Basic information
Username: dark dragon
Kennel number: 2

Why do you want this character? Well I have never heard of a Deercat before so I want to learn more about the species in general and he (I assume it is male because of the antlers) and I am very interested in him because he is so long and lean I can imagine him defending his territory from a rival Deercat and running around the woods (I have deer that live by my house and I enjoy watching the behavior patterns so I can just imagine him in that herd)
Where will you use it, and what will you use it for?
I am writing a short story collection involving every single character I own! And I spoil them with art!
Character information
Name: Orion
Gender: Male
Personality:
Strong: He is massive and pure muscle and can easily out run a mountain lion!
Kind: If he sees a animal (non carnivore) in need of help he will not stop until everything is done!
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Gentle: He will not hurt any animal unless it is trying to harm a herd member! He is a truly gentle giant.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Bold: He will try anything to keep his herd safe from harm be it from humans to animals he will keep them safe at all cost!
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
History: He is an escapee from a mad scientist who greatly enjoys mixing animal species to see what the outcome will be. And Orion is one such hybrid. A fire destroyed a large warehouse that the young creatures were kept in!
This is what the news report said on that incident:
news cast on site said:
I am here at the site of a major fire that destroyed a large warehouse on the waterfront just yesterday, and it seems that some kinds of animals were killed in the inferno and it looks like the propane tank for the heating system appears to have malfunctioned and then exploded so most of the animals died from the blast but a few managed to escape (Insert photo of random hybrid animal here) and they are now at an animal sanctuary to have their wounds treated and will be living in the sanctuary due to the fact that we have no idea what these animals are. So back to you news caster 1.

Wow those poor animals please remember that the shelter is on a tight budget this year so if you have extra blankets cat litter cat toys cat food and dog toys and dog food to help those creatures. Now onto our next story of the night...
So Orion barely survived the explosion and the fire that followed and he was kept at the animal sanctuary until he was healed and was strong enough to survive on his own or with a group.
And then a zoo took most of the animals to put on display and well a few got loose and ran into the woods....
(Fast forward two days)
After wandering around what seemed like forever to Orion he came across a small fawn in the woods all alone and he stayed with the little fawn until the mother came back a few hours later and the mother was impressed by his actions and so the female deer and the little fawn stayed with him and hence his small herd was formed!
(A few years later)
His small family has grown quite a bit as more females came to stay with him and a strange mutation has been spotted around his territory. A few little fawns have very long tails and shorter snouts. Quite unusual for white tail deer........
(The next day)
My observations day 1:
I have decided to write down the behavior of the deer that live in the fields and pasture around my house so here is the first entry:

The leader of the herd is a large male with a twelve point rack of antlers his territory seems to cover the whole farm and woods around the house. (It is owned by some friends and they gave me permission to explore all of the land that they own)
About five females and three fawns travel with him. The female in the lead appears to be blind in one eye and the little fawn has a very long tail like the male I wonder what the record is for tail length of a deer?

I have decided to call the leader Orion he is a prime specimen to observe! Today they stayed around the farm pond (I don't blame them it was hot in the sun today!) The fawns are so cute! I love watching them! The one with the blind mother is not as strong as the others I hope it is okay!

Today I could not find the deer herd? I wonder why? The farmer does not allow hunters on his land? I hope they are okay!

I found the herd they went to an area I haven't been too for a long time it is over by a cedar stand they love cedar trees! They are doing well. Orion was browsing around the base of a tree and he looks healthy and the fawns are getting stronger every day! Even the weaker one is doing much better! The mother was grooming her and looking pleased. The other females all have personality's
Doe one:
Blind in one eye.
Has one fawn.
The other does give her space she is much older then the others.
Doe two:
Light tan with one white ear.
No fawns.
She is not as graceful and elegant as the others? She is quite silly!
Doe three:
Dark brown with a scar on her back perhaps from an attack from a mountain lion?
Two fawns.
Spunky! She has attitude! Orion whacked her in the face with his tail one time
and she struck him with her hoof on the nose! (He has not done that since!)
Doe four:
Dark brown like baking cocoa with cream spots still showing a bit still quite young.
No fawns.
The smallest of the five and as such she stays on the outskirts of the herd.
Doe five:
Light tan with darker brown legs and ears.
Two fawns.
She is quite shy and jumpy! Very protective of her baby's!

Today I hid a critter cam in the woods to get some photos of them and I got 397 photos of squirrels a chipmunk and my dog! (mostly of the dog wanting to eat the chipmunk) Not a single one of the herd! Ugg I will put video camera up today and see what I get.
