Number: 5
Name: Baci
Gender: male
Baci was born in a zoo. He hated it and the humans. Sure they fed him, but he longed to be free. As everyone else scarffed down their food, he would sit on a rock and watch the humans walk by. He would think about the big, endless lush dessert plains. He would then take a dip in the little man-made pool. It was the same thing everyday. Until, one day he spotted two humans disputing. One he relized, the feeder. He looked worried. Baci tilted and rotated his ears trying to pick up on the conversation. He knew he would't understand, but he didn't care. "But please, you cant-" The feeder was cut off by the other man, "The donations don't cover the fee for the zoo. You already owe money, and the bills are still piling up" "But the animals can't go back into the wild! They'd never survive, they're used to being fed and they don't have hunting skills!" The feeder said. The other man rolled his eyes and said, "Then we'll donate them to a different zoo. With that Baci shrugged and sat up. I wish I could understand what they were saying he thought. He got up and laid down for a nap. He awoke suddenly by the snarls of the other dogs. He quickly stood and watched his den-mates get carried off. He looked to his left to see a dog getting stuffed into a crate. He then felt something on his neck. Baci snarrled and spun around. Standing behind him was a large man holding a pole and a crate. He was holding Baci with a wire rope around the end of the stick. Baci growled and tryed to get away. It was no use, the man was strong. The man finally forced Baci into the crate and wiped a bead of sweat from his forhead. "That's the last one!" He shouted as he, and the other humans, walked out of the enclosure. Baci snarrled and looked around at his, also, caged den-mates. The man threw Baci's crate in last and hopped in the truck. The truck jolted forward and Baci hit the side of the crate. It moved and gave him an idea. He bashed his side against it repedtly and eventually, it fell. The cage's door flew off as the crate collided with the ditch. Baci got his thoughts together and slowly crept out of the crate. He looked around him and saw the big, open field. Baci went wide-eyed and ran forward. "I did it!" He howled as he darted into the tall grass, finally free.
