Gweneth: The Ultimate Canine of Candid Luck

Postby sheepuns » Sun May 18, 2014 10:52 am

Casino by Ittam
Roulette, Poker, Dice
Money happens to entice
Cash in, cash out
Others starting to freak out
Luck, Fortune, Chance
Others beginning to dance
One is luckier then the rest
Time to put her luck to the test
Wheel, ball, spin
It looks like her luck will win

Username:
Hello! I am Ittam! It means "to drink" in Hungarian.
Kennel Number: Just like how Gweneth views herself in life, she is rightfully #1.
Use: What I will plan to use Gweneth for is mostly for roleplaying, but she'll get a couple pieces of art (at least nine more), a webpage, a Charahub page,a story and be one of my main characters. Though at this point I currently have around 39 characters, she will happily be loved and be well taken care of.
With roleplaying, I hope it will be easier to have a wolf with more natural occurring markings. Sure, she's green, but she looks natural and it might motivate me to use her on CS. I could probably give her a set of "realistic, coyote like traits" so she'd fit in more, but just when I look at her I feel the need to see how she would react with out people.
My plan for her is to have her own story or two featuring her compulsive gambling skills and her luck. The stories will probably be uploaded on CS and will have art to go with them. The first story that will go with her is going to be a picture-song-prose combo, which means every chapter will have a piece of art and a song to go with it. So far the idea will be she goes on cross country trips to different kinds of casinos. Each chapter will take place at a different casino, and I might take the consideration of adding other people's characters into this story to fill in spaces of other gamblers, competition and possible shady business workers. Her life goal is to best "the luckiest koi-yote" around. As a coyote, they mostly depend on their luck to hunt and to trick other animals. She wants to be the best of the best, and she won't stop until she gets there. She will face many opponents, and she will lose some battles. I want her to start off as a sorta shallow character so as the story continues she continues to grow until she figures out her personal flaws. I also would have her gather a group of people who care about her to show her luck isn't the most important thing there is: love is.
All in all, she will have a lot of use to me, and will be used a lot as well. There will soon be a Summer CS event, and I will use that opportunity to get her more art. She will be used and loved for a while, because I rarely sell my characters. She will certainly have a permanent home, or my username's not Ittam.

- About the character -
Name: Gweneth

Name Meaning:
The name is a "Variant spelling of Welsh Gwyneth, meaning "luck, happiness" according to 20000-NAMES.COM. To be honest, it was rather hard choosing the name. I was torn between Gweneth, Felicity and Tomiko. I decided Felicity was too girly for her and Tomiko was too cute. Besides, now she can have the nickname Gwen, which I really like. I found the name fitting because she is green in color and I thought it fit her rather nicely.

Gender:
As much as I wanted her to be a guy at first, I felt that I had too many guy characters. Also, having a female gambler is also a bit more original. Besides, those green eyes? How could she not be a girl?

Species and/or specific breed:
I decided to keep the original owners idea and keep them as a coyote. They'll not only be my first coyote character, but it sorta fits her character as a trickster. The specific type of coyote she will be is a Western Coyote.

Highlights of Her Personality:
|||Tenacious|||Lucky|||Vicious|||Troublesome|||Tactless|||Leader|||
|||Scheming|||Loquacious|||Fiery|||Dedicated|||Dynamic|||Protective|||

Image

Personality:
Gweneth is all about being lucky; it's her obsession. She believes luck is the answer to life and everything else in life. Gwen has dedicated her life to luck, and cannot see herself living without it. We can consider her lucky because she actually is herself. However, this just adds to her tenaciousness; for she is always risking her life to prove her luck to everyone and herself, even when it's not needed. Whoever needs justification of luck just needs to gamble with her! Her energy can sometimes get ahead of herself, and might seem full of too much energy.
Her firm grip on her so called "reality" is what keeps her winning and able to move forward from tragic losses. If she does have too many losses, she can become tactless and vicious. Gwen in nature is very aggressive and boyish as well. When it comes to others she does not think of them, unless they too value luck, and can seem to be disrespectful towards anyone else. Her insensitivity makes her good at gambling because she won't fall for anyone's poker face or feel threatened by the bouncers. Her viciousness eventually gets her kicked out of casinos, but she's usually able to buy her way back into them. She doesn't get irritated easily, but when she does it's a full on tiger rage. She'll savagely attack any dealer or player without a thread of remorse. Her callous nature comes from her being a coyote, with surviving in the desert and what not. Since all these traits combine are repellent, it's not much to see her as troublesome. She loves causing trouble and chaos, simply because it amuses her and she wants to see how much she can get away with. This includes her being a bit stubborn, but that's just a show. She's actually rather flexible and okay with a lot of things, but this is simply because she does not care. To her, causing trouble is just being lucky. For example, if you're winning a lot of poker games, many will find you annoying and troublesome, hence why she is okay with it.

