Yesterday marked the end of Le Carnaval, Pixel Dog's first event. I believe it was a great success, and you can definitely expect more events in the future. Until the Halloween event begins and ends, this thread will remain a closed WIP. Normal litters and all of that are on hiatus, as the Halloween event should be starting within the next few days. Litter released will now be happening on Wednesdays, however starting in December litter releases will be on the weekends.

Hello and welcome to the section where Axel the almighty mini-mod explains Pixel Dog's system of warnings, suspensions, and bannings. Beebop and I discussed and came up with the system, and can and will make changes to it whenever we deem it necessary. This is a very important section, so you should definitely read it as soon as you possibly can.

★ Everyone who posts starts with zero warnings, and is blacklisted when they reached three. No exceptions.
★ If you break the rules, post a form for something that is closed, or do something else that is deemed warn-worthy, you will recieve your first warning.
★ Axel keeps track of users who have been warned in a file on her computer, so there's no way for you or others to see your level.
★ It is your responsibility to read/skim the thread and keep track of your own warning level. No staff member will ever PM you to tell you that you were warned or suspended.
★ After your second warning, you are given a suspension (AKA temporary ban). The ban will last anywhere from 2 - 7 days. If you post during that time, you will be blacklisted.
★ Once you recieve your third warning, you will be added to the blacklist. Once added, you can never leave.
★ If you're on the blacklist and post, your posts will be reported officially for deletion by the CS staff. Continued posting will end in a staff member contacting a CS mod.
★If you are blacklisted and need to contact a staff member for a PD-related reason, please PM them. You won't get in trouble for it.
★ Warnings may, however, be removed if they are slight enough. In some cases a formal apology will be enough, and in others you will need to take a voluntary suspension. Not all warnings are removable.
★ Posting during a voluntary ban will give you a warning, because that shows us that you weren't serious and don't actually care about reducing your warning level. If you're not serious about it, don't ask for one.
★ If a mini-mod sees you being extremely helpful or courteous on the thread, he or she may discuss with the other staff removing a single warning. This will be very rare. Do not count on it happening.
★ If Beebop and the mini-mods are offline and you feel that someone has earned a warning, PM a link to their post to Axel or Beebop and explain your reasoning.

Doing the following things will earn you one warning each. Some are more severe than others, and that one warning may be enough to blacklist you. In short: if you want to stay off the blacklist, don't do them. This list may be updated at any time, so be sure to skim over it every so often so you don't accidentally acquire a warning. Ignorance is not an excuse.

★ Breaking the rules.
★ Not reading the front page (Its very easy to tell if you haven't.)
★ Posting forms for things that are closed (Always read recent posts and see if the slots/eggs are taken before you post a form)*.
★ Posting forms for injections that are out of stock.
★ Rushing Beebop to finish customs, complete breedings, release litters, add new features, etc.
★ Rushing other artists to finish customs, complete breedings, release litters, etc.
★ Begging for anything (CS pets, dogs, eggs, breedings, customs, dragons, a staff position, etc).
★ Out-of-left-field spam**.
★ Not obeying any staff member.

*During the rush when eggs are first released, customs are first opened, etc, no one will receive warning for posting forms when all eggs are taken or all slots are closed. We understand that many people stalk and post forms the second things open, resulting in many posts in a very short amount of time. However, once its made clear that these things are now closed or the hype has died down enough to read through recent posts, posting a form will earn you a warning.

**Out-of-left-field spam refers to spam that is completely random and has nothing to do with the topic on hand. We all know that conversations can easily slip into being off-topic, and no one participating in such conversations will recieve a warning as long as they stop when asked to or as soon as they realize that they're no longer on-topic. At that point, please take it to PMs.

A lot of people have been asking these questions, so hopefully this will clear things up. Always make sure to check here before you post on the thread with a question!

Are Pixel Dogs free?
Adoptions and breeding are free. Everything else is paid for in CS pets or won in a contest.

Can I have a pet with these specific traits?
No, you can't choose what your egg will grow up to be unless you buy a custom or an injection.

I lost my code! What do I do?
Don't worry, PM me and I'll send you a new one.

