i think this species would take off more if any color and patterns were allowed, thats how all the successful adopts work.

That may be so.
But there are many gorgeous birds with amazing color schemes.
Each species needs a trait, and since I feel that there is an amazing array of birds, I think it gives enough variation.
Plus, I would like to work more with natural colors c:
