What will I use her for:
She shall be a beloved character. I shall make her a special
page on my character site. I shall write about her with my
other crysts. I shall get her art with the other guardians and
write her stories and information.
Why do you want it:
I love her colors and design. The sort of celtic theme pattern
and the amazing accessories. I love the peacock feathers and
the colors of her fur. The fading pink color of the crystals
is also very fitting and gorgeous.

Personality:
She is a protective, caring and noble spirit. She was born to protect her species, the crystinalians, and to keep the peace among them, especially the four other guardians, the four guardians of the compass. She is the peace keeper. She is peaceful, but fierce and will stand her ground against all those who fight against her. He especially likes cubs and hopes for some of her own someday, though she must wait for the special someone. She likes children, peace, feathers, plants and those of her own species. She dislikes war, blood, death, hunters, those of her own kind that kill for no reason, being helpless, and having her heart broken.

History:
I opened my eyes to the bright light that had woken me. I had been asleep for a great amount of time and so not seeing light for so long made this light seem blinding. Vines had grown around my body while I had slept, making it difficult to move at all. My limbs were stiff from laying in one place and position for so long. I laid there and blinked for a long while until my eyes adjusted to the bright light, then I started to stand, breaking free of the vines and stretching my legs. Some of the vines stayed wrapped around me, but I left them on, for they felt comfortable and suited me quite nicely. I looked around as the sort of cave I was in. The cave was hidden under a massive tree, the walls all packed dirt and roots, the roof was the roots of the tree and the entrance was large so light could enter in.
I climbed out of the cave and looked around the forest. Much had changed since I had fallen asleep, and now I was awake, meaning only one thing, my species was in danger and the four were struggling. It seemed peaceful where I stood at this time, but I knew, elsewhere, my kind was struggling for survival. It was my time to fight, it was my time to protect, and I was going to do whatever I can to protect my kind from whatever threatened them.
I started to run, stretching my legs, feeling the wind in my fur once again. It felt good. I ran through the trees, dodging bushes and branches, leaping over logs, making my way to the edge of the forest. Then I heard a tree cry out. It's cry rand throughout the forest, making me stop in my tracks, just before a large cracking sound was heard and the tree fell. I knew that it was no natural fall, there was something about it that was different. I started to run again, but I shifted directions, heading towards the sound. I stopped at the top of a hill, high enough to see what had happened. I saw acres of land, all dirt and stumps, the trees gone. Humans and large beasts of metal were moving about, cutting and moving trees. I was stunned by this site and knew what was threatening my kind. The Humans...

I needed to gather the other guardians, so first I headed north. I saw the hunters and death that covered the land and found the lady of the north guardian. I headed to the south to find the great male of the south. I saw trees fall, like in the area in which I awoke and found him sabotaging the humans work. These two I am not as close with, though I do hope tot become closer to these two someday. Who knows.

I went to the west and found the peaceful lady of the west. She stole the supplies from the settlers and scared away their game. Making survival more difficult for them. She was so sweet and kind and hated the hunters who not only harmed her kind, but they harmed the natives there as well. I headed east then to find the great male of the east. I stopped in my tracks when I finally found him, chasing humans away and leading them wrong. The great antlers and a feathered crown upon his head and the red silk that hung from his tail in waves. I had never met a crystinalian like him and we soon fell in love.

We all fought side by side, and taught our kind how to survive. I can not tell you every detail, but we fought this battle for many years. Claws flying, battle call being roared, we fought and fought until we won against the humans. We had to return to hiding now that the world was safe again, but I now hide in waiting with the boy of the south, Serkan. Hopefully we shall show ourselves again someday, maybe when there is no more war or pain, but for now we hide in waiting. Waiting for us to be called, waiting for danger to rise again, waiting to protect our kind.

Other:
Thank you so very much for this chance!
Sorry for taking so long on my form.
And I hope my story is okay.
I so hope I get the chance to spoil this girl.

Take care of her well :3

Name: Prudence Keiji Zahina

Name Definitions:
Prudence - Cautious, Intelligent (English)
Keiji - Lead Cautiously (Japanese)
Zahina - Intelligent (Arabic)

Gender: Female

Pen: 1

Status: Single

Looking? Nope

What will you use it for? Why do you want her? I will definitely put her with the rest of my Crystinalians in my character thread, and would try to get some art of her. I think she's beautiful; her interesting fur pattern and bright blue crystal are simple, but gorgeous. I love the dark brown accents in her fur pattern, as well as the grey splotches of fur. I think her eyes tell a story of sadness, pain, and beauty; they are so expressive and lovely.