Can I adopt more than one pet?
You can have as many pets as you like, but you are only allowed one per litter and one growing dog at a time.

How long before my dog is an adult?
The growing process happens in three stages, egg > puppy > adult. From egg to puppy takes five days, puppy to adult takes a week. You can speed up the process with a purple injection.

How often do you release pets?
I release them whenever I have the time, but there will never be more than two weeks between litters, so don't worry.

Do you need mods/artists?
No, I already have three artists and two mods, not including myself. If I need any help, I'll post something about it in the first post.

Do you want to be affiliates with my growables store?
Sure, PM me with details!

How come I claimed an egg before everyone else but it still says it's up for adoption?
I haven't had the time to come around and edit the page yet. You got the egg, don't worry. It'll just take a minute before it shows up.

Hey, I claimed that egg! How come someone else got it?
Either you didn't follow the rules properly or that person claimed the egg before you did, sorry.

Did you do the art for Pixel Dogs? Will you do art for me?
Yes, I did the Pixel Dogs lineart. No, I'm not doing customs right now unless you have real money to offer or you've won contest prize. I've gotten way too many requests and I can't keep up.

Do I HAVE to keep my dog in my signature?
Not necessarily. You can keep them in your signature, your pet page, or wherever, but you need to post them somewhere on CS at all times. I want these pets to go to good homes.

I ordered a custom. Why don't I have it yet?
It might take a few days, it might take a week, but you will get your custom as soon as I can get it to you. Please don't rush me.

When do you open customs/breeding?
When I have the time. I'll probably be opening them once a month or so, so keep your eyes peeled.

I'm on the blacklist! Can I get off?
Nope, sorry. If you're on the blacklist, that means you're a repeat rule breaker and you've been warned. Once you're there, you're there.

Beebop, someone's copying your idea!
There are a lot of other adoptable agencies throughout CS, so I'm not too worried. Still, if you think there's a true copycat running around I'd like to know. PM me about it.

Dude, that pet is a dragon! Can I get one?
Please don't ask for dragons. They were given out as a one-time special and will not be available in litters or breedable pairs until further notice. You may order one as a custom for the price listed below or win one in an auction or contest. Other than that, please don't beg for one!

History
Pixel dogs are tiny, canine-like creatures that can be found all over the world in moderate climates. They're not actually a member of the canine family, but look and act so similarly they're commonly called dogs. When full size they are still very small, making them venerable and delicate. Still, they're affectionate, easy to train, and make great pets.
Their coats can show any color of the rainbow and a multitude of different patterns. No two dog's markings are the same. Pixel dogs also exhibit a variety of different traits, making for an incredibly diverse group of animals. Little is actually known about their genetic relatives or history, but agencies like this one are working hard to discover more about this endangered species.
What we do know of their history is very sad. From books and old records, we think there were once many more dogs in the world than there are today, maybe as many as a few hundred thousand. The temperate climates they called home were the most attractive to human settlers, and people wasted no time in destroying their natural habitats and taking the land for themselves. People were also fascinated when they found the eggs. Pixel dog eggs are tiny, but show just as much color as the adults do. Naturally, the eggs were quickly stolen, hollowed out, and used as ornaments, jewelry, or specimens for museums. Over a period of about fifty years, the population was nearly eliminated.
Because of this, the remaining dogs began to leave their homes to search for mates. There used to be distinct groups of dogs, each with their own traits specialized for the area they lived in. Now, these "pure bred" dogs are almost impossible to come by. The ones we know today are hybrids, the result of breeding between groups. Over the years, some traits have become more rare while others have flourished, but as far as we know none have been lost.
Today, pixel dogs are a rare sight in the wild. Luckily, though, people began to take notice of their disappearance before it was too late. They gathered as many dogs as they could and took them into the safety of captivity, so the species lives on through agencies like this one and through the people who adopt dogs as their pets.

