I'm just going to try, although I know I'll never win. I just like making up background stories. If I don't win (Which is a 99% since there are so many other users who deserve her.), I'll take my background story and just change it to fit another character of mine. Pet's ID Tag: 19.
Name You'd Choose for It: Liuka.
Gender: Female.
Reason You Want It: Her design is one of a kind, and black is one of my favorite colors. I love the piercings and the bandanna completes the look. Also, the eye design is gorgeous.
History/Background/Other: I shivered in my cage. I heard a howl in the other room, cutting off..... I shivered again. "Yo! Skeleton brain!" Another pup called to me. "There goes your mother! Bet she doesn't miss you! Hah!" I stood up, snarling, the fur on my neck standing up. "Hey! I didn't mean it like....Wah!" the pup yelped as I lunged at him. A few minutes later, two pups were pulling me back and the other pup was bruised, bloody, and had bits of fur missing. "Geez, Skeleton! Could you TRY to control your temper?" He asked, brushing himself off. I growled but when the owner walked in we all walked away. "What have we here?" The owner said, picking up the bruised puppy. "More work of... Liuka?" He said my name like it was the dirtiest word on the planet. Then the owner's phone rang and he dropped the puppy, who lost their breath as they hit the table. "To who do I owe this pleasure?" the owner said, into the phone, then his face lit up, which made him look like a clown, which almost made me laugh. "Ah, Serge! Wonderful timing....Yes I know, that old dog has no will left to have any more puppies, or live for that matter, so I got rid of her." That was my mother they were talking about. So the puppy wasn't lying. That had been the one dog in the world I could count on and she was ..... gone? I gave a strangled yelp, and the owner glared at me and some dogs shot me looks of sympathy. "Sorry about that yelp, one of those nasty puppies belonging to that old hag of a dog....What?....Well I........Ok, call in later." He finally hung up and went and came back with a stick. I knew that stick.
Uh oh, I'm gonna get it. I thought. He picked me up by the scruff on the back of my neck. "YOU, my bear, will be coming with me." I yelped. He carried me to a room with cages and a window in front. I got put into a tiny cage. "Here's your new home!" he said cheerfully. "You will stay here until you get adopted, or die, because for one, you have anger problems and you look like a graveyard." He said, looking me over like I was something he wasn't going to buy at a ugly second-hand store. I whimpered. I don't look like a graveyard, I look like my mother. I miss her so badly. How can you miss dogs you barely knew? I laid down, and the owner walked away, chatting into his cellphone. The tears I was holding back, flowed out as I thought about my mother.
Flashback to a few months ago...."Mommy, are you ok?" I asked walking up to her, licking her milk off my nose. I was the smallest of all them, and her favorite. "No, honey." She was laying down, while all my brother and sister were trying to get some milk. "Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked. She looked pale and weak. You could see her ribs. "No..." She said, sighing a little. "I know! I'll stop drinking your milk ad go straight to dry food!" I said, my face growing happy. "You would do that...for me?" she asked, stunned. "Of course, mommy, your my mommy!" I said, nuzzling her. "Thank you Liuka...." She said, licking the fur on my head. I was able to switch, and at first she seemed to get better. Then, he forced her to have more puppies. In case you haven't figured out where I live right now, I live in one of the most horrible, cruelest, meanest places on earth. A puppy mill. A few weeks after her litter of puppies, two days before she died, she said to me, "Liuka, I love you. I will always love you, and if your father was here, he'd be so proud of you." "Who's my father?" I asked. A shadow crossed over her face when I said that. "You'll find out..." She said darkly. "Why do you hate him, mommy?" I asked. "Because he wouldn't be better at love you anymore than he loved me." she answered in the same voice. "Did he know me? As a pup, I mean." "No. And I'm not sorry about that. You'll thank me later." She said crossly. "Remember what I told you. I love you." Then she got chained to a rope and got dragged off. She was away most of the time, being forced to have puppies, or caring for the younger ones.
Back to the present...I laid there, in my tiny box of a cage, tears rolling down my cheeks, staring out the window.