Family:
Father- "Orion", Supposedly Dead
A strange blue color of a wolf. He has markings similar to Gweneth and green eyes. He's actually Chronos, a time traveling Dhole who didn't mean for her to be born. He took Antifreeze on a time traveling trip, when they came across a Gene Fusion Vortex, also known as a GFV, which sucked up both Chronos and Antifreeze, causing chromosomes from both parents to combine into a living being. He is a Con Man (or shall I say Wolf) who is actually very lucky himself. He uses his luck to save others however. He also frequently gamblings, but not when his associate Antifreeze is around. She might arrest him.

Mother- Antifreeze, Alive
A yellow Swift Fox who is interested in serial killers and mass murders. She also is a detective who occasionally ask Chronos if they could go back in time to investigate a murder or two. As fast as she is, Chronos and her could not excape the GFV, and Gweneth was born. However, both Anti and Chronos did not notice her, so Gwen had to use her own luck to live. Antireeze, living in the present but being an associate with Chronos, has her own assembled team in the future to track down time traveling criminals, excluding Chronos. Her team believes Gweneth is cheating the system and they spend most of their time trying to see how she does it.

Faux Father- Mr. Tyrant, Alive
A yellow and tan Crab Fox with a sleazy black handle bar mustache. Even if his name implies something, he is a very kind man. He bought Gweneth in an auction and raised her as his own. He frequently asks her for money when he is oodles and oodles in debt. He and his adopted daughter have an eye to eye relationship. He also commonly gives her pointers on how to get better at gambling.

Faux Mother- Kaylee Tyrant, Alive
A rather dark, rich hue of green wolf with pearls strung around her like ornaments on a Christmas Tree. Even if he name sounds like "kill the tyrant" she is quite kind most of the time. She is constantly smoking and gambling her life way. She uses the money she gets to look younger then she actually is. Mr. Tyrant is twice as young as she is, but bring it up will bring out her inner tyrant. She is quite commanding, but not to an annoying degree. She and Gweneth are on good terms, and they frequently play poker together.

History
Gweneth was born into being due to Annabelle "Antifreeze" Freise and Chronos "Orion" going through a Gene Fusion Vortex ( GFV ) when they were trying to solve the murder of the "Lucky Lyncher". The "Lucky Lyncher", who had recently been able to convince a crowd, was trying to find and destroy a senator named Uni Luke Key. However, when Chronos was trying to transport to the event that happened seven months ago, he was careless with his time-traveling abilities. He is suppose to have passengers stand besides him, but because of his cocky ways (and trying to flirt with Ms. Freise) they both ended up falling into a GFV. He still was able to get both of them out of there, but he was well aware that something of the side effects that come with going through a GFV.

What a Gene Fusion Vortex does is combine the genes of two different entities and combine them. You can do this with a fish and a chicken to either make Tuna Fish (because they are the chickens of the sea) or a fish with wings. There are two different types of GFVs: Equivocal and Equivalent.
Equivocal, which means open to interpretation, means the vortex can take any traits and give them in any order. This is normally how birth goes. There might be more traits from the fish then the chicken, or vice versa. It just might be a cowardly fish or a chicken that likes water. It's impossible to know what traits will go to the offspring. This vortex will have a grey blue coloring and moves in a clockwise direction.
Equivalent, which means equals, means the vortex will split the traits and genes of the subjects and put them equally into a being. So, that would mean it would be a flying fish. It would be able to cluck and breathe underwater and lay eggs that have a white shell with another slimy egg underneath it. This vortex is harder to find and are a grey green color and they move in a counter clockwise direction.

