All right, before I put the poem, I'd like to give a little background. The two squirrels are based off of my two kittens, Candy and Cookie. I love them more than anything in the world. Even though the poem might not seem like it has anything to do with the squirrels, it's an extended metaphor poem, so it actually does.

Nectar

Dear sweet birdie,
you sit on my shoulder,
sing me a tune or two.

Love is your flower,
you take in its nectar,
singing your sweet flower.

Every day you sing,
the warmth of nectar
fills my heart with joy.
