping depending on what style I do.
