FIRST OFF
Alright so Fluffies are the breed that I came up with for mine and my twin's fursonas Fluffy and Charm. They are not a real creature and in fact have a very fictional and, I think, interesting background. I'm going to try and set this post up like a wiki page so please be patient with me ^-^
OVERVIEW
Fluffies are in technicality a created species. They are derived from many mammalian and a few avian species as well as humans and vampires. They were a failed attempt on the part of a certain mad scientist vampire who was trying to create a were-cat as a companion. The appearance of a fluffy can vary greatly with which of its traits are stronger and it seems to have little to do with their genetics which are highly unstable. The word "Fluffy" was assigned to describe the species from its English meaning of "downy: like down or as soft as down."
ORIGIN
Fluffies were in fact created by Professor Alexander P. Bridgeman, a highly sophisticated vampire who, in exception for his vampiric Nephew Samuel, had grown lonely in his old age. A man who was very interested in biology and the nature of creatures; at age 238 he decided that he would attempt to create a creature similar to were-wolves, except with more cat like tendencies and features. During this attempt his quill was sent into the air by a gust from the window, and as he took in a breath to mutter to himself more, it tickled his now,causing him to sneeze. This led to his arm trying to sweep up to his nose and knocking many vials with different animal DNA, along with his own from the sneeze itself, into the mix. After an explosion what was left, somehow, were three small creatures differing in traits, but all about the size of small squirrels and all baring wings of some sort. He immediately took a liking to these creatures and to this day considers them and all their descendant his precious children.

PHYSIOLOGY
Fluffies differ greatly from one another and it has often been wondered if they shouldn't have a few sub-species, but their is a distinct more common appearance for them. This consists of large ears and eyes, small noses and mouths, large heads and somewhat small bodies. Their tails are particularly fluffy and furry, though there is a common disorder in the Fluffies that causes the end of their tail to be bloated and rounder then the rest for some reason. While their are still many Fluffies with a normal tail, most Fluffies have this disorder. Their sizes range from very small domestic cats to large hamster sizes. On average they are about the size of a small squirrel. They almost always sport a pair of wings or some other means of flying or gliding, but they differ among almost every sort of wing imaginable. They are very light weighted and their bones carry the trait or being honeycombed like their bird ancestors. The magic of their species makes itself known in that their fur changes patterns with their personalities and habits.
HABITATS AND PREFERRED LOCATIONS
While it is all dependent on the single Fluffy's personality, on a whole most Fluffies prefer to live in high up, breezy places, or caves in the sides of cliffs. Often times they will also find their places among humans as pets or companions. With their usually thick, fluffy fur they prefer colder climates to hotter ones and like to be able to curl up to warm themselves in well lit sunny places. When sleeping they usually reside within nests made of soft and comfy materials they can find. Moss and human made cloth are preferred such items and clothes are often stolen by Fluffies for their nests. These nests also become important when a fluffy feels it is time to have children.
BREEDING AND EARLY CHILDHOOD
Along with being clothes thieves, Fluffies also often steal unfertilized eggs from human refrigerators or abandoned nests. These eggs are important for the "breeding" process as Fluffies are biological hermaphrodites and have no true gender, though often times they claim one for themselves or distinctly act in a way that humans would find more feminine or masculine. Rather then fertilizing these eggs the normal way, two or more Fluffies will come together at a nest with one egg in it and cast a strong magic spell together that causes the egg to produce a Fluffy offspring. Because it is such a strong spell, it takes at least two Fluffies to do this; however, if there is a lot of magic put into the egg it may hatch with twins or even, on rare occasion, triplets. Twins are in fact the most common outcome from Fluffy eggs as often times Fluffies rest for a while and store up a lot of magic before casting the spell. The spell can be cast between two lovers wanting a child, a community of Fluffies lacking a new generations, or even just a few pubescent Fluffies wanting to cause a little trouble and joy. And in fact, since all the spell takes is a single Fluffy with the ability to direct the magic of life towards the egg, inter-species breedings and half Fluffies are far from uncommon.
As young Fluffies, sometimes referred to as kits, Flufflings, or even Furlings, they are usually showered with love and care and encouraged to do whatever it is their hearts desire. This is at least among their own kind. The pressures of humans can often interfere with a Fluffling's life causing mental and physical pain, even without knowing it. Many Flufflings are strongly effected by Empathy or Apathy, and if they live by one or the other around humans too long, it is likely to become permanent. For the most part Flufflings enjoy happy, creative, care free lives unless around humans.