Theme Songs:
Great to be Different, Turn Around, and Roar

Special Thing(s): She has PPS Syndrome, a very rare illness that afflicted her at a young age. The results of this sickness are prevalent in her body and form to this day, and will probably always leave the scars that mar her beautiful body.

Personality: Prudence has always been quiet and shy. She's found that when she speaks up, it doesn't do any good - no one listens to her. Most Crystinalians will simply ignore her, shunning her from their tightly-knit groups for fear of the small female. "They fear what they don't know," she once stated quietly, staring at the ground. "And I happen to be something they don't know enough about. Because of this, they're not comfortable around me...so I'm left alone." In recent years, she has started speaking out, sometimes going to far with her insulting words. Who's to blame her, though, what with her not knowing what to state and what not to state, having been silent for most of her young life?

Prudence absolutely loves children. When around them, she doesn't have to worry about being judged or made fun of because she's different; she can simply let go and be herself. There will be the occasional kit who asks why she's different from the others, and she'll usually respond with something like, "Everyone is different, young one. Even you are different from your sisters or brothers, right? Well, I'm just a little bit more different than the average Crystinalian. That's all. And I think being different, while not being good, per say, can still be nice, at times." When asked to explain herself, Prudence will continue with, "I get made fun of a lot. I don't like that, and I can't change it. But there are some times in my life where I'm happy - when I'm around children. Because I'm so small and so much like them, they welcome me into their circles with open arms and claws. They give me the love I don't have in the community of Crysts I belong to. Unfortunately, their parents eventually turn them all against me...very few have actually stayed with me throughout the years. Those that do run the risk of getting made fun of as well, and not very many are willing to undergo that kind of humiliation."

Prudence is very intelligent. She often loves finding the perfect words to use to explain herself to others, when she has an opportunity to do so. "I absolutely love big words, like 'GREGARIOUS' or 'UBIQUITOUS.' It's so interesting how you can state certain things in different ways! 'Gregarious' simply means 'sociable,' and 'ubiquitous' simply means 'seen everywhere' or 'seeming to exist everywhere.' For instance, air is ubiquitous, and I happen to be quite gregarious. See? The perfect words for me are bigger, and more specific than the shorter words." By using large words, however, Prudence doesn't make it any easier on herself to make friends.

Prudence, while enjoying the company of others, understands that most other Crystinalians don't like her, and for this reason, she usually will distance herself from others. She doesn't like being around others who make fun of her, or bully her, as most of the Crysts in her pack do. Being forced to estrange herself from others, she isn't as social as she'd like to be. She only wishes to have friends, but sees that this is an impossibility.

Prudence doesn't like living such a life of sorrow and sadness - she's very easily depressed, and has difficulty getting out of these sad times. She'll often cry herself to sleep. But when she's not feeling down in the dumps, she's one of the happiest Crystinalians you could possibly meet. She has an excellent look on life when she's uplifted and feeling glad; she'll often sing praises of happiness when she's euphoric, and absolutely loves making music with nothing but her own mouth.

History:
I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath;
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess....
So I sat quietly, agreed politely,
I guess that I forgot I had a choice.
I let you push me past the breaking point.
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything.

You held me down, but I got up!
Already brushing off the dust;
You hear my voice, your hear that sound
Like thunder! Gonna shake the ground!

You held me down, but I got up!
Get ready 'cause I've had enough!
I see it all, I see it now....

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter!
Dancing through the fire,
'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roar!
Louder, louder than a lion,
'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roar!

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
You're gonna hear me roar!

Now I'm floating like a butterfly,
Stinging like a bee! I earned my stripes!

I went from zero, to my own hero!

You held me down, but I got up!
Already brushing off the dust;

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight!
Risin' up to the challenge of our rivals!
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night,
And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger!

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter!
Dancing through the fire,
'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roar!
Louder, louder than a lion,
'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roar!

Prudence sighed. Her entire body ached as a single tear rolled down her cheek. "Why do they hate me?" she murmured, curling into a ball away from the rest of the pack. She watched her scarred tail flick as she got situated into the most comfortable position. "Why was I even chosen? I don't understand why I've been placed here."
Tears rolled down her cheeks freely as she remembered what the eldest Cryst had told her before passing on...

