This was it. I had one chance. I stepped up to the faerre with nervousness and pulled out a simple moonstone. With a quiet sigh I placed it before her and tentatively slipped my hand into my pocket.
"A moonstone is not as shiny as the others, I know, but I believe it symbolizes what you want. No gem can shine like the moon, so the closest I could get to the moon's simple elegantness is this stone here. You see, this stone is passed off for the luxury of the shiny, pretty diamonds and such. But the diamonds cant hold the symbol of the shiny moon in their depths because you can see through them. I cant see through the moon, can you? I hope you accept this, and don't pass over for a symbolless diamond." I spoke in a quiet, soft voice. After I let my gaze go over her moon washed fur once more, I turned back and waited for the results.
