When he finally told her, she smiled, and he smiled back, but while he was smiling, the girl was taken away, and never saw him again. Now he thinks that everytime he smiles, he'll loose someone he loves.

○ｐｅｒｓｏｎａｌｉｔｙ － Shanmao isn't one for plesentries. You'll often find him quiet, suposably mulling over things in a corner and making intimidating eye contact with everyone so that they'll leave him alone. It's not that he's antisocial; it's just that he dosn't like to make the first move. Shanmao dosn't get along well with quiet, shy, careful animals. He needs roudy, pushy, passionate friends who never consider the concqences and wouldn't think twice about picking a fight with someone who looks at them weird. While he's a little more down to earth than the friends he's looking for, usually ending up as the anchor of the group, he can match the tone of any situation with ease, especially fights. He loves to fight. The adrenline, the pain, the passion- it's never just for fun. That's just a plesant benefit. He doesn't take crap, and he's not afraid to call you out for doing something disrespectful. But, when it comes to girl's, he falls back on his 'don't make the first move' habits, opting to watch them from a far, denying said female attention just because he's afraid to give it, or dosn't know how. I'm not sure even he's figured it out yet. But, if someone does manage to get to his heart... well, that's uncharted ground. After reading that, you might've gotten the wrong impression. Shanmao isn't as mean as he seems- you just have to get to know him. He loves his friends to the extent of laying down his own life. He loves to help, coming across as childish at times because he usually messes things up in the process. Oh, and don't let me forget kits. He LOVES kits and younger animals, but he ends up scaring them off more often then not with his initial roudyness. It's only when he's alone or with animals he can trust that he'll settle down and tell a story or play like the child he still is. If you want to catch a glimps of this side of him, be paitent. Shanmao's got slight trust issues, and he won't show it to just anyone. He's got a 'rep' to keep up, after all.
○ｂａｃｋｓｔｏｒｙ－ You might have been wondering why Shanmaos name is of Chinese origin instead of Japenese. The awnser is simple; he was born in China as a single kit to a single mother. No one knows who she was, but she left her kit to a mother Lynx who'd lost her own to desease after naming him after the animal. No one knows why she did that, either. But the lynx raised him as her own for six months before disapearing, leaving him to fend for himself.

Maru is quick witted and very sly, she's very mysterious and enjoys making others guess things about herself and her past, often saying very vague and she is playful and flirtatious. She is also cunning and resourceful, always managing to get out of tight spots, even being in a cage. She is also very brave, outgoing, and has a strong sense of adventure. She can be very manipulative when she needs to be and isn't afraid to get what she wants, even if the means she used were less than savory.
Background: Maru grew up alone, on her own, so she had to learn how to survive. She found it easy to get her way, especially with males, by flirting with them or distracting them so as to accomplish something that would get her closer to her goal. She can be very conniving.

Ƙitsune Chimera's name

→ I would name this Kit Kitty, a female by Calico standards. Of course she has a true Kitsune name, but lets not discuss that. We prefer to keep that to ourselves, if that's okay. The reason behind the name Kitty, is all explained in the backstory, and will make much more sense once you read it. There's no true rhyme or reason as to why I chose her backstory to be the way it is, it just felt right. Almost as if it just called out to me. Beckoning to write and write, pleading to go further and further into detail. I have put much effort into this character development as a whole. Plus, well, green is my favorite color and I love bandannas, so, I mean, who wouldn't want to incorporate that into the story c': So read along, please?

Lock is certainly a sweet fellow, through and through. Of course, he is not perfect, who, after all, can achieve pure perfection? However, his sweetness is generally only given to those that he cares about, though he is still nice to others. Additionally, he is extremely caring to those that he trusts and loves. This sweet and caring nature of his is tied in with his loyalty - he would never leave a friend in need. Although, that can cause problems in its own. As he has all this caring and sweetness and loyalty inside him and very little that he chooses to give it too, this causes him to become overprotective over them up to the point of violence. Luckily, no one has pushed him to the edge of actually killing another. On the other hand of having a capability of being violent, Lock has a guilty conscience. He believes that everything bad that happens to those he cares about are simply his fault. Nobody else's. His. Similarly, if he were to see a friend upset, he would feel guilty as to why can't he be upset? Why do his friends have to suffer? He should suffer, not his friends. They don't deserve to suffer.

Lock is often easily upset. This could be from others simply saying the wrong thing at the wrong time or even just being in an upsetting atmosphere/around many upset people. Whilst he is easily upset, he is also easily scared and can often be described as 'jumpy' or 'skittish' by others. Despite this, Lock is still quite a vocal young lad and will make sure that his opinion is known [though he won't try to force it upon others]. He is also incredibly awkward in social situations and finds himself unable to talk to others a lot of the time unless he knows them. Lock finds himself also being an incredibly dependant being whom relies on others for comfort and help, often up to the point of being described as 'clingy' or 'needy'. He never realises that this can affect a friend until it's either almost too late or simply too late. As a result, he often finds himself begging for their forgiveness.

Lock is persistent in his actions. He continuously tries to find an answer, a cure, for his owner. Spite of the difficulty that comes with this, he has yet to lose hope or faith in finding the answer. This compliments his searching nature perfectly, as he is constantly searching for the cure. This involves him having to sneak away a lot of the time, and he has difficulty seeing how his searches are hurting his owner. After all, he's trying to make her better. To put it simply, sweet intentions, wrong actions.

Backstory
Lock was found by a human when he was young [about 4-6 human years], whereabouts of his parents unknown. He can remember some grainy images from his past about his parents, but he cannot remember what happened to them. Unknown to him, his parents had found themselves unable to provide for him any longer, so they simply attempted to work out a human that may take care of him and raise him. Lucky for him, the human, a woman in her late twenties, named Emma, had chosen to raise the poor thing. Lock only really socialised with Emma as no one else lived with her, so he did not know how to respond socially if the situation did not include Emma. Additionally, he started to become over protective of her over time.
His 'scarf' was, in fact, a small blanket that Emma had wrapped him in when he found him. Over time, he's grown; making the blanket seem small in comparison. Rather than use it to warm him at night, he decided a scarf suited it better. Those little beads on strings? They were tied onto him when he was found by Emma as a gift from his parents, it is believed.

However, his story does not end there. Over time Emma's health disorientated and, upon a few examinations, her problems all led to one thing. One dreadful thing that Lock would forever search the cure for. Cancer. Of course, he did not understand that there was no cure for this, but he still did his best to find the cure. He sneaked away from home frequently to search for some form of cure. He would often bring home different leaves and shove them by Emma's feet; willing her to try some in hope that they might heal her. She refused this, as, of course, eating leaves would be a bit strange. Lock began to get increasingly stressed as he noticed her hair beginning to fall out. Sometimes, he wouldn't even recognise her by sight.