Elder coughed. He looked out at the snow-covered ground, noting the flurry of flakes soaring down from the sky. "It's not a good day to be hunting," he murmured, watching as a group of Crysts left the pack to go out and get meat.
"Elder," the leader bowed, rising slowly. "I agree, it's not the best weather to be hunting in; but our wives and children need food. We cannot wait any longer."
"Fine. Go off and get prey."
"Thank you, Elder."
Elder simply nodded, observing as the young Cryst took the hunting party out into the thickly-falling snow. Soon, he couldn't even see their shadows along the ground. He knew they were gone...but they'd be back in no time.
For the rest of the day, he lazed around, sleeping for the majority of it, and at some points, watching the kits wrestle and roll around. He felt sorrow when he'd look at the kits, knowing that he'd never found a mate, and had never had kits of his own.
One day, Elder was sleeping towards the mouth of the cave. He was snoring peacefully, when a soft mewling woke him. He smiled, turning around to see the kits that were crying, preparing to comfort them as he always did. But he stopped, looking around the cave in confusion. Every single kit was asleep, curled up next to their mothers. The cubs were also asleep. "Must be naptime," he murmured, watching the parents who had no kits quietly pad about and speak in hushed voices. Elder tilted his head, still hearing the mewing. "Wonder where that's coming from," he said, looking towards the mouth of the cave as he stood up. He followed the sound until he was right at the edge of the cave he hadn't left for three years straight. He slowly placed a paw outside of it, and gently crunched through the snow. He followed his ears until he reached a small snowdrift. He softly placed a paw atop it, and the mewling suddenly stopped. He frowned, digging through the drift.
"Goodness," he murmured, clearing the snow away from a small kit, curled up and crying from the cold. "What are you doing out here?" he whispered, picking the kit up by the scruff of its neck. He took it back to the cave, placing it in the center as a group of Crysts gathered around. "It's a girl," he said, smiling. He looked up, a hard stony look on his face, the smile wiped completely from his features. "Okay, who here left this kit out in the cold? I want names!"
The leader padded forward, frowning. "Elder, forgive me for reminding you, but you're not as young as you once were, and your senses are no doubt leaving you one by one."
"Your point?"
"You can't smell as well."
"Obviously."
"This kit doesn't smell like our pack."
"It doesn't? Well, what does it smell like?"
"Not like us," murmured the queen standing next to her leader.
"Well, we aren't just going to leave it out in the cold! Right?"
"Yes, of course, Elder," the leader murmured quietly.
"Good. Now, who's going to feed her?"
"I will," a quiet queen spoke up. "I have no kits of my own - I'd love to take care of her."
"Thank you. What shall you name this kit?"
"I didn't find her, Elder. I am only going to be feeding her. You must name her. She is your responsibility."
"Yes, yes, of course..." he murmured, looking at the baby squirming and mewing below him. "Prudence shall be her name."
The leader frowned. "Quite an odd choice of name, Elder."
"Are you questioning my authority, young cat?"
"No, Sir! Of course not!"
"Good. Then it's decided. Prudence is my responsibility. Seeing as I am not a queen, I cannot produce milk. This queen shall take care of her for the time being." He flicked his tail to indicate the queen now standing to his left. "Agreed?"
Murmurs of agreement rose to Elder's ears, and he nodded in finality.

While Elder was alive, Prudence was taken care of well. He died a couple days after they found out that she had gotten a disease called PPS Syndrome. The disease wasn't deadly, but it did have negative side effects: she would stay the same size with the same appearance from the day she got the disease. In other words, she'd never change in appearance, even though she'd change in intelligence. She was cursed to always look like a cub.
"Papa?" Prudence called, padding over to where he lay. "You've been very tired lately. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, my dear."
"Oh, well, good!" Prudence smiled, jumping about for a moment before stopping. "Papa? The other Crysts call me mean names. They don't want to play with me anymore, because they think they'll get sick like me."
"Well, don't listen to them. You're not stupid, strange, or lame. You're my beautiful little girl, and I'll always love you."
"Thank you, Papa." Prudence blushed, giggling.
"You're welcome, Prudence."
"Papa? Why am I getting these strange grey marks in my fur?"
"The ones around your eyes have been there since you were a baby - but I have been noticing you've been getting more of them lately. Particularly the one on your tail."
"Yeah...they feel kind of...fuzzy."
"Fuzzy?"
"I can't feel them very well."
Scars, he thought, blinking slowly to hide his shock. The sickness is moving at a more advanced rate than I originally thought.
"Papa? What's wrong? Your eyes are all watery."
"I'm fine, sweetheart."
"But your eyes are watery. That's not normal."
He laughed. "And since when have I ever been normal?"
"Never!" she said, laughing with Elder.
"That's right. And you never have been either, my lovely."
"Thank you, Papa!"
"Now, you must promise me something, Prudence."
"Yes, Papa?"
"Promise me that no matter what, you'll try your hardest to be a good girl."
"Of course I'll promise you that! I always try to be good!"
"Yes, I know. I just wanted to hear you say it."
"I love you, Papa." She curled up next to her father, rubbing her head against his large paws.
Elder sighed, feeling weary as he looked down lovingly at the only daughter he'd ever known. "I love you, too."

