The Festival of Falling Leaves|~

The queen paces out from between two formidable trees, curtains of their red and orange leaves fall from behind her in a cascade like rain. She gleamed in the setting sun's light, her petl dusted with light gold, making every move of hers shimmer and shine.
"Greetings, all of you."

Her tone was light but many could tell she was full of not only her trade mark boredom, but also anticipation. Slowly she turned her head from side to side taking in all whom had collected in the decorated square.

"Tonight marks the 18th day of the fall season. It was at this time, our ancient ancestors came together to celebrate the falling leaves, and the changing of the seasons."

She paused as a single golden leaf slowly fell from the trees above and landed lightly in between her paws. With a smile she picked it up and held it out to the crowd.

"To our ancestors these leaves symbolized life, the green, healthy leaves were the living, while the brown fallen ones were the dead. during this time were the leaves transition were the leaves transition, those ancient daeets would come together and celebrate the Festival of Falling leaves. A time to celebrate the lives of both those who have passed, and those of the living alike."

She paused for a moment to let her leaf go, she watched it blow away on the wind, a small tear running down her face as she turned back to the crowd.

"This was never a time of morning or sadness to our people, it was a time to live and celebrate the lives of those whom have left us. To honor them, and their achievements, many daeets would don costumes, hold feasts or still others would burn offerings to their ancestors.

This festival was banned by my own Great-grand Sire; but under my rule I have decreed to re awaken this grand ancient ceremony, for there is no harm in honoring the dead."

Well this is the festival of falling leaves, a very big tradition in the daeet world. What does this entail for you all? Well I'll be doing a serises of mini events, and games.. oh yes there will be games.., there are also a few surprises in store for you all along the way.

I'll make another post later on, but make sure to check the "event" post frequently for updates!
