Basically, a wild herd is a group of one or two males and the remaining x number of females and their young. The males are dominant and in charge, and watch over their territory and their herd. Thats what a Tauraleum herd usually looks like C:
Domesticated herds could vary between any number of males and/or females. Any gender can take charge.
These domestic herds can also have True Mates within their herds (basically a male and a female can have multiple litters together), and also breed with each other freely (only once for every different combination).

I wild heard looks fun to set up in the archives but I think I will end up with more than just 2 males...

To clarify, the wild herds are the ones that we find and put up for adoption.
Once you adopt a tauraleum, it is domesticated. It is then added to your domesticated herd. C:
