I meant, I think it would be cruel for us to lock him in, he'd meow and scratch the door, that makes me feel bad for him, it would be horrible, just imagine.

I would suggest giving him an alternate diet to keep him full. That way, he won't feel the need to eat wild animals, bones and all.