Tears streamed down her cheeks as Prudence remembered that last conversation between her father and herself. "I miss you, Papa," she murmured, glancing at the wall of the cave, its grey rock nearly matching the scars on her body.
A nudging at the back of her neck made Prudence turn around, her brown eyes filled with sorrow as she glanced at the white kit. "Hello!" it squeaked, looking up at Prudence. "Wanna play?"
Prudence smiled. "Why not play with them?" she asked, flicking her tail to the rest of the kits, who were crowded in a corner, wrestling.
"I wanna play with you!"
"Why?"
"You look lonely."
"And?"
"You need a friend."
"You want a friend like me?"
"What's wrong with you?" the kit asked, tilting its tiny head in confusion. "I think you're very pretty. Why don't you play with anybody?"
"Because no one wants to play with me."
"I do!"
Prudence smiled. "Okay. What do you want to play?"
"Catch me if you can!" crowed the kit as it raced off, kicking up a small cloud of dust behind it.
Prudence chuckled, wiping the tears from her eyes. "I know I can." She raced off, catching up with the kit and licking on the head as she passed by, laughing in short, sharp, barks. "C'mon! I caught you; now you've got to catch me!"
"Get back here!" the kit squealed, racing after Prudence.
Suddenly, Prudence skidded to a halt, stopping less than a foot away from the angry-looking Cryst standing in front of her. Her eyes widened in shock as she bowed low to the ground. "Forgive me, Leadress. I didn't mean to run into you."
"You haven't touched me," she hissed, padding around Prudence and scooping up the kit into her mouth. She padded over to where the other kits were playing, placed the kit down, and went back to Prudence, who was sitting with her tail curled nervously around her paws. "Prudence," she said, nearly glaring at the Cryst. "I don't mean to interrogate, but, what exactly were you doing with my youngest daughter?"
"I was playing with her, at her request, Leadress." Prudence averted her gaze from the older Cryst, staring down as she kneaded her paws into the hard rock.
"I don't care if she BEGS you to play with her; you don't ever do so again. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Leadress."
"And that goes for the other kits as well!"
Prudence frowned. Without warning, she was on her paws, snarling. "You can't tell me I can't play with the other kits!" she hissed, her ears flat against her skull and her tail puffed up to twice its size. "I may be smaller than you, but I'm only three years younger! And the only reason you have the slightest amount of power over me is because of your mate! You're not even fit to be a leader, let alone be addressed as such!"
Leadress growled. "How DARE you?! You dare to insult a queen?"
"I dare to insult any Cryst who does something obviously wrong and deserving of an insult!"
A male Crystinalian suddenly stepped in between the two females. "Break it up, you two!" he hissed, glaring at both cats. "Leadress, you know better than this! Just let her play with the kits already! You may not like her, and yes, some of the cats in this pack aren't fond of her either; but the children adore her. She's done no harm in the past, and she won't do any harm in the future. If she DOES," he added, angrily looking over at Prudence, "she'll have me to deal with."
Leadress bowed quickly, haughtily turning around and padding off.
The male cat turned to Prudence after watching his mate pad off. "Prudence, forgive me for intruding, but I didn't want my wife to do anything to harm you. One false move from either her or me and this pack would be better off dead."
"I understand," she murmured.
"Now, you were in the wrong, Prudence, for out rightly attacking my wife. Can't say I'm pleased with you at the moment."
"She started it!" Prudence hissed, a look of pure hatred written plainly on her face. "She's the one who's always picking at me, telling me I'm 'worthless' and 'stupid.' Well, NO MORE!" she snarled, standing up and staring daggers at the queen. "I won't take it from anyone anymore. I'm NOT worthless, and I'm not stupid! I'm more intelligent than SHE is, anyway!"
The leader swiped a paw at Prudence.
She ducked it, hissing in response.
He pinned her to the ground, breathing heavily. "Stop it! I will allow you to assert yourself, but to shamelessly insult cats who may or may not deserve it is uncalled for!"
She squirmed, trying to free her arms from the heavy weight upon them. "Let me up!" she yowled.
"Not until you calm down!"

