{{ Crinitus Dracones are a species of dragon. The literal translation is Fluffy Dragons, but it was decided that 'Fluffy Dragons simple wasn't an elegant enough name, therefore 'Crinitus Dracones' was born!

{{ They are not extremely rare, but have a level of rarity to them. They are linked with humans; but one specific human may only be linked with three, but that is very rare. These people must be strong willed and put a huge amount of effort into giving each equal attention.

{{ The dragons are quite unique and at time often do not look alike to anything. Though some look similar, but only if they are twins; even then they look different.



{{ The dragons at adulthood can reach two meters tall, and can be as small as 1 meter. The males tend to be taller than the females.

{{ Between being a hatchling and adulthood the dragons play-fight and relish each others company. They tend not to make their first bonds at this age but it is not unheard of; the reason it is more difficult to bond at this age is because when first born they spend all of their time with their mothers then grow and enjoy playing with other hatchlings.

{{ The egg is warm to touch and has a slight feeling of feathery down, though not visible to the naked eye there are tiny hairs coating the egg to keep it warm for when the parents are not with the egg. The best time to bond with a Crinitus is now; though finding an abandoned egg or stealing one is quite the feat as the parents are very diligent and caring. The only time you cold ever do this easily is through breeding a Crinitus and helping care for the egg.

{{ The eggs are made of a very thick, almost indestructible material. Nobody has really tried to break the eggshells except after hatching and even then it's very tough.



{{ They will not let human ride them unless they are extremely close.

{{ They are practically sentient beings. They cannot speak any human language and can only speak through their human.

{{ They are generally very quiet, and very kind towards other beings, but they do have separate personalities and can be different.

{{ They do not have mating seasons because they mate whenever they want to. And they mate for live meaning that they only mate once they no longer have a hatchling or egg to care for, even then the sometimes choose against it.

As you approach the egg you recognize it as a dragon egg, it's smaller than normal, you think perhaps it is a female?
At a closer look you notice it is slightly translucent, and that you can see the embryo inside.
It appears to have a cherry blossom on the egg and you wonder if it will have that once it grows?

I'm not sure what I want for this one,
I have a few ideas for it.

I want a name for him/her and meaning and I want a story or art.
No extras, but pretty forms are allowed!<3

Aura is one of the names of the goddess who controls the breezes. I think of the breeze when I look at this egg because I can imagine a light breeze drifting though the cherry blossom tree and rustling its leaves.

As some know, I've already discovered a Crinitus. Zyalon has become my faithful partner over these weeks and we are slowly becoming to being friends rather just partners. The village I live nearby doesn't support my idea of having a "dragon" as a pet. But really, Zyalon isn't my pet. I do not hold him as my prisoner in the cabin, he comes and goes as he pleases. However, today we decided to walk the trails of our favorite forest. The one I actually found him in. We were enjoying the late afternoon, the sun wasn't beating down too harshly and the breeze was gentle, almost as if it were caressing our skin. My bow and arrows were resting against my shoulder and I could feel Zyalon's breath on my neck as he followed me. Yesterday he had tested out his wings to see if they were strong enough to fly, but today he had agreed to walk on land with me. Abruptly his feathered wing went across my chest, stopping me instantly. "What?" I frowned. Usually he did this if there was danger, but I saw nothing that would be a threat. Zyalon rumbled lowly and lowered his muzzle down, pushing some tall grass away... and there laid an egg. I took off my bow and crouched down to have a better look. A design that looked like a tree was upon the egg and I gently stroked it. "Is the mother around?" I asked Zyalon quietly, knowing he'd understand. He sniffed the egg and rumbled again, this time his tone was unsure. I carefully rearranged the beads that were upon the egg and took a last glance around. The evening was drawing closer and the creatures of the night would be stirring soon. Even if the egg had the protection of the tall grass... It was still in danger for the creatures that would be able to seek it out. Gently I lifted it to the level of my vision, inspecting the egg for any cracks. Satisfied that it was clear of any damage I stood up, creating a nest out of my arms and I turned towards Zyalon. "It looks like you may have a new friend you'll have to share me with." He snorted at me. When one of my friends had visited the cabin about a day or so ago, Zyalon had been jealous that I paid more attention to my friend. Perhaps he is growing protective of me. But he touched the egg carefully with his muzzle before we turned to head back home, so maybe he'll learn to accept that he'll have to share the attention given by me.

This is my third entry in this recording journal I keep. First was my story of Zyalon, then my beginning story of Aura, and now this will be explaining the days of having them both living with me. It has been many weeks since Aura has hatched, but I will go back to the day when she first entered this word. It was late on a Thursday, Zyalon was taking up my couch so I took the chair across from it instead and while I was flipping through a new book of mine, I heard a small cracking sound. Zyalon was snoring quite deeply so I had to tilt my head to try and indicate the unusal sound. My eyes finally came to a rest on the box that kept Aura's egg safe and I frowned when I saw the box wiggle. Setting my book gently back on the chair, I stood up and walked over to the box. It was filled with soft blankets to keep the egg warm and I peeked into it. The egg was finally hatching. At first it simply wiggled a few times, but then it started cracking more and more until a small nose poked through a small hole. I chuckled lowly, playfully waving my finger over it. The being inside the egg made a squeaking sound and the nose disappeared for a moment. We played the game of "poke the nose" for a few moments before the little crinitus dracones broke through the shell. She gazed up adoringly at me and instantly I fell in love with her. Usually the species was very shy and cautious, but this little one seemed to love me the moment she saw me and she squeaked again, insisting me to pick her up when her small claws couldn't find any grip on the edges of the box. Carefully, I picked her up and craddle her in my arms. Zyalon was now away, yawning widenly to reveal his sharp razors and his gaze narrowed down at the small creature in my arms. With a huff he slip off of the couch and walked over to me, pausing once he stood before me. He sniffed the little one and she blinked at him curiously. "This is Aura, Zyalon, " I stated, a smile twitching on my lips when I saw him stare at me accusingly, "I told you that you'd have to share my attention." Zyalon was my partner in everything, and he didn't seem to sure about sharing that attention with Aura. But as the days--and weeks--went by the two of them have grown to tolerate each other. Somedays, when Zyalon thought I wasn't looking, I'd seem him outside teaching Aura how to stalk mice. I had a feeling that the two of them would get along just fine.