Early Growth
A pixel dog's lifespan is virtually unlimited when sickness and predators are taken out of the picture, but the growth process is surprisingly short. A newborn dog will reach full maturity in just two week's time.
Each baby dog is born as a tiny egg, a "preview" of it's adult markings visible on the shell.
They remain eggs for about five days, growing rapidly in preparation for hatching. After they've become strong enough, they will break through their shells and enter the puppy stage of life.
Dogs will remain puppies for about a week. Although they can have short bursts of energy during this time, they spend most of their time sleeping to conserve the energy they need to fuel their growing bodies. At this stage, the only way to tell dogs apart is by their markings. Their traits won't become visible until they mature into adults.

Adult Traits
After a week of puppyhood, the adult form finally becomes visible. As of today, we know of twelve unique traits that can emerge. Each individual trait affects a different part of the dog's body, changing the appearance of either the tail, ears, or wings.

Here are all twelve traits along with an example image of each respectively. Each dog will have a combination of three, one from each category. (C = common, U = uncommon, R = rare)

1) Ears can either be pointed(C), floppy(U), or uneven(U).

2) Tails can be fluffy(C), bobbed(C), curled(R), thin(U), or long(R) (long tails only appear in dogs with wings).

3) There are butterfly wings(R), feathered wings(U), skin wings(R), and dogs with no wings at all(C).

Free adoptions here are fairly simple. Sets of six eggs will be released either every week or every other week. Eggs available for adoption will appear below the line break in this message. Each one will have a number and a gender symbol (♂ or ♀) next to it's picture. You may only have one pet per litter and only one growing dog at a time.

Simply enough, the first to post their form is the one who gets the pet. Please don't be greedy and claim pets as soon as you're allowed - that's not fair to the other players. If you already have a few dogs, let the others have a chance. I don't want to have a limit on the number of pets you can adopt, but I'll definitely add one if it's needed. Let's not make that happen!

Pets Currently Available for Adoption

You can breed a pair of pixel dogs together to get some brand new eggs. There are several rules that go along with doing this, so make sure you read them carefully:

★ You must own at least one of the dogs being bred.
★ You can breed with another user's pet, but I will need a written consent from them first.
★ If you have no one to breed with, I might be willing to let you use one of my own, so feel free to PM me about it.
★ With the exception of my pets, each dog can only be bred three times.
★ Females cannot breed for a week after their puppies have been born.
★ Each couple can only breed once.
★ There will be no same sex breeding.
★ There will also be no breeding within families, meaning mothers can't mate with their sons, etc.

Each breeding pair will produce four eggs. If there are two different owners, each gets to take two. If both dogs belong to the same owner, they can choose two for themselves, but must give the other two up. Any eggs that are unwanted or not chosen will be added to the repo list in the last post. I may put them up for adoption on occasion.
There will only be five slots available for breedings, which will be listed below.

Customs

You can order a custom made pixel dog, too. Like breeding, there is a specific set of extra rules you will need to follow:

★ I will not make major line edits, but if you'd like a custom of a character, something small is fine.
★ Payment can be made anytime, but your pet will not be made until a trade is sent.
★ One finished, customs can be bred just like any other pet (the regular rules will still apply).
★ You get to choose the markings and traits of your pet, but you pay accordingly.

The custom colors of your pet come at no charge, but you pay for the traits your dog will have. Here are your options by price:

★ Common trait: two common CS pets
★ Uncommon trait: two uncommon CS pets
★ Rare traits: two rare CS pets
★ Dragon/Cat/Horse lineart: three rare CS pets
★ Small line edit: one uncommon CS pet

You pay the price listed above for each trait your pet has, meaning you'll pay for at least three traits. You can buy three small line edits maximum per custom. Payments don't have to be exact, but alternative payments should be roughly equivalent to the actual price.
The dragon, horse, and cat lineart is available in only one style. If you want a different look, you will have to purchase one.
Like the breeding list, there will only be four custom slots.

Injections can be purchased to change the genetic makeup of your pet pixel dog. Each one has been designed to have a specific effect on the appearance or traits of the animal it is used on. Keep in mind that not all injections can be used by every dog and that administering multiple injections creates a dangerous cocktail of genes that can harm your pet, so you may only use one injection per dog. Some shots are harder to come by than others, and we don't always have a stock of everything. The text "(out of stock)" next to the price means we are currently out of that type.
