Short story about him/her (optional):
Teeth lifted his head to watch a rat, very similar to the ones he had seen in the lab that he made him what he was now, scurried across the dirty ground to sniff at a small chunk of wood that wasn't edible. His heart almost went out to the little starving creature, but in his world he had to do things he wasn't proud of to survive. Like....like this. With a deft flick of his paw, the rat lay lifeless on the ground with deep claw marks in its neck, directly cutting through the trachea and esophagus. He knew things like anatomy, because he'd been programmed that way. Teeth slowly brought the dead rat closer, then placed it in his pile of morning kills. He'd managed to catch three desperate rats before this one, and all he would need for his breakfast was another one scurrying his way.

Lalith suspiciously eyed the path in front of him, his large paws shuffling around small, smooth stones as he went through a battle of good and evil on the subject of whether or not he should take the path. In his tribe, a warrior was selected with the coming of every generation to go down this path and see if they could find the forever regenerating carcass of the Mighty Buck. The Mighty Buck was no laughing matter, either. When Lalith was young, just a puppy, his father sat him and his siblings down to tell them the tale of the great herbivore.
Long ago, when the springs and the summers melded together, there lived a small pack of mangy wolves. Their leader, banished from his birth pack due to his greed, was a tyrant and cruel alpha. One warrior in his pack, his name last now as decades pass, resented his leader, and made a vow to the wind and to the water that he would defeat this alpha. He did not have the strength, sadly, to fight his leader.
Lalith blinked and shook his head to clear it, then began down the path. He would not be consumed by greed, or ruled by fear.
