Adorable though. While digging in your old Photobucket account I found +- 3 breedings, 35 V.1s, 4 vague versions, and a crying Lenarion. Don't make him cry.

Actually, it's quite adorable. In a way.
It surprises me though. All of my research (read: stalking) is quite fun. I found all of the diffenent threads and the Photobucket account, the people that helped you, dates, programmes used to make them... Lol. But the archive says there are like 40 V1 adopts, 30 V2 and only 20 V3... What's going wrong..?

I'm afraid of that old thread haha. I laugh at myself every time I look at it. We had a fairly large community back then, and no adoption limit, so the same people could adopt as many as they wanted without running out of space. The V.2 lenarions were on oekaki so that allowed COPPAs to adopt them as well, but I decided fairly quickly that I hated the lineart there and that I dislike using oekaki for coloring so we moved to where I could make a lineart I actually like and color them more easily. These haven't been open super long, only 4 months to make 20 V3 lenarions. I'd love to get more variety though. Perhaps an artist contest?
My only worry with that is that every time I've done one in the past, the artists don't actually produce after they've been chosen or they get discouraged(understandably) because we're not popular enough to get a lot of applications.
Hopefully over time that will change. We just need to get the community more active. Perhaps get a good roleplay going like sexy.vexy mentioned, since the one we tried to get going died within only a few posts. And then some fun competitions and stuff. Maybe more gift art. Just things so that people feel like there is actually something fun to do with their lenarions after they adopt them.

Hmm. Maybe that could work, yes. I don't know, I stepped out of short forum roleplaying a long while ago. Maybe you should ask her about that.
If you need more variety, I might be able to help. I think that the Lenarions for adoption now have the same kind of themes.. They look good, but some possible owners just don't like the colour scheme. An idea is to make +- 5 differently coloured Lenarions to throw in or something... I don't know, I have never really had the courage to apply for an artist 'job' so I don't have much experience with what would entertain people.

Idea. Paint splotches. We could make an artist set... Or instead of a competition for who adopts the Lenarion a raffle for a special Lenarion (like that one with wings... It looks super awesome!)

Yeah, I'll start brainstorming with Des and Cion and see what we as staff can come up with. I'd definitely like to see where we could get with a few artists(you know, rather than just me and my half-rate designs), maybe some palette suggestions, potential design suggestions, and lots of fun contests. I'd love to hear a lot from the community(you've been doing great with your suggestions Engghaen) so I know what people are really looking for and what would draw their eye and get them more active.
I'd like to do some shorter contests as well, but I feel like a lot of those need a larger following before we can get super far with those since we don't get very many applications even when contests are left open for 2 weeks at a time.
Anyway, basically keep brainstorming, we'll get these guys active yet!

I believe this is because there is no story line or adventure set up before hand
And whilst roleplaying if there isnt really a goal to move forward with it dies pretty
quickly~

I think an artist competition would be exceptional... if you created a set of lines here on cs in the Oekaki for people to color in
and picked a winner from there to color the lines here... I think there is usually a sort of "background check" as in the judges have a form to read and can look at the Oekaki work of the user...or DA work

Hurr hurr, the crying one was created to make people pity the rejected lenarions that didn't get adopted their first time. So that little dear wasn't adopted during his first chance being put ufa and the second time I put him up with the crying lines and surprisingly it made people pity him and adopt him quickly.
I'd make a roleplay, but honestly I have never made one that is actually successful. Probably because my plots suck pretty badly. But if anyone wants to make one, they're welcome to do so.
Yeah, I'll definitely have to work on the artist competition. I'd like to see how people do with the off-site lines, but I also don't want to hand out lenarion lines to random people I don't know. So an oekaki competition is probably the only way we can do that. Going to have to be more picky than I used to be, but I think if we can get some really good artists we will likely get more interest.
As for fun competitions, if anyone has any ideas, feel free to post or PM me about them. Just let me know what you want to see and I'll try my best to provide

Okay, I have more ideas (and thanks, I try)... I'll sum all of thrm up. Sorry if I named ones before.

Raffle. Easy, but you'll have the chance that the adopter will neglect the Lenarion s/he got and we don't want that. On the other hand, it's good to crank up new interested.

Plushies/Teddies for Lenarions. This is more of an event, but next to the Lenarions you can also adopt a teddy per Lenarion so they have a friend. Roleplaying opportunities maybe? This could maybe work as a custom. A wishlist/two/three per teddy.

Colour buckets. People adopt a paint bucket instead of a normal Lenarion and at a certain time they get to see the Lenarion they adopted (Lenarions should have some similarities, paint splotches, etc).

Maybe the winning entries from the artist competition can be turNed into real Lenarions as a first job for the artist? That'd be cool for sure. You'd have a pair of different Lenarions, a happy artist, happy people and happy Green Person. All happy c:

Sweet, I've taken your suggestions down :3 Also, would anyone be interested in a lenarion easter hunt? When I used to have Nadonas, I went back through my old posts and randomly edited event nadonas into posts. Whoever found one and posted it on the thread with a name and gender first got to keep that one, basically a first-come first-served easter-egg hunt(since you know April is coming up).
