Personality:

Loving and caring, she is the mother of the herd. Devoted to her children and the other fillys and foals of the herd. She is deemed a protector and as such is her job to protect them. She is courageous and awesome in battle but this is covered in her day to day light by a glow of happiness from within. Easy to befriend she is a gift to the whole herd. She could have been a healer but she chose the field of protection instead. Its thought this stemmed from the loss of her mother at an early age.

How do you say protector in horse, I couldn't tell you. My name is Lady Moon and I am a protector in my herd and if I wanted could be a healer. I didn't wanna be a heal however because though they help the injured they cannot stop a horse from being injured in the first place. That is my job and this is my story. A story of love and hardship, trust and betrayal. You'll now see it from my eyes and experience it from my pov...


I was born in the fourth hour of the forth day of the solicte moon. My markings where not as distinct then as they are now and in fact were almost invisible on my coat. At the time we didn't know I was special, gifted in ways that I could never be a normal member of this herd.

Personality: Very kind and outgoing. Nyssa loves to be around other animals of her type, but also loves dogs. She is outgoing, funny, and is always looking to make new friends. She is timid and spooky around humans, though.
Other: I will make a lot of art for her, and she will get a special spot on my character thread.

[It's obviously not done yet, but I'm slowly finishing it.]

Personality:
Desiree is a very elegant and graceful mare. Her every step is as flowing and as light as possible. She's sure to charm anyone she meets and has a calm vibe to her. It's is usually hard to irritate or anger her. She's very serious about most situations and doesn't take jokes very lightly, which does cause problems every now and then. Blood has a hard time just relaxing and lightening up to take a break; she thinks every minute of the day must be working towards the well being of the herd. She's a strong mare and she does fairly well in fights, not that she has to fight often. Her sister is Alezan; a somewhat jealous and challenging twin. Desiree will usually remind her who's boss in the herd though. She's a natural born leader and she can be rather stubborn. Most of the time, her choices are final. She has a strong will and has a very determined attitude. She is the only leader of the Shawnee Herd, as the lead stallion had just recently passed away. As a result of his death, she has come slightly more distant from her subjects. The other herd members treat her like a queen, and respect every decision she makes. At times the royalty treatment will get to her head, and she will take no less than the very best, but she tries keep her ego under control. She is wise, and every choice she makes is always in best interest for the majority of the herd. Sometimes she is a strict ruler and enforces the rules harshly, but it is all to keep the herd alive, or so she says. Des can have an insane and bloodthirsty side to her though. Those red markings aren't made of the traditional war paint the rest of the herd uses; it's the blood of her victims and prisoners of war. Sometimes she will go into an irreversible and blind rage for absolutely no reason at all, and they usually result in bloodshed. She has no control over these random fits of anger, but she tries her best to control them. Desiree usually won't remember what happened afterward, but if she does; the memories are painful.

I made my way towards my envious twin sister, with a light spring in my step. I stood up straight and tall while she lurked in the shadows. I had to make sure I looked superior to, as she has a tendency to venture too far with her bold actions and start fights. She knew I was approaching, and she kept her unforgiving mahogany brown eyes glaring at me. My pace quickened as I advanced towards her, and she started to walk forward as well. As the mare stepped out of the shadow of a dead tree, her shining chestnut coat shimmered in the light. Why was she so jealous of me? She was obviously the sibling that got all the good looks and beautiful features. I am a deep dark bay, while she gets to have a bright chestnut coat. My younger sister confuses me sometimes. We confronted each other, but I definitely stood taller than her. I looked down at my shorter twin with the same mahogany brown eyes as her's. She smirked and said harshly "So Blood, how does it feel to have killed your beloved mate? I bet you don't even care, being the bloodthirsty killer you really are. Those foolish horses who treat you like a queen are naive, they don't know what you truly are. A monster if nothing else." I was surprised to say the least at her words. The hurt like sharp knives, cutting into my flesh. Did she not have any respect and love left in her? My ears flew back, and I thought about teaching her yet another lesson, but what good would that accomplish? "Well miss Alezan, have you forgotten who I am? I am your lead mare, and older sister. You best treat me with respect lest you want another scar." She snorted and chuckled just the slightest bit. "I bet you didn't even love him, you merely wanted superiority over me and the whole herd. And when you loyal subjects started to worship you, you got rid of the stallion. Isn't that right, Blood?" I staggered backward, completely stunned. How could such cruel and nasty words come from such a beautiful and innocent looking mare? I sighed and whispered softly "I did love him, he meant the world to me." My voice rose as I added "It's not like I chose to kill my love! A demon took over me, it's hard to explain. You wouldn't understand Alezan, you never do! It pains me to even recall the memory....of what happened that night." That night was so vivid and horrifying, how could I ever forget?

Breed/Species: American Marten (they are the cutest little things)
Personality: She is a gentle and loving marten. She's always there to help her friends in need and stands up for them too. She is really quite shy and scared while with strangers and big audiences (one of the fears she must overcome is stagefright) but normally with her closet friends she an amazingly loud and fun friend to be around. Always the class joker and the one to make everyone burst into fits of laughter Alethea is well loved and practically has no enemies though. Her past still haunts her a little and often talks in her sleep. Alethea is quite lonely because she is an orphan.

History:
The family in which Alethea was born into loved her with all their heart and Alethea loved them back. When the hunters arrived in their valley the family of martens were always on the move and could never stay in one place for more than 3 days or the hunters and their dogs would hunt them down. One fateful day Alethea woke up to find that neither her mum or her dad was beside her. She felt very lonely and scared. She went around wandering for 2 lonely days when one day she heard her mum and dad's vioce calling out to her. She answered back and as she drew nearer to the vioces two gunshots rang out. The vioces were suddenly cut off. Even though Alethea was young and unexperianced she knew what that sound meant and ran for her dear life. She ran until she found a place where martens could work for money. She decided to stay there because she had no where else to turn to as she was now an orphan. At first she thought it wasn't bad but gradually as she stayed longer it became worse and worse. They treated like she was dirt and she felt even more lonier than before. So one night Alethea ran away for the second time in her life. She ran across plains and mountains until finally she found another kind hest of martens. Maybe not American martens but nonetheless martens. After deciding that they would let her stay with them until she became of age they all had a welcomng dinner and stayed up till very late. She lived with her adopted family in a little den but nightmares still haunt her. She covers them up by generally being very happy and bouncy.

A little first person extract:
I slowly let my eyelids drop as the sound of mother's singing soothed into deep sleep...
I woke up the next day with sunlight dazzling my eyes. It took me a while to adjust but when I did I noticed something that truly terrified me. My parents, both of them, had vanished into thin air. Slowly I rose, with my guard up just in case something attacked. I called out their names but all it did was echo around the trees with light struggling to push past the long shriveled arms.
