I look down and flatten my ears, all hope was beginning to fade. I frown and lift my head back up, letting out a strong howl, stronger than any howl I had ever made, in hope of someone from the pack would hear it, praying someone would find us.

Max's ears flattened scaredly, cowering closer to the ground like it was his only friend as shasta used her mighty lungs to call for help. He whimpered and put his head on his paws sadly, hope was quickly beginning to leave his mind.
