What do you like about this pup: He looks tribal and exotic. I love the simple colors and design, it's not so simple to be boring but it's not overbearing to the eyes. It gives a chance for the character to be developed without focusing so much on appearances. I'm going to say something, and it won't make sense until I'm done talking so bear with me: "The unseen hunter catches more prey." Something else I like about him is that he looks like he would fit right in with the characters I am using in a story of mine.

I haven't yet figured out whether it's in our world/time or not (even though I have already been writing it, haha), but it's sort of based on Incan/Mayan/Aztec/other Central or South American ancient civilization tribal stuff, etc. etc. And they hunt and farm and live their lives, blah blah, and eventually the plot picks up, etc. etc. and it seems like it will be a pleasure to write. And I like this guy and would love to have him in it. That's where that quote comes in: I feel like it is something he would say in the story. His design and colors are not too garish, and I feel both his body and his personality would tend to blend into the background a bit, so he'd be all cryptic and "I blend well with the surroundings which is a good thing" and whatnot.

Oh, and I have this headcanon where his mane isn't actually his own fur but a removable mane thing for decorative/ritualistic purposes. But I haven't decided yet whether I would actually implement that were I to win him. It might be just as interesting to have him keep the mane as a part of him.