Chronos forget which color was which, and just assumed that it was an Equivocated Vortex. That way, the child couldn't be traced back to them and he had no reason to care for the child. He didn't tell Antifreeze and then went on their way to try and solve their mystery. However, the real mystery was just starting.

Childhood
Gweneth was extremely lucky when she was a child, probably for that reason is why luck is so important to her. When she was born her eyes were open and she could hear, but she couldn't walk and was blind. Her legs were too weak and the nerves that connect the eyes to the brain were disconnected. She was blind, mute, lame, and without any parents. However, this is where her luck came in. Since Chronos is from the distant future, and (according to Chronos's point of view) Antifreeze is from the distant past, life took a gamble on where to bring the newborn pup, and it chose the future. Gweneth was brought to the streets of Calladandin. This city is famous for gambling and all the like. A street vendor saw her and thought her to be a quick money making scheme. He went in the casino and auctioned her off to the highest bidder. She was then bought by an incredibly rich gambling family called the Tyrants. Despite their name, they were quite kind to Gwen. However, they were terrible parents and instead of taking her to school, they taught her to gamble at an early age.

Teen hood
Gweneth has been gambling for quite some time at this age, but it's only because it's the only thing she knows. She was technically pure; untouched by anything other than the sin of minor greed. One day, Gweneth found her luck in a case that would frighten most teenagers: she was kidnapped. It was a typical gambling day, Wednesday to be specific, and the Tyrants were tearing up the casino. Mr. Tyrant, a man Gwenenth never knew the first name of, left her alone at the pool table while he went to double the stacks at a Bingo game. Gweneth was never taught about stranger danger, so when a shady cheetah asked her for a game she had no reason to say no. At that instant, she was gagged, blindfolded and carried out the door. She was thrown into the back of the truck, and the cheetah drove away. Gweneth was scared and terrified. It was traumatic for her because it was just like when she was born: blind, lame and unable to do anything but hear the cars go by, nobody able to help her. She believed in no religion, so she was truly hopeless, until she remembered the rogue cheetah wanted to play a game. Maybe this was some version of high stakes poker with her life on the line? Seeing her situation in a new life, she decided to trust on her luck to get her out of there. As if on cue, the cheetah was speeding (as all cheetahs do) and police pulled him over. Just as the police woman pulled up to him, her radio spoke up about a kidnapping of a green teenage coyote. The radio then droned on about a cheetah and a truck and the policewoman gave the cheetah a look. The officer then opened the back against the cheetah's will and there was Gweneth.

Adult hood
Gweneth, thanks to that experience, now truly, 100% believes in luck. It's helped her twice in her life and to be honest, that's enough for her. She currently is in several gambling guilds and really enjoys her craft. She now has a life goal to be continuing to test her luck to see how far it goes. She wants to train it so it can help her in even more sticky situations. Gweneth also has a eye out for trouble and avoids it at all cost. She knows being a famous gambler will already attract attention, but to get into legal trouble will surely put herself in jail. Gweneth, being in the future and being the daughter of Chronos, is lucky enough to grab hold of "Loop Holes" (holes that allow you to randomly go to the past or future). Since Gweneth is so lucky, they always take her where she wants to go. Through these holes, she was able to watch her own life go by and see who her real parents are. Upset, but still respecting them, Gweneth has never journeyed to meet them face to face, but in memory of her mother (that Gweneth really likes) she changed her last name to Freise. So, Gweneth today travels to all kinds of casinos all over the galaxy, getting friends, getting rivals and getting rich. Most importantly, she's getting lucky.

