[a story about the happy couple<3]
Inedia was curled outside of her quiet cave. She liked the cool, misty feeling it seemed to practically radiate with, and it gave her a sense of serenity. She had the option to live in the cave with the rest of her "family"--Kat and her ahzenai--but she preferred the silence in her own. However, she loved the drop-by's of her best friend Izres. Ichi would normally go and join her at night, needing to get away from the constant bickering and wrestling between Oelaer and the rest of the ahz he so loyally stuck with. The newest addition to Kat's huge cave was Jiali, a prideful and powerful golden male. He took supreme dominance over the rest of the them regardless of being a newcomer, and luckily no one ever seemed to try and step him down aside from Kat, who naturally loomed over his authority.
Inedia didn't appreciate having her space broken into or her peace of mind being stolen from her, but she also strove away from the depressing darkness and gloomy moods. Izres somehow admired this about her, and would turn up almost every day in her nearly secluded cave to "chill" with her, as the more modern people would call it. He was quiet as well, and enjoyed how lively and free Inedia was despite being completely calm and natural and everything. Izres himself was an ageless, hollowed creature, and Inedia's sweet personality and aliveness filled every gap in his heart and quiet soul. The light to his dark. The life to his, well... death? True, Izres wasn't dead, but if you have a better word for it, please share.
Izres approached Inedia's sweet-smelling home like he did whenever he had free time, and peered his head inside with a whisper of hello. The vibrant-colored ahz shifted out of the darkness, facing him boldly. "Izres? Come on in! I've been waiting all day for you, geez." she grinned, pushing her triangular face into his neck in a nuzzle Izres could never get enough of. "So, what's the plan for today?" she asked, watching his gray eyes flicker about, observing her in his admiring way. "Actually," he said, meeting her gaze, "I wanted to talk." he swept his tail around himself, eyes glistening wet. "Um, so... I was just thinking, today, about, well... us, and..." Izres' words become jagged and yumbled together. He had pieced this conversation in his head all day, and now that the moment had come where he was actually with Inedia, his mind and stomach were a jumbled mess.
Inedia looked thoughtfully at him, her nose pointed slightly out and her ears pricked, curious about what the dark ahz was trying to tell her. She rose, "What is it, Izres?" she said softly. Her light, feminine voice seemed to shake him from his cluttered state, and he cleared his throat, "I think I, uh, like you. Like... like like you." he said, only glancing up every moments, scared to meet her gaze. Inedia's eyes widened, but she didn't say anything because she knew, in her heart, she felt something for Izres passed their friendship. She never broke her look at him, waiting for the moments he would lift his head. Izres sighed, "I... I love you, Inedia. Ever since I laid eyes on you, I've felt more alive. You somehow complete me, and... I love you." he said finally, a sense of relief washing over him. He smiled at her, glowing. Inedia smiled too, "Izres," she said sweetly, pushing herself into him, relishing his warmth as he wrapped himself around her. She rested her head on his shoulder, whispering, "I love you too."
