Got a new book and a new series to start on! Although the books are pretty small, the words seem to have a cheerful and exciting voice to it so it should be enjoyable to read.

It's Ranger's Apprentice, by the way.

Ranger's Apprentice is a pretty good book, though I'd advise you to keep in mind they started as simple stories for the author's kid, and, well, that fact becomes more and more apparent as time goes on.
In spite of the length of the books and the implication that they're YA, I would consider the series to be a children's series rather than YA as it carefully avoids ever bringing up any serious issues in a meaningful way, has black and white morality, and even when things should take a turn for the darker it continues to be strangely lighthearted. Also, the plot of every book has been done a few hundred times before.
They're enjoyable, but you should probably lower your expectations. They're probably the most generic medieval fantasy series ever written, though the writing is engaging and fun.

I've finally managed to get my hands on a copy of The Shining. It's excellent so far, but I haven't been reading it very much (I haven't even reached page 200). Much, much more depth than the movie.

Have any of you seen the new Percy Jackson movie? Was it any good? The first one was awful, hopefully they managed to follow the storyline a little closer in this one.

Hi! I havent had anything to read lately, I am looking for maybe a fantasy, preferably a series, Any suggestions?

"Artemis Fowl" by Eoine Colfer is an excellent fantasy series. I'm going to order the last book from my library soon. :)

I've (finally!) finished The Shining. It was excellent! The movie (which I used to really like) completely pales in comparison. I checked out IT and The Tommyknockers, with the hope they'll be at least as good. :)

It took forever, but I've finally found a copy of Mikhail Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita! Can't wait to start it! I hope it's as good as I've heard!

I was thinking the same.
I am gonna watch it today, I have heard that it's gotten some better reviews then the first
but I am still a bit egdy about it.

The characters look more like themselves this time, at least. It's very difficult to find good adaptations of movies from books!

I watched it yesterday, they surprisingly got some plots right but they're mixed up, and they didn't include the part where percy gets turned into a guineau pig, which dissapoints me. Tyson's personality was off to the side, but still a bit similar to the one in the book.
