Hello everyone, ARTISTS in particular! Wolphee here to clarify some things and introduce some new rules. Myself, and certain other people, have noticed some things that need to be addressed.
One thing is paint rarity. Many artists don’t seem to understand what the levels of rarity mean, possibly under no fault of their own because the explanation on the front page is pretty basic, hence why I’m clarifying. What I’m talking about are these here:
Normal (also called Common) – A Paint wolf will only have one type of Paint that it can use, one paint, one colour! It will live like that forever! It’s the most common type of Paint Wolf too!
Uncommon – This type of Paint Wolf will actually have two colours it can use!
Rare – This type is special because as you know Black, White and Grey are not colours they are shades, and this kind of Paint Wolf only knows how to paint in shades! Black, White and Grey paints go here!
Special- Special’s can range from 3 or more paints that one can use, to even a special themed kind!
Normal/Common paint means that the paint is of one color, not grayscale, and has NO SPECIAL POWER OR TRAIT AT ALL. It is just a color. It doesn’t sparkle, it doesn’t glow, it doesn’t taste like strawberries, it is just a single color of paint. That is it. Nothing else.
Uncommon paint means the RPW has two colors of paint, not grayscale, and like Normal/Common, NO SPECIAL POWER OR TRAIT. Please refer back to the Normal/Common explanation for more depth.
Rare paint means that the RPW’s paint is grayscale. It can be white, black, or any shade of gray. It is still considered rare (not uncommon) if it has two grayscale colors, such as if it has black and white paint. It will not be any color but grayscale, and it will have NO SPECIAL POWER OR TRAIT. Again, refer back to the Normal/Common explanation for more depth.
Special paint is SPECIAL because it is the only paint that can have special powers and traits! If the paint tastes like oranges or frosting, if it sparkles or glows, if it controls ice or fire, if it summons spirits, it is SPECIAL, even if the paint otherwise looks NORMAL. Special paint is also 3 or more colors of paint, even if it has no special power or trait other than that.
With a bit more indepth explanation out in the open, let me restate the rules or creating paint rarities and refresh everyone’s memory with this new knowledge in mind:
When making RPW's we need to have a limit on the types you make, you must make 4-5 Common Paints, before you can make an Uncommon one! You need to make at least 8-9 Common's and 1-2 Uncommon's before you can make a Rare. Now for Specials, you can only make a special one with permission and a good reason. Example: Special Day or Holiday, or reserve a number. PLEASE Follow this rule!
Please make sure you keep this new information in mind whenever you create a new RPW or you may be asked to change the paint so that it is no longer considered special, unless you’ve previously gotten permission, it’s a special day, or you have a special number reserved. Obviously any RPWs before this announcement aren’t going to change, but from now on please pay more attention to this detail, because I will be.
If you have any questions about what rarity your paint falls under, don't hesitate to PM me and ask!
The next order of business is on the topic of hair and manes. These are becoming rather ridiculously common traits recently, and line edits such as these are not meant to be as common as they are becoming.
From now on, artists, you may only make an RPW with hair or a mane once every 10 RPWs that YOU PERSONALLY make. Meaning, if you make an RPW with some hair, YOU have to make 10 RPWS without hair before you can create another. This number may be RAISED if there are still a ridiculous number of RPWs with hair after this has been in effect for a while. I will be personally watching this closely. Exceptions to this rule are customs and special day/event and special number RPWs.
This also means that OWNERS will NOT be allowed to ADD hair to RPWs that they win! Not without a special item, anyway. During events, such as special stores, raffles, or contests, you may be able to win/purchase a special ‘item’ with which you can add hair to one of your RPWs. Unless you have a special item allowing you to do so, however, adding hair or a mane from now on will not be allowed.
Hair/Manes can still be passed on to pups, but should be RARE if only one parent has hair/a mane.
Any RPWs that have been made with hair/manes previously will be allowed to keep it, this is in effect for any RPWs made from now on.