What Does Her Real Family Think of Her? And Vice Versa?:
Chronos: Who? I'm sorry, but who? I have no idea who this "Gweneth" is or what she has to do with me, but if I had to give an opinion based on what I heard of her, I'd say she's bad business. I feel ashamed of her parents not raising her right. I mean, I gamble, so I'm not going to be a hypocrite, but she's so young! Where are her parents? I demand to know where they are to teach them how to properly raise a child!
Gweneth's Opinion: Oh, you mean Pops? He's a deadbeat! Haha, kidding, kidding. He didn't even know I was born, so I can't really blame him. However, I can say I got all my luck from him. Maybe someday, if I can find him drifting in the galaxy, I can challenge him to the ultimate battle between lucks. I've heard he's beaten armies with his luck, so I'd love to see what kind of level that would be. Probably an A Rank. Ooh, I'm getting tingly all over now!

Antifreeze: Oh, you must mean number 777, Gweneth the Luckster. Yeah, I've heard of her. My Future Space Brigade Squad #483 has been running after her for months now. It's...nice to see a female gain so much power and money in real time, but I do not believe in luck. I believe in skill. And secretly, I think she does to. Documents and articles I've read say she depends on luck: I beg to differ. There is no way that a person can be that good at gambling and not have some sort of illegal cheat or scam going on. My squad cannot apprehend her unless we get some sort of lead, but we're closing in on her. I can feel it. She...strangely has a resemblance to my colleage Chronos. However, it's incredibly unlikely for him to have...what's the word...ah yes, offspring. She also has his green eyes. Not that I have...been looking or anything.
*ahem*
Gweneth's Opinion: She sounds familiar. The name gives off a taste of distant coldness, but ready, up close warmness. Oh wait, I forgot. She's my Mom, duh! Yeah, I love how my Mom has her team after me. I think she knows I'm her daughter and is secretly watching me from the past. Feh, that's just like her. I feel weird though, knowing my Mom is thousands of years old, or at least, from my standpoint. And then Pops is around my age, which is even creepier. Back to Mom now, before I get nightmares.
Mom is a great woman, and I respect her in every aspect. Except her being a law abiding citizen. That's just not fly, man! And Pops is a criminal too, so how they got together is beyond me. Though, I think Mom is also a criminal. I mean, she studies dead bodies, but serial killers too! What kind of detective does that? I really hope my Mom doesn't go attacking people. Then again, if she did, she would be pretty awesome.

Accomplices
Gwen needs accomplices more then friends. Accomplices have an unswerving loyalty to her until they get what they want. This suits Gwen's lifestyle, and that's why she has so many. She makes accomplices rather easily and usually they are people who are very different from her. She thinks by having a dynamic is can change how luck affects others and may make the people around them unlucky too. What she usually does with accomplices is group then by skill and take them with her on her large gambling trips called However, there are many traits that Gweneth likes seeing in her buddies.

Alignment: Neutral Evil

A neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with. She is out for herself, pure and simple. She sheds no tears for those she kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. She has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make her any better or more noble. On the other hand, she doesn’t have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has. The criminal who robs and murders to get what she wants is neutral evil. Some neutral evil villains hold up evil as an ideal, committing evil for its own sake. Most often, such villains are devoted to evil deities or secret societies. The common phrase for neutral evil is "true evil." Neutral evil is the most dangerous alignment because it represents pure evil without honor and without variation.

Her Favorite Casino Games
Now, as an avid gambler, Gwen loves all the things you can do at the casino. She also loves how the chances of getting scammed are larger then getting a five dollar bill in penny slots. However, there are ten games Gwen just loves to play non stop, hour on hour, end on end. She has trophies for each of these and she's hasn't stop getting these either. Here are her top ten games. Try to see if your good at any of them; she dares you.

10.Slots
Slots are a game where you normally insert a coin or a dollar and you press a button or pull down a lever. There are wheels inside the machine, normally 3-5, and when you press the button/pull the lever the wheels inside the machine you get paid according to how the pictures match up.
Gwen's Opinion: "I love slots, I really do. However, it's not so much on luck. More so, it's on timing and what position the wheels are at. I don't play it as much unless I can visually see that the stakes are high. What does that mean? Why, when the odds of winning at 1/600 or higher. What? You think that's high. Pff. That's why it's 10th on my list. Not much luck here."