Forty minutes later, Prudence had sufficiently calmed down to speak once again to Leader. "I'm sorry. I need to work on my self control."
"That you do," he murmured, chuckling as he sat across from her.
"What did you want to speak with me about?"
"My wife was in the wrong telling you that you couldn't play with the other kits. However, she has every right to express herself, just like you have every right to express yourself. NEITHER of you are to hurt another in these expressions, but you may feel free to state anything you wish, as long as it's not purposefully malicious."
"Then I expect you to have the same standards for your wife."
"I do, and I'll be sure to tell her after our conversation."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. But you didn't let me finish. You can play with the other kits unless their mothers state otherwise. You are NOT to play with our kit, due to my wife's opinion of you, which I'm sure you already know."
Prudence narrowed her eyes. "Yes."
"Do you understand my rules?"
"Yes."
"Don't you have anything else to say?"
"Why bother?" she asked, flicking her tail in an aggravated manner. "You're the leader. You can just state that Crysts aren't to speak to me, and POOF! it happens."
"Why would I do that? You're a nice enough cat, even though you do have a bit of a temper."
"I didn't always."
"I know. Perhaps that's why I'm so lenient with you."
"You don't seem to be..."
"If any other cat did what you did, I'd probably kick them out of the pack for good. I have a reputation to uphold."
"So you'd sacrifice another cat's reputation just to keep yours safe?!" she hissed, disbelief in her voice.
"In certain circumstances, yes."
"Why didn't you do it to me, than? It couldn't just be because I wasn't once this way."
"No, that's only part of the reason. Prudence, I loved your father. He was like a father to me, in some ways. He always had a word of advice, and never failed to follow through on what he said he'd do. He was...my hero. When he died, it wasn't just hard on you."
"Hmph," Prudence muttered, still seething from Leader's stinging previous comment.
"I mean it!" Leader continued, emotion filling his voice. "When he died, I felt so bad for you...but being the leader, I couldn't show favoritism. I couldn't adopt you, as I'd planned on doing. I still wanted my own children, but I wanted to help you as well...and I couldn't have both."
"So you chose to have children instead of choosing me."
"Don't say it like it's a bad thing!"
"It is for me."
Leader sighed. "My wife didn't like you from the beginning. She'd call you a 'freak of nature,' because you weren't born here, in the pack. She also stated that it was strange that we never found your parents."
"I never heard her call me that."
"I shushed her whenever she'd mention it. Slowly she began stuffing those negative thoughts within her, and sometimes she'd slip up and insult someone, and then I'd have a problem on my paws." He shrugged. "I can't change her anymore than she can change me. I can't make her do something she doesn't want to do."
"You're still higher up than her," Prudence stated quietly. "You could tell her to buzz off, if you wanted to."
"I could, yes. But that would mean our kit would grow up with a broken family."
"Better than no family at all."

Two wrongs never made a right.
Some roads never find the light.
If it's broken, you should fix it.
There's no sense in wasting time.
Everybody makes mistakes.

Nobody's too far away;
Love will leave the 99
For the one who got away!

For every wandering soul,
The night is darkest
Just before the dawn!

Sometimes you need to stop and go back
Just to carry on!

There's no need to feel defeated,
So don't let it get you down!
Sometimes the only way to get home
Is to turn around!

So if you're frozen in the cold,
And you got nowhere to go;
You're unsure,
And it's unclear,
How you got here on this road...

There's no need to be afraid,
Help is just one breath away!
Swallow your pride,
Put fear aside,

And call out Jesus' name!

The night is darkest
Just before the dawn!

Sometimes you need to stop and go back
Just to carry on!

There's no need to feel defeated,
So don't let it get you down!
Sometimes the only way to get home
Is to turn around!

