In this case I would PM the artist directly, but it in my opinion it is best not to add any items to the bean until you win it.

There are no regular schedule for when we release bean. Most artists release them when they have time and motivation.

Do you have to wait a couple of months for them to age?

You have to wait at least 2 months before you can age your bean. You can wait longer than that, of course.

I feel like this is a stupid question, but I own a bean, Caspian. Would it be okay for me to never grow him into an adult? He doesn't have anything that prevents him from growing, I jus can't see him as an adult. Like, at all. ^^;
