If you pay an artist for some art, and they get the markings wrong, even though its a clear ref, do you mention it or just leave it? Three things are wrong on the piece

If it is one thing, it's a small detail an I don't intend to use the art as an offical ref, I don't worry about it. The dog in my signature, Skyler, is missing his crescent moon marking on his face -shrug- doesn't really bother me. Now if someone got colors wrong... or it was a couple of things. I'd be super polite x.x but would be like "would you mind... fixing these two or three tiiiiiiny things." I have even asked for corrections on free art! If it's obvious they missed something or messed up :0 I just let them know, politely. politely.

It has to be major. Like one person made all four paws on my char red when one was yellow(which is important to the story) so I asked them to change that. But if its come thing little then I leave it

I've made my own fursona's markings wrong. so I'm picky when it comes to art of my little girl. butttt I am slow when it comes to noticing those things, so it'll take me awhile to notice if a markings wrong. at that point I hate to pm them and ask them to change it. xD but yes, I'd recommend you do it if it bugs you that his/her markings are wrong. cx

I keep mine in my folders. I only store my fursona on a website. >w< Which I know storing so much art and stuff is not a good idea, considering my laptop is going downhill fast.. but you know.

sta.sh or chara hub. i hate weebly now, to much work, and all the drop down windows. charahub i have also had issues with. so currently sta.sh, i know i can access my stuff faster. though for art, i will use photobucket.

I use to be picky, but after so many people messing up markings, i've pretty much given up trying to make things accurate. however, if its a HUGE detail, like for example: current tripp is now mostly brown, if the arist ended up making him black, or for Eco- forgot the white markings on her forarms. i will mention something.

if its minor, i'll let it pass. Major- i will speak up. you did pay for the art, the least they can do is get the major stuff correct lol.

I write about my characters, all the time, I don't order art very often, and I don't post writing very often so they don't look used. Does this make me look like a bad owner?

no one has the right to judge you on that you don't order much art of your characters. everyone can decide what they want to do with their own characters. i use them for story writing more than ordering art too, and it don't think it makes me or anyone neglected.

no, not at all! Writing brings your characters to life, and gives them a fuller personality, history, actions, etc.
And honestly, I feel as though characters were supposed to be used for writing first, before people started ordering art and stuff xD
Because a bunch of characters were created for RPs, stories, books, and stuff.
And as long as you're using your characters for something, they aren't being neglected.