~ "Turn Around" by Anthem Lights

The kits soon began to fall in love with Prudence. Every day she'd come over to their group and play with them, showing them new fighting moves, like how to bowl another kit over without too much pain to either kit. They would play Catch Me If You Can for hours, and when they weren't playing that, they played Hide And Seek, which wasn't quite as fun as any of them expected.
One day, when Prudence walked over to the group of kits, they had gathered into a circle, their backs to her. When they saw her approaching, they lowered their voices.
She smirked. "Well, well, well. They're trying to keep secrets from you, Prudence," she murmured to herself, almost laughing at the kits as they lowered their voices further.
Leader's kit turned and looked right up at her.
The smile was quickly replaced by fear as she started backing up quickly. "Your mother will have my tail if I don't get away from you!"
"Wait! I'm not going to ask you play with me!"
Prudence halted. "Well, that's good...but what do you want?"
"The group has chosen me to give you the good news!"
"Oh. Well, I suppose your parents can't get after me for just listening to you relay a message....Sure, go ahead and tell me."
"We've decided to give you your own special name!"
Prudence chuckled. "I already have a name!"
"It's a nickname."
"Oh, well, I suppose that's fine."
"All of us kits will call you it, and when we get older and have kits of our own, we'll tell them about it."
"All right, then." Prudence smiled, almost reaching out and patting the young kit on the head before remembering what consequences she'd receive in return for performing the action. She hastily plucked her paw back and set it firmly on the ground.
"We've decided to call you 'Zahina,' which means 'Intelligent.'"
Prudence tilted her head. "Why did you decide to call me that?"
"Because you're so smart!" another kit stepped forward. "We want to learn from you!"
"Be our teacher, Prudence?" Leader's kit mewed. "Please?"
Prudence blinked. "I'd love to."
"Yay!" the kits erupted into happy mewing.
"But," Prudence continued, now pacing back and forth, "I'd have to get permission from all of your parents before I do so. What would you like me to teach you?"
"Everything," murmured a wide-eyed grey kitten with dark blue eyes. "We want to know everything you know."
Prudence smiled. "It will take along time to learn that much."
"We've got our whole lives," the grey kit spoke again, smiling as his eyes sparkled.
"That you do," Prudence replied, smiling in return.

The next day, Prudence set off with every kit following her. She was going to ask each parent whether or not they'd be fine with her teaching their kits. The first fifteen sets of parents were fine with it, and then she got to number sixteen: the mother and father of the grey kit with sparkling dark blue eyes. "Greetings, Ma'am and Sir." She bowed in respect, quickly sitting and looking them in the eyes. "I am here to ask your permission to teach your youngest son things that he will need to know when he grows up."
"Such as?" the father said quietly, anger just slightly seeping into his voice.
"Things like counting, communicating successfully with those around him, hunting, and fighting."
"Why can't we teach him those things ourselves?"
"Oh, I'm sure you're both equally equipped to teach your son these things; please don't think I'm trying to insult you."
Glares met her eyes.
She gulped. "While you both are very well equipped to teach your son these things, there is always a great advantage to seeing how others do things. Perhaps he'll choose to fight like you, Ma'am, but he'll choose to speak like you, Sir. And perhaps he'll choose to hunt like me. It's all up to your son, really. And if you're still concerned with how I'll be teaching, feel free to sit through a couple classes yourselves. I welcome any cat of any age to sit in and learn from what I'll be teaching."
The father nodded, a smile on his face. "I'm fine with that, and you'll see me at the first meeting with my son."
"You aren't going," the mother spoke up, an angry glint in her hard, ice-colored eyes.
"I think we should check this out, just to be safe. Once I go, I can make a proper analysis and figure out if Tim should attend or not."
"Tim isn't going, and neither are you!"
"So you're going to judge her class before you even go to it? That's not a proper judgement!"
"I can do what I like!"
"So can I, and I'm taking Tim to that class!"
"No, you aren't!"
Prudence slowly backed away from the bickering couple, motioning for Timmy to come closer. "Tim, listen...your parents aren't happy right now. Just do whatever they say."
"But...I wanted to go to your class!" Tears welled up in the young Crysts' eyes.
Prudence sighed. "I know, Sweetie Pie. But...you're going to have to live with your parents for a long time after this. You have to do what they say."
"Okay," the young Cryst said, turning around and padding back to his parents, tail and ears drooping.