9. Pachinko
Pachinko is a recreational Japanese arcade game but others have turned it into a form of gambling. A pachinko machine looks similar to a pinball machine, but it has no flippers and uses a larger number of pinballs. You fire balls into the machine and those fall down into a clustered bunch of pins. If the balls go in certain defined areas, and then more balls can be released. The point of the game is to capture as many balls as you can. These balls then can be cashed in for prizes.
Gwen's Opinion: "Oh gosh, isn't this a fun game. See, if I have any kids I'd get them into this first. It's like playing an arcade game but without tickets you get tiny metal balls. It's also easier to see if you have more then your friend verses tickets and they won't get easily destroyed. I play it more for fun then luck, because gravity is really the only thing your playing against. Still, it's great to play and get sushi prizes!"

8. The Big Six (Wheel of Fortune)
You play this game by placing your bets on one of 6 symbols on the game table. You then spin the wheel (like in the game show) and the wheel is divided into 52 sections that are separated by pins around the edge (like the game show). When the wheel comes to a stop, the pointer will be in between two pins. Whoever placed a bet on the symbol the pointer stopped at wins.
Gwen's Opinion: I frog leapin' love this game! Even though the odds are 1 to 6 (which are not even baby odds) it's just fun to say. It's really for the more relaxed who aren't up in your lawn grill trying to stress a lady out. It's nice, relaxing and fun. Also simple. Real simple. Almost. . .boring simple. I've had to make odds where I had to get a certain number of symbols in a row just to just the tiniest feeling that I'm testing my luck. It's just so depressingly boring I wonder why Pachinko and Slots aren't in front of it. Okay, I think this list is rigged now.

7. Pai Gow Poker
This is a version of poker is played against the house instead of the surrounding players. The dealer will deal out seven cards to every player and themselves in rotation. The players look at the cards in their hand and try to make 5-card and 2-card poker hands. The 5-card hand must rank higher then the 2-card hand, but once this is achieved the hands are then compared against the dealers. If both hands happen to beat the dealer, the player wins, but if both lose, then the player loses. If the dealer and the player both win a hand, it is called a push.
Gwen's Opinion: This game is quite fun but I'm still not a big fan of poker based games. Sure, they're the staple of gambling, but I don't gamble because I'm obsessed with money. I do it to become better at using my luck. If there were better places to test my luck other then putting my life constantly in danger I'd probably do that instead. Anyway, I always get pushes and win. It gets to the point that no one plays Pai Gow with me, even if I blind fold myself. Once, I got for my two-card hand two kings and for my five-card a straight. No one wants to play with insanity like that in such a simple game. It's like using an automatic in a paintball war. It's just not fair.

6. Blackjack (21)
Blackjack is another card game played between the house and the player. The dealer deals out two cards to each individual player and themselves. The dealer will have one card face up, and one face down. The players will then take turns desiring to get as close to the number value 21 without going over. Aces are equivalent to 1 or 11. Face cards will be worth 10 and number cards have the value that their numeral is. The player will announce the word "hit" to get a card and stand to end their turn. A player also has the option to call double to double their bets and may only receive one single card and end their turn. If a player has two cards that are identical they may split. This requires them to double their bet and then obtain two more cards, which allows them to make two new hands that they can play. After each and everyone of the players turns are over, the dealer reveals their card. The dealer then will call hit if the total is 16 or less and will stand on 17 and higher. Everyone who has a hand that beats the dealer without going over 21 wins.
Gwen's Opinions: Blackjack, yeah! Some fierce luck here. It's not only a game of luck, but one of speed. I'm always the first to double my bets. To be honest, I'm not the best at this game, but it's a lot of fun to play. I always get aces. Probably because how I gamble is so ace. However, I have trouble saying the word "hit". Mostly because when I think of hit, I think of "hit on" or hit as in punched. If you're ever going to punch me, just play Blackjack with me. Then you'll have a reason.

5. Poker
The most famous card game associating with gambling, poker is a card game that has the players start off with a 5 cards. The ranking of hands from the highest to lowest value are a royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, and pair. The player who has the best hand wins.
Gwen's Opinions: Poker is poker. There is not much to say. It's great to play. It's one of the only games I've lost in. I'd rather not talk about it. This is the 2nd game I will act like a sore loser about.

