Thank you torisnowball qvq <3 Good luck!
ahh I'm flattered Machenza ;v; haha
mm well lineart is a significant piece of the operation. Clean, crisp and fun lines that (1) are easy to work with for the designer(s) and (2) appeal to the customers. (Find an artist whose style appeals to you and or is most fitting for your adoptable species)
The pose and expression--I personally--believe should be kept generic to give it less inflectional personality qualities. (With the exception of a generically happy/sad/etc. adoptable species) Additionally the posture should offer the onlooker a clear outline of the adoptables design, so there's no complications in re-creating it. (for entry art/fan art/etc. purposes)
Color palettes, design techniques, should offer variety to win the approval of each members individual preferences. For ideas what the public is looking for, ask for design suggestions, themes, colors, etc. In addition to the staff members getting the inspiration they need, the community's connection grows stronger from your invitation to support and provide design concepts.
As owner of the adoptable species there's obviously a bit of responsibility and obligation on your shoulders.
Keep to your deadlines. If you can't, and if possible, mention ahead of time there will be some alterations to the schedule to keep the community in the loop.
Provide a healthy amount of selection. Keep at least one adoptable out at a time. The public often loses interest if the adoption center progress is slow.
Never, I repeat, never, lose your head. Stressed? Frustrated? Emotional? Take a deep breath and leave the computer keyboard for five minutes. Never let your anger out on the public, regardless if it was their fault or not. Keep a clear head, and if the situation calls for it, ask a CS moderator to help you out. Patience, reason, and benefit of the doubt is a few great things to keep in mind in these circumstances.
Keep the community rolling! You don't want to lose interest, you want to gain more! Some things to consider--if you don't have them already--are GA slots and custom opportunities. It gives them a to look forward goal each week/month etc, and typically keeps their attention. Personally I'm going to award these privileges through special events and the like instead of having a schedule. Feel free to go different ways with this idea, just see to it you have their awareness!
Rules, layout, etc. should be kept clear and definite! Review and or have others check your work before posting your adoption thread. Is there any spelling mistakes? Confusing wording? Forgot something? Have it all there ahead of time so you don't need to correct your mistakes after it's been released to prying eyes. Avoid bright, eye burning text colors for sensitive users. If you want to be colorful, just lower the hues, keep it soft and sweet. Keep the layout clean, and easy to read--yet attractive. (Find eye catching text logos at cooltext.com and or use decorative text dividers for cool organization) Don't know how to code? Find a prize and advertise! Improvise if you don't have a prize. (Offer a custom, a staff position, etc.) Have a new rule/piece of information etc.? Don't forget to add it to the main adoptable post, edit the main title with a notification and or post on the main adoptable thread. Keep the community in the loop to avoid unnecessary confusion.
well I'll private message you if I can think of anymore pointers qvq <3 but hopefully this helps out 'D