"Last family to visit tonight," Prudence muttered, looking down at the tired kit padding beside her. She sighed, closing her eyes in apprehension. She would not enjoy this visit.
"Greetings," she said, looking up at Leader and Leadress, both grooming each other as she brought their youngest kit home. "I am here to ask your permission to teach your youngest kit things that it things like counting, communicating successfully with those around it, hunting, and fighting. While you both are very well equipped to teach your kit these things, there is always a great advantage to seeing how others do things. And if you're still concerned with how I'll be teaching, feel free to sit through a couple classes yourselves. I welcome any cat of any age to sit in and learn from what I'll be teaching."
Leadress's eyes were narrowed. Her hackles rose slightly as she glared at Prudence. "You think I'll willingly let my baby go with you?! You, you, you...you FREAK!"
Prudence blinked, drawing a paw over her face to wipe the spittle off of her face. "Please, let's keep this civilized and professional, shall we? I don't like you, you don't like me - this is true. However, we don't need to let that get in the way of your kit's education."
"I won't let her go. I won't give up my baby to you."
"You won't be giving her up. You'll just not see her for a couple hours more a day, and she'll actually be learning something in that time other than wrestling with the other kits and getting injured."
"I'm not letting her go with you!"
"Why?!" Prudence snapped, her eyes narrowing into tiny slits. "What is it about me that you hate so much? Why don't you think I'm a responsible enough cat to take care of your child? Have I EVER given you reason to think otherwise?"
"You're too different!"
"Just because I'm different doesn't give you the right to hate me!"
"I don't want my daughter around you!"
"Why? 'Cause you're worried that I'll actually instill some morals into her, like not hating those who are different from you but hating those who do something horrible?!"
"No, I've given her plenty of reasons to hate those who are different! Right, Sweetie?" she said, turning to her child and nodding for her to speak.
The kit stumbled over her words for a couple minutes before squeaking, "Not really, Mama. You just said they were different, and that was bad."
"Why, I know I gave you more reasons than that!"
"I can't remember any, Mama. Sorry."
Prudence almost smirked at Leadress. "Looks like she hasn't taken very well to your lessons."
"Yeah?! And what about YOUR lessons?! I'd guess she remembers even fewer of them!"
Prudence looked down at the kit, smiling gently. "Go on then, Kid. Tell your mommy what you learned today."
"I learned that it is a great idea to follow your parents' rules, even if they don't make sense. They're smarter than you, so you should respect what they tell you, even if you don't like it."
Leadress blinked twice. "And how did you learn that?"
"Prudence told the group that after dropping off Timmy. His parents were fighting, and he didn't know which one to listen to. Prudence told him what I just told you and some other stuff that I can't remember."
Prudence stepped forward. "I told him that even though his mommy and daddy fight, it doesn't mean they hate each other, and it certainly doesn't mean they hate him. It's NEVER his fault that they're fighting, and it's just best to leave them alone until they wind down. Then, when they can talk to him rationally, he can decide what to do about whatever they present to him; but until that point, worrying about what they're going to tell him is pointless."
Leadress snarled. "Sure, you've got knowledge on that. But I still don't think you're qualified to teach my daughter anything!"
"Then sit in on one of the classes. If you do that, and afterwards you want to take her out of the class, that's your decision, and your kit will honor that."
"Will YOU honor that?"
"I won't teach her if you don't want me to."
Silence and stunned faces met hers. Prudence bowed quickly, and trotted off. Before leaving completely, she turned around and shouted back, "It's up to you to decide! Come see me after our first class meeting to tell me your decision!"

Two weeks later, Prudence was standing in front of a group of 14 kits, including Leadress's. Timmy was in the front row, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Okay class," Prudence said, kneading her paws into the ground, "class is over for today. Make sure to bring a ball of moss with you to the next meeting, as well as a mouthful of snow."
The kits all raced off in opposite directions, except for Leadress's kit. Timmy scooted in front of her, and grabbed hold of Prudence's leg. "Thank you so much for letting me come to class today!" he squealed, happy tears rolling down his cheeks. "My daddy said he'd take me every day if he had to! Mommy's not so happy about it, but when she sees how good I'm getting at fighting, I'm sure she'll change her mind!"
Prudence smiled as she stroked the top of his head gently with her paw. "You're welcome, Timmy. I'm glad you enjoyed class."
With one final squeeze, Timmy let go and raced off to the back of the corridor, where his father was sitting. He glanced up at Prudence and nodded once, closing his eyes in thanks.
Prudence smiled and nodded back, watching as he and Timmy set off towards the mouth of the small cave, getting ready to make their way through the underground tunnels which lead back to the main cave where the rest of the pack resided.
Leadress stared stonily at Prudence as she grabbed the twigs in her mouth, putting them away into the small hole she'd dug through the dirt floor.
Prudence smiled as she padded over. "Your kit is doing superbly in this class. She's my best student right now, performing academically, anyways. Timmy is the most attentive - but can you blame him? He loves learning almost as much as he loves fighting."
"I don't care about the other kits. You say Essy is doing well?"
"Top of my class."
"Good."
"Is that all you wanted to speak with me about? I know your it is anxious to get home."
"You can't possibly be anxious to get home," Leadress sniffed rudely. "You don't have one."
Prudence sighed, rolling her eyes when Leadress looked away. "I live here, actually, in this classroom."
"All by yourself."
"Yes, Ma'am. All by myself."
"It must get cold in here, at nights."
"I don't feel it. I've got thick fur."
"Well, let's just hope that my daughter has a better social life than you. Good day, Prudence."
"Good day, Leadress."
Essay ran over and leapt upon Prudence's head, scrambling for purchase on her skull. "Oops!" she shrieked, sliding down Prudence's back and landing in a heap at her tail, batting at it as if it were a mouse.
Prudence smiled, lifting her tail out of Essay's reach. "Go on home, now, Essay. Class is over. I'm sure you want to go home and tell your mommy all you learned today, right?"
"Mommy was here. She knows what I learned today. I want to go and tell Daddy!"
"You go and do that, than."
"Okay! Bye, Prudence!"
"Goodbye, Essay."