4. Baccarat
In this game, each player has a choice of three options: Player, Tie and Banker. When every player places their bets, the dealer will then deal out two two-card hands; one will be the banker hand while the other is the player hand. The hands are then added up. If the total goes over then, you subtract 10 from the sum ( 7+5=12 so 12-10=2). A hand equaled to 10 is called a baccarat and becomes a 0. The winning hand would be the higher of the two and anyone who had a corresponding bet wins.
Gwen's Opinions: Oh darn it. This game. This is one of those games I have trouble with because I'm not really the best at math. However, there is a reason why it's in my top 5. It cool that baccarat basically means zero. I love calling people that because it makes them mad that they have no idea what it means. Haha. Also, I do like the idea of if you go over you're basically at an advantage unless your luck is prime that day. I have also lost in this game, but I'm not going to be a sore loser about it. I lost simply because I think 6's and 9's look and are similar.

3. Keno
Keno is a lottery based game where the player gets a card numbered 1 to 80. The player then is allowed to pick up to 20 numbers and makes a wager. The card is then recorded and the game starts. The caller then will randomly call 20 drawn number. The player then will try to match and see how many of the numbers they have said are the same as the caller. They do not have to be in order. The more numbers that are matched the more money is won.
Gwen's Opinions: Wow, just wow. Almost a whoa, but for now a wow. 1-80 sections wise is a lot, so a lot of luck can be gained from this game. I love the whole card idea; it defeats the ideas of cheating, but there are still only ways. Heh heh. Wait! Don't get me wrong, I don't cheat, but it's almost easy to cheat in these kids of games. It's like a pre-recorded Bingo. Speaking of bingo. . .

2. Bingo
BINGO! This is a game where players try to match the numbers randomly drawn (or said out loud) with the one's on their sheet to win. The card board consists of a 5x5 matrix where the columns are represented by the letters in Bingo. The middle square is usually a free square. You try to match a complete straight line that must have five squares filled. This line can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Usually diagonal lines go through the free space. The first person to get a straight line yells out "Bingo!" and once the card is checked they win.
Gwen's Opinions: B-I-N-G-O! Oh my fate, I love bingo. I remember playing it as a child when I had no real toys to play with. This game really helped me get through some tough times. I remember living with this family and there was this young hound pup named Bingo. We'd go to casinos all the time. He wasn't that bad lookin' either. . . you heard nothing. Anyway, bingo is such a fun game to play even kids got a hold of it. It's nice to know that it's used for gambling too. Now that I think about it, it's rather hypocritical for people to be against gambling and then want their kids playing tops, marbles and bingo. All those games can be used for gambling! Anyway, Bingo is the way to go.

1. Roulette
In the game of roulette, the player will place "chips" on the table where they would like to wager. The table consist of numbers going from 00, 0-36 and then even had more bets for even-odd, red-black, low 18-high 18, the first/second/third columns, low 18-high 18 and low/middle/high 12. The player is allowed to place their bet between numbers 2-5 and may cross bet between the additional betting area. The dealer will notify them if they will allow no more bets for that round. The dealer will then spin the wheel in a turn that goes in the clockwise direction. The ball they will roll will be in a counter-clockwise direction. The ball then will land in a numbered slot on the wheel and all bets that correspond with the number win!
Gwen's Opinions: There is a reason why I love this game. I just love the idea of the roulette game. It spins one way, while the ball spins the other. What a great way to test your luck. You never know if the ball may stop prematurely. Besides, haven't you seen all those shows where the victor gets these huge mounds of chips. It's really fun, and there is so luck involved I could almost blush and faint. I'm literally married to Roulette. Find me a guy with that name and he's mind. I'd fight for him. Haha, I always put my bet between the numbers 2 and 3 and always cross bet. That's a sure way to win. Then again, you can't just take my tips. You need luck equal to mine to be able to use them, and your alphabet luck rating looks like an F at best. Sorry. Eheh. I better stop thinking of all these games. I'm getting really antsy to start testing my luck right now!
