To celebrate the opening of the Couran Cove Teuthida RP, I am setting up a week long story Contest . . . We have several Teuthida avaliable for adoption, but not just anyone can get these Royal squidlets.

The best story written for the following Teuthida will receive the squidlet and will be able to RP with it on the Couran Cove thread. The stories can be about anything, as long as you keep the necessary personality/age/species/title specifics. Your story can be used in the RP if you so desire, as long as it doesn't conflict with the RP storyline. If however you lose, you can change the specifics so it reflects your Teuthida and not the contest Teuthida.

All of the Teuthida below are related. Insidious is the Uncle of the Princes and Princesses, and the princes and princesses are all brother and sister . . .

Rules . . .

• You are creating a story about a particular Teuthida. Not a biography.
• The story should be a maximum of 500 words.
• You may only apply for the one Teuthida, so choose wisely.
• Feel free to edit your story as many times as you like
• You must keep the age, name, species, personality and title in the story.
• When writing about Insidious, you are allowed to write about his time in the Cardinal reef
• The better the spelling and grammar, the more points you get for your story. Well spaced and organized the easier it is for me to read. . .
• DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ONLY WANT THE PET. YOU MUST RP WITH THE TEUTHIDA IF YOU WIN. If you do not, then it will be taken off you.
• You have a 7 days to write a story . . .
• NO stealing someones story, or the idea from an already published work.

Other/Notes etc.: She may be young but she is still a shy, quiet and sweet soul her father is unknown and she always bothers her mom about him. Anemona enjoys also just swimming around like always, and kicking up the small pebbles watching the float than slowly sink to the bottom.
Story: Anemona lay in her cradle her ''blanket'' covered her as she breathed softly, her smooth silver rattle have old shells in it creating a jingle sound the was beautiful. Anemona loved that sound, and loved the rattle she enjoyed rubbing it feeling how smooth it was and watching it shine. Her mother Thea watched her closely, after swimming to talk to her husband, Anemona woke up with a yawn and a large stretch, her tail wiggled as she giggled and tried to swim out of her cradle in the nursery. She smiled and looked at her mom, yawning again she blinked and hugged her. Thea smiled and brought her daughter over to give her some food, grabbing her bottle Anemona quickly grabbed it and drank up the juices inside. Anemona smiled and saw down to the floor and saw around, seeing her blanket in the cradle she tried to swim up to it and grab it, she fell with a startled gasp she started to cry and Thea quickly picked her up, ,speaking to Anemona in soothing words. Grabbing her blanket she brought her outside but very close to the door.

Other/Notes etc.: Amaryllis is very smart, loves to read, and is a Princess. Her family calls her Amy or Rilly for short. I also did a bio for Amaryllis.
Amaryllis is a sweet and kind young Teuthida. She is wise for her age, and always eager to lend a helping hand. She makes friends very easily, and is very curious about the world around her, even the human world, but she isn't quite so adventurous as to go and seek out a human. She'd rather read about it.
Story: It might be a little over the limit, but I'm not sure. Idk, am I the only one that has applied for Amaryllis?

Amaryllis loved reading. It was her one true passion. Adelardo was a leader, and he was good at it. He’d be a wonderful Emperor someday. Aleyda was a debator, she was a wonderful negotiator and good at winning arguments and getting what she wanted. Cadmus was a Warrior, and a good strategist . Amaryllis---well, she was a reader. She was wise, and sweet, and compassionate. She remembered the day her parents gave her control over the Teuthida Archives. It was the best day of her life.
“Oris, I just don’t think we can keep it running. There’s no one to run it,” Thea persuades, her normally honey-smooth voice corrupted with sadness.
“Thea, don’t you think I know that?!” Oris snapped, but then he sighed, and rubbed a tentacle across his brow. “It’s just that the Archives are so important to our culture. All our schools are based off that information. It’s practically more important than our Treasury, dear. If we close the Achives, we condemn our people to ignorance.”
Amaryllis overheard all this by listening outside her parents’ door. Her mouth formed an ‘o’ in horror. They couldn’t close the Archives! It was her favorite place in the entire Kingdom! The young Princess swam away from her parent’s door and threw herself down on her sponge bed in tears.
Then, the door swung open, and Aleyda swaggered in. Now, Aleyda was pretty tough. She was stubborn, headstrong, a bit bossy, but capable of being very sweet and usually meant well, despite her rough impressions. She was a ‘This is me, take it or leave it’ kind of girl, and most people loved her for it. “What’s wrong Rilla?” she asked, a bit of concern in her voice, but mostly ruled by a bored drawl.
Amaryllis looked up at her sister with tears in her eyes. “They’re going to close the Archives,” she said mournfully.
At this, Aleyda became noticeably more concerned. “But---our entire Kingdom benefits from the Archives!” she exclaimed.
“Mother said that there’s no one to run it. Aleyda, you’re good at winning arguments. Please try and talk them out of it?” Amaryllis asked, hope shining in her eyes.
Aleyda softened, and patted Amaryllis’ head wordlessly, then exited the room. Amaryllis knew she was going to talk to their parents.
Soon, Amaryllis heard shouting from her parents’ room. The most dominant voice was Aleyda’s.
“Father! We can’t close the Archives. Without them, our entire Kingdom will go from educated, bright Teuthida to being bumbling idiots who can’t take care of themselves. Our entire life story is in that room, and you want to close it? What if we forget? History will repeat itself without all those books full of our mistakes to stop us. And I know just the Squidlet to keep the Archives running,” she said, fired up at the beginning of her speech but sounding rather smug at her last statement.
“Who?”
“Amaryllis. She is very responsible and loves the Archives. She’d take wonderful care of it and you know it,” Aleyda said.
There was silence, and then the door opened, and Emperor Oris stepped out of the Study, and came into Amaryllis’ room, holding something behind his back. “Rilla,” he crooned. “I must ask you to keep a promise for me.”

In the moments that followed, Emperor Oris handed Amaryllis a key, and made her undergo the Archives Oath. It was rather binding, but Amaryllis didn’t care. She had the one thing she wanted most. The Archives—and the best part was, she was in charge of it all.
