A quick question though,
what kind of energy source to these guys have? And are they AI or do they have some level of organic intelligence?

Energy source is up to you, you choose what your GTs run off of. ;P
As for the second question, most of them started off as plain AI, and ended up somehow developing a personality and mindset of their own, like any other living being. uwu
