History/Background
When Cail was born, he was considered weak and he was considered the victim. So when he was attacked by three older Goennecs, they were surprised when he fought back.
Cail lay in the dirt, gazing at the grass as if swayed gently in the breeze. His fur ruffled and he smiled softly at the feeling. The sun shone warmly on his pelt and he stretched his hind legs. Slowly, he stood up, breathing in the clean air of the meadow. The other Goennec children played a few lopes away, laughing loudly. he flicked his ears at the sound. It was too loud and rough. The older Goennecs spoke softly to each other, farther away from the children and Cail. Cail sighed and turned his head to the forest in the west of the meadow. The sunlight filtered through, creating an almost unearthly beauty on the forest floor. Curiosity tugged strongly at him, but he turned away, a frown on his face. he looked up, only to come face to face with three older Goennecs. They were the bullies of the batch. The ones who thought they were superior over the youngling's because they were all a year older. And they had made it there job to torture Cail beyond reason. "What's this? The little whelp with no father is alone. I wonder why!" The leader laughed. Cail's eyes narrowed. It was true. His father had disappeared before he was born. Ever since he was avoided by the children. The adults looked on him with pity, for they considered him weak too. He felt a hoof on his side and he tumbled onto his side as he was shoved into the dirt. "I'm talking to you Whelp." The leader snarled. One of his goonies towered over him. "Leave me alone Getto." Cail growled. Getto glared at Cail as he called him by his given name. Getto glanced at the two beside him and they nodded. They reared and brought their hooves down upon Cail. Cail didn't flinch, but he couldn't get away either. Finally, they backed off. Cail lay in the dirt, bruised and bloodied. They turned to leave when they heard something. They turned to see Cail standing. he shook slightly, but he stood firm. Blood dripped from his lip. "I asked you... to leave me alone...." He panted. They stared at him in fear and shock. Cail's eyes were as hard as ice and his heart was a solid stone. He reared and brought his hooves down on Getto. Getto cried in fear as Cail pinned him in one swift movement. "I've had enough of your games." Cail snarled. "Now get lost!" he roared. Getto staggered out from under Cail and he and his goons fled, tails tucked between their legs. Cail collapsed, panting hard. "Excuse me.... Do you need help?" A gentle voice asked. Cail opened his eyes to see Leila. A beautiful white goennec that has tan stripes here and there. Cail nodded slightly. "Leila..... Sorry...." he muttered, his mouth thick with blood. "For what silly? You were beaten up by those jerks. Don't apologize." She said, snorting. She let him lean against her, ignoring the blood. Cail smiled. "Thanks Leila...." He whispered, then his eyes shut and he pasted out.