At least she's in a better place.... I thought, drifting off to sleep. The next morning, I woke up. The birds were chirping outside, and the sun was shining. I hated it. Things shouldn't look beautiful. My mother was gone. I got up and shook myself off. I saw my reflection in my bowl of water. I looked like a mess. My hair was ruffled, bandanna crinkles, and my fur was all messed up. Great. I heard a song on the radio in the corner of the shop as I drank from the bowl.
"My wish..for you...is that this life becomes all that you want it to, your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, you never need to carry more more than you can hold, and while your out there gettin' where your gettin' too, I hope you know somebody loves you...and wants the same things to, yeah this, is my wish.... Hm. I thought.
That's a pretty good song. I started prancing around in my cage to the song. I got up on my hind legs and waved my paws in the air, and the fell over. I laughed to myself as I got up. "Mommy, look! A dancing doggy!" A little girl was crouched at the window peering in on my cage. I started "dancing" again. She laughed and clapped her hands. She has auburn hair that looked pretty tangled, that fell past her shoulders, with blue eyes, pale skin, and freckles. She was wearing a fancy dress, with fancy shoes. Her mother walked up, wand she looked a lot like her daughter, but older, and was wearing a black dress with high heels. She took one look at me, and said "Oh, no honey. You don't want that one. It's ugly. Let's get that one instead." She pointed at the dog in the cage next to me. Oh great. It was a beautiful golden retriever with silky fur that matched the girl's hair. She had warm brown eyes, and when the woman pointed at her, she barked and chased her tail around.
Guess there goes my chance to get adopted. I said, as I looked down, my tail going down too.
Why'd I even think for a minute that she'd pick me? But, the little girl crossed her arms and said "I want the dancing doggy. That one's boring." "No honey, were getting you that one." The woman said, pointing again the other puppy. "No." The little girl said stubbornly. "Honey..." The woman's voice rose higher, on the edge of anger. "Fine. I get the dancing doggy. You get the boring one. Problem solved. Besides, dancing doggy needs company." The little girl pushed open the door with out waiting for a response. Her mother followed her reluctantly. I looked around the store, noticing my surroundings for the first time. I was in a small room, with white walls, and white tile floor. My cage was black, with metal bars blocking it from the back. The front was on the window. It was about the size of a small box. There was water in a bowl to one side, a pile of paper in the corner, which I supposed was my "bathroom", a food dish on the other side, that was empty. The rest of the cages looked like mine. Outside the store, there was a sign on the window, that said "Pet Shop!" Too cheerful. Inside there was desk shoved up against a corner with the owner sitting in a chair, typing on a laptop. There were shelves stacked with collars, food, and such. In the center there was a table with pictures of dogs for sale and stuff on it. The little girl marched up to the front desk and demanded, "I want that puppy." The owner looked down at her as if she were a fly he could not swat, then looked up and saw her mother, and his face brightened. "Ah, Katy! What are you here for!" He said, getting up. "Hello, Michel. Pleasure to see you, as always." She said, hugging him, and kissing him on the cheek. I almost threw up. The little girl gagged. "As my daughter pointed out, we are here for that...dog. And the cute little puppy." "Which dog?" The owner asked, looking at everybody but me. He was in for a shock. "The one that has the bandanna, and skeleton markings." The woman, named Katy said, looking at me like I was a germ. The owner's eyes bulged out, and the little girl coughed to cover up a laugh, as did I. "I'm not sure you want THAT one." The owner said, in a insulting disbelieving voice. "OF course we want her, stupid." The little girl said, marching up to my cage, opening the bar door, and taking me out. I licked her face, and she laughed. The woman went over to the golden retriever's cage and took her out, but held her away from herself. The little girl, with me in her arms, walked over to the desk and plopped a huge wad of money on the desk. She then went over to one of the shelves, and at the same time, a man walked in. He was in a butler uniform of some sort, and as she picked stuff out, he took it, and went back outside, then came back in. I guessed he was putting things in the car. The woman pointed to the money on the desk and said, "That's for everything. Feel free to give your self a hundred dollar tip." The owner just stood there with his mouth open, staring at me. I stuck my tounge out at him as the girl walked out with the woman behind her. When I saw my ride to my new house, my mouth fell open. A limo!!!!! I couldn't believe it!
WIP I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
