This has to do with Sigurd's puphood.
His story says that his sister was eaten by a Kronador, and Sigurd couldn't save her. So basically he felt guilty for it. Later, ((in the RP version between Sigurd and Winga) he thought that the sunset looked like blood on the horizon. Very long story made short for ya'lls ^^
