I saw that you had a question and since none of the thread mods are around I'll answer you question.

Each roleplay has its own set of rules on CS - you should read each one since some of them will allow you to jump in right away while others ones might have restrictions based off of grammar, making a character sheet, etc. Some roleplays might not be accepting new users, so reading the rules is the first step after reading what the roleplay is about. If there is a character sheet that you must fill out, then go and fill it out. Once you have filled it out, you will have to wait for the user who owns that particular roleplay to accept you. Once you are accepted you can join in.

There is a separate forum that is just meant for roleplaying since it is very, very popular here on CS. You will post in this section: viewforum.php?f=27

I'm going to assume that you have never roleplayed due to the nature of your question. There is really no wrong way to roleplay, but you should keep in mind that most members prefer you to write more than one sentence, have proper grammar, and have a purpose to your character's post. There are different sections to roleplaying, as well as genre's. Genre's is pretty easy to understand and the roleplaying forum easily separates it for you by separating human roleplays from animal, including whether realistic or fantasy. If you want to join a roleplay with cats have special powers you would go to Animal Roleplays (Fantasy). In addition, there are some roleplay sections for fandoms, basically meaning that these roleplaces take place in a TV show like Sherlock. Aside from genre's there are also a few sections that Advanced/Semi-Lit - these are for users who are really into roleplaying and prefer to roleplay with users who will write more than a few sentences usually ranging from 5-6 sentences per post, but can have very length posts. Then there are the invite only, 1 x 1 board which is meant for either private groups of users that don't want anyone from the outside posting, or only want to do one on one (basically only two users in total posting in that thread).

In addition, make sure to read the basic roleplay rules that are listing in each subsection.

Why should you be able to adopt a newbie?: I've been on this site since 2009 and I was also a member of the old Adopt-A-Newbie thread :3 before categories existed etc (: I like helping people and my goal on CS is to collect every horse ever released! I'm 17 pets away from that goal, which means I spend a lot of time on CS not doing much more than waiting for trades to be returned and I would like something else to do! ^.^

Since none of the thread mods are online, I'll answer your question

The Pound opens randomly - usually at least 2 to 3 times a week. The key is to continuously check the pound page to check to see when it might open - usually I know if it is going to open about a half a day before it actually does.

There are multiple ways to trade pets:

1. Go to the trade button that is towards the top of the page in the green bar. Then click on "Start Trade". Then type in the username you want to trade with.

2. On the forums, go to a thread, and go to the picture of the user, underneath it is a button that says "Trade with Me". Click on it.

3. Go to a user's profile and scroll down until you see the words "Trade with Me".


Then to trade, all you need to do is add pets or items to both sides of the trade. In addition, you can add a message and send either as a trade or suggestion. When you get the trade back, if not accepted nor cancelled, you can edit it and resend back.
