Darkpaw shook her head indecisively, her long-furred tail limp on the dusty earth.
She was alone out here by the mountain's waterfall, the only other cats were rogues and a couple clans.
She had left her own clan, and presumed the life of a loner. But now, she felt the urge to destroy.
Frustration, sorrow, betrayal, and denial suffocated her.
Every thought seemed to drag her underneath her sanity, and her dark green eyes bulged from the mental impact.
"But I'm not my father," she whimpered, her voice cracking from emotion as tears cascaded down her cheeks.
"I'm not violent, like him. I care, unlike Mother. I'm different. But I'm shunned. Oh, StarClan.." Darkpaw collapsed, the roaring water ringing in her ears, soothing her into sleep.
She had a whole bloodline dedicated to evil deeds, and everything she had been taught as a kit was wrong.
How to kill, how to conquer, how to destroy.. At last her eyes drooped, and she saw herself there, standing on ash as green flames began to rise all around her.
Trapped..