That night, when every Cryst had left her chamber, Prudence looked around, admiring the rock walls and ceiling, how it spiraled up into a high peak. She appreciated the fact that her paws no longer hurt from harsh rock floors - she had a dirt one instead. And while the snow blew in sometimes through the opening to the corridor, she didn't mind one bit.
She curled up into a ball, smiling as she smelled a different scent on the earth. "Papa," she murmured. "I found where you used to sleep, and turned it into a place of education. I hope you're proud of me, Papa...because I am of you."

It was a dark day when I lost my faith;
I wasn't the pony I thought I'd be.
And it seemed that no one could relate...
There was nothing left for me to see.

So, I took a walk to the edge of the town
And thought of
leaving it all behind,
When I saw a little letter fall right out of the sky
As a grey mare hovered way up high.

I thought I was crazy when I saw her wave,
And then simply fly away...
So, I opened the letter and looked inside,
And what was written
made my day...

It said:
Isn't it great to be different?
Isn't it wonderful to be exactly who you are?
When you learn to start accepting yourself,
You'll become a shining star!

To this day the writing on that page
Is mottled by the
tears I shed,
'Cause at that moment
something inside me changed
And a bright new path I lead.

I ran back home and I picked up my old guitar,
And I started strumming these chords...

And I sang her words along with this song,
And I heard someone sing along...

And we sang:
Isn't it great to be different?
Isn't it wonderful to be exactly who you are?
When you learn to start accepting yourself,
You'll become a shining star!

I turned around and I saw her at my door,
That cute grey mare with the wall-eyed stare.
She said, "I've heard you play and sing before,
And I heard a sadness I could not bear.
I just wanted to tell you that
the hardest thing I've faced
Wasn't the teasing or the pain.
It was convincing myself I wasn't stupid, strange, or lame...
And helping others do the same!"

These last few years flew by just like a blur,
I'm now exactly where I should be.
And I know I owe it all to her -

The beautiful mare who believed in me!

Isn't it great to be different?
Isn't it wonderful to be exactly who you are?
When you learn to start accepting yourself,
You'll become a shining star!

You'll become a shining star!

Isn't it wonderful?

You'll become a shining star!

Isn't it great when you learn to love just who you are?

Name:
This has always been the hardest question for me. I want my pets to love their name but coming up with the perfect name is tricky, alot of people come up with names in various ways. There are the people who use random name generator or sometimes Google translate and choose different languages to see what comes up, I am sure there are many other ways but these are the two I commonly use. Still it's extremely hard I want a name that will suit the character, it's style, it's personality it's look, are all major details that effect the naming process

Name: Lactea, Milky Way in latin
Pen: 3
What will you use it for: to breed and create wonderful babies and to maybe be a character of mine (giving all credit to this thread, and if the owner allow is)
Why do you want it: well, she's just so pretty. I'm really into astronomy, and I can name every constellation in the night sky. She reminds me of galaxies, so I find her super interesting
Personality: Lactea is not your average female. She is actually super into fighting and battle strategies. She is your perfect tomboy.
History: Her history isn't that sad. She was raised by her parents, had a few adventures along the way as a cub, a snow here she is (I'm not really into the whole sob story I'm-an-orphan-and-I've-gone-through-so-many-horrible-things-let-me-sit-here-for-an-hour-and-tell-you kind of stuff)
