Name:
Darkness Falls On This Angel
Character Thread:
I have one but it needs a HUGE revamp. So would a dA be ok?
Breed/Species:
Brumby Arabian cross
Gender:
Male, Stallion.
Age:
3 3/4
Personality:
Arc is a brave stallion who likes to get his way. He is very smart aswell. He likes to gaze up at the stars at night and wonder what the world would be like if he had stayed at the Stud farm. He also has a soft spot for cats.
History:
His Sire, Black Knight, broke into an Arabian stud in the Victorian Alps. His Dam was the prized mare in the stud. When the owners found out she was in foal to a black feral from the bush, they sent a search party to get him. They only knew about the pregnancy because they tried to get her in foal to another stallion on the farm, a White called Last Hope and that they saw a dark horse in the area a few weeks before. 10 months later little Arc was born. He was smaller than all the other foals born that year. And he was the only black one. It was also very hard to see the markings, as they were almost black. The owners of the stud decided to keep him, but so he couldn't breed to the other mares when he was older, they were going to geld him. He was 2 years old when the time came. Fortunately for him, his mother, Angel In Waiting, took off with Arc into the bush. So he was never gelded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
As he grew older the markings on his body became more visible. The middle-aged mare and her son ran across the country side, picking up any horses that came their way. As a result of that, Arc became an Alpha. And he was only 3 1/2. Still too young to Sire any foals. The last time anyone had seen Arc he was taking off with one of the best Gymkhana mares in the district, Divine, Buckskin with a butterfly on her rump. He galloped down to the dam where Divine was peacefully grazing, bite her on the upper shoulder and beckoned her to follow. She refused, kicking him, causing some blood. He instantly fell in love. Then the pain finally reached his brain, and he ran off squealing. A week passed and Arc went back to get Divine. She accepted his plead only because he promised to break Ivory, Divine mother, out of captivity.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
3 months passed peacefully for the herd. It was a fine Tuesday when the mares started to get flighty. Arc knew the time had come, he was afraid of this day. The bay charged up the hill and ran straight for Divine. Being Divine she let out a loud squeal and flung her hind legs up, hitting the rival right in the chest.
How he got the iron braclet on his upper right foreleg:
During a hot summers night, Arc and his herd of 10, rested near a small brook. Angel came over to the place Arc had settled and told him something that made him shudder. "Really mother? If what your saying is true, you'll have to lead the herd to safety." Angel trotted down to the rest of the mares and quietly murmured something. They all got up in a hurry and galloped as fast as they could up to the snow. Arc was all alone again. Barking sounded from the distance. It grow louder and louder as if it were getting closer. Even though Arc was afraid, he stood still, and waited. He did't have to wait log though, as the dogs came right up to the bank on the other side of the brook. Following the dogs came 10 horse men on thier light, fast and slim stock horses. Horses like this were only bred for hunting one thing, Brumbies.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Sharpe ropes hurt the folds of skin they were rapped around. Arc was drained of all his energy after the capture. Blood socked into the hair on his legs from where the dogs had grabbed him and pulled him down. 5 horse men behind, 5 in front. No way of escaping. Arc could see the moon and wondered if his mother was alright. Had she lead the herd to safety? Or was he going to meet them at his destination? Question swamped his sore head like flies on a dead snake.
Other:
One of my other horse chars is expecting a foal from a black stallion, and I would love it if Arc could be the lucky father.
