Remember how i said my rat is pregnant? Well the babies were born today! There is about 10 or 11 babies. My mom said i can keep ALL of them, as long as they stay in my barn (which is insulated and predator proof) They are soo cute! But im keeping my distance so they can have some privacy.

Ya i have a barn. It used to be a horse barn, but now my dad just uses it as his workshop. Im going to keep them in the loft. I will have 2 big home-made cages. One for the males and one for the females.

And yes i know that the mother could possibly eat her babies. My friend once had a pregnant hamster, and when she touched the babies, the mom ate them

I took mommy rat and the babies out of the cage so i could clean it. (It looked like a big poop pile ) She didnt mind me touching her babies. I counted and there are 10. When i put them back in the cage, mommy rat started feeding them like normal. She doesnt mind my scent being on them.

Yeah, I think it depends on how strong a bond you have with you rat, obviously if you never hold it, clean it, feed it ect its obviously not going to like you so will get mad when you touch her babies XD

I wish I could breed my rats <3 ... but I'm lucky to have the two I have now X)

Have you ever had a rat?: Have I? XD I've had 7 of em'. 4 were store bought, 2 were given to me, 1 I wrangled by myself. Took me an hour to catch that little sucker. I love rats anyway, they are so adorable and awesome/
